Avatar f tn My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair.
Avatar m tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment but it should be under a dermatologist’s guidance because the skin of penis is very thin and delicate. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hyperpigmentation Removal treatments are used to eradicate darkened areas of the skin which may result from hormones, sun damage, injuries, skin-type characteristics, medications and more. Hyperpigmentation lesions can be anything from melasma/cholasma often attributed to pregnancy or hormonal imbalances to freckles.
Avatar f tn d advise everyone to steer clear of laser hair removal on the upper lip. I have very pale skin and was informed that I was a perfect candidate for laser hair removal on the face; however, the skin on the upper lip is far too sensitive for laser hair removal, whatever your skin tone. I have spent a fortune on creams such as Clinique's dark spot corrector with little effect. The issue is that the damage caused by the laser is so deep no topical solution is effective.

Avatar n tn The mole is a concentration of skin pigmentation, which appear elevated from the skin. On the other hand, a skin tag is a mass of skin cells that seem to hang from the skin, connected by a thin stem. When located on exposed parts like the neck, hands and face, these skin blemishes can be embarrassing. This is why people do mole skin tag removal. Moles and skin tags can be removed surgically through cutting tools or laser.
Avatar m tn I frankly don't get it. You're 21 but you don't know about all this? It is PERFECTLY normal to have hair on the base of the penis, on your scrotum, and on your penis shaft. It is also PERFECTLY NORMAL to have that straight line under your penis. All men have it. Unless you have a history of trauma/injury/inflammation under your penis, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Removing the hair on the shaft is totally fine, as long as you're not using hair laser removal.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, i got a hair laser removal i got burnt both legs now it's healed dark brown some are pinkish. is my skin will go normal after the post laser burns? please advice because it's really frustrating.
Avatar m tn In this procedure, actual removal of the hyperpigmented areas is done via laser peels. These treatments evaporate the first few layers (or even deeper) of damaged or pigmented skin to reveal fresh, even toned skin. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .
Avatar m tn I would like to know if its possible to remove this mark using laser treatment, or any other type of treatment whatsoever, micro pigmentation tattooing, or anything that will make that area look like my natural skin color. If there needs to be a picture shown for this to be answered, i have no issues uploading it. Thanks for the Help, Sincerely.
Avatar m tn the colour of your lip is related to the underlying blood circulation and pigmentation. Lip is actually mucosa and not skin and therefore, is not appropriate to bleaching or laser treatment. However, lip pigmentation can be related to general health issue and may be worthwhile to visit your doctor for a consultation.
Avatar n tn If so, there are a number of treatments available. One very popular remedy has been laser skin resurfacing which helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, scars, lines and hyper pigmentation surrounding the eyes and mouth. It can also be used to treat areas on the cheeks. Laser resurfacing does not cause as much discomfort, bruising, scaring or bleeding compared to other cosmetic surgery procedures.
Avatar n tn I have hyper pigmentation on my face. I had a terrible bout of it in my twenties due to a hormonal imbalance. My skin did feel the same though and not thicker. Sun made it worse. I used Renova at that time and it helped a lot. So expensive though. I haven't had a script for it in many years but think about it often as I've got some pigmenting going on again. It's in less conspicuous places and saw a dermatologist about it who was not concerned.

Avatar n tn There are many products in the market that claim to remove scars that decrease inflammation and minimize pigmentation. . However, there are not enough studies to show their complete removal. There are many factors to consider such as the type of scar, location, depth, width, age and your medical history. It is best that you have this checked by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist for proper evaluation. Scar revision through surgery and laser treatments may be indicated.
Avatar n tn As for laser therapy, this may be of use also but look for a dermatologist with a good experience in terms of performing laser procedures. Laser therapy may burn skin and cause discolorations also. Bleaching creams may be used also but with close supervision as this may be abrasive.
Avatar m tn Have you made any inquiries about laser treatment, I am no expert but I do know it can treat many skin problems ..I had a port stain birthmark removed by laser. Do some research and ask the Dermatologist what he thinks ..

Avatar f tn I am a 17-year-old girl who has been suffering from pigmentation issues since I was 13. My skin scars VERY easily and I'm left with large, faint, brown patches of pigmentation that make my skin very blotchy-looking. They come from irritated dry spots. I don't have a severe problem with acne but I get pimples now and then. I have pigmentation that has been there for almost 3 years, quite faint and persistent. I'm desperate.
