Avatar m tn Hi everybody! Im really desperate as well after having my skin damaged by ipl laser, but I got more of HYPER pigmentation with some small dots of hypo pigmentation in it. I've been recommended lots of different bleaching things etc, but I wonder - wouldn't ginger also help my problem of hyper since ginger really seems to activate cell renewal and circulation - thus blend my darker discoloration eventually? Anyone know anything? Really desperate, would be so happy if I got a lead, thanks.
Avatar n tn The darkening is due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation as a result of contact dermatitis. Although many skin lightening creams and techniques like laser, chemical peeling and microdermabrasion are available but looking at the age of your child,I don’t think any of these is suitable. You can however apply calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream on the effected skin . Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your daughter is doing or in case you have any additional doubts.
Avatar m tn Another newer development is something called X-Trac laser, used for psoriasis and some other skin conditions. The advantage with X-Trac is that there is hardly any heat, no UV exposure and fewer treatments are required. The disadvantage are that it can only treat smaller areas (<10% of your body), may not be applicable to the skin condition you have, and the relatively expensive treatments may not be covered by many insurance policies.
Avatar f tn I'm hoping for this rather than another tear. And if I was unfortunate to get another tear could it be treated by laser rather than eye surgery again?
Avatar n tn But I notice that my dominate eye changes constantly depending upon the lightening. Outside, left eye dominate. Inside or lower lightening, right eye dominate. That may be why my halos are dimishing. So, now I am wondering if the halos will return when I have the second eye implant. When you hear people say that cataract surgery is simple, they must be referring to the time in the OR. It has been far from simple for me.
Avatar f tn I have just started with this itch on my upper arm and I have scratched my skin so bad it looks horrible!!!! I keep ice and topical creams on at night and gel/cream during the day but the itch does not stop. It's much worse at night. This just started two months ago and I have no idea where it came from or how to stop it. :( If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!
Avatar n tn but I have noticed I can close my eyes or just be in a dark place and turn my head side to side fairly quickly and cause the white laser type light to flash, encircling the peripheral area or just move my eyes side to side with my eyes open to stimulate the light. Is this the case with you also? I never have headaches or high blood pressure. I noticed you posted May 12 2009 which has been sometime back, have you gotten any information of what this might be?
Avatar n tn They just said it was irritated skin...and my reaction was NO S*@t. She just gave me a different cream to apply. She said that when I go back in September if I still have the fissure problem then she is going to send me to a dermatologist. I was so upset for the whole day and so far it has effected my whole week. I thought they were going to find out what it was and give me a magic pill to get rid of it. Instead I get an answer that I already knew and told to switch creams.
Avatar n tn ) The stuff inside is a combination of dead skin cells and oil from your skin, which is what the 'white' stuff is. It is usually kind of thick and oily when it comes out, and is sometimes mixed with a little blood. I think washing the area gently once or twice a day with antibacterial soap is a good idea. You might also want to apply an antibacterial ointment to it like Neosporin to keep it from becoming infected. I like the Neosporin with Pain Relief, the pain relief medicine really helps.
Avatar n tn Also it feels not like a muscle pain, but only skin deep, despite the extremeness of the pain. Someone suggested to me that a pinched nerve can cause this- the nerve being pinched by tight clothing. So, I have, today, worn the loosest pants that I own and so far so good. I hope your thigh pain has ceased. and I hope this will end my thigh pain. I just got a new job and cannot afford to loose it... Let me know if or how you resolved your leg pain.
Avatar f tn 5% - that worked for about 4 months and gradually stopped plus it thinned my skin tremendously. Keeping my fingers crossed that whether its the prudoxin, sun shirts or menopause, I am just hopefully that this is ended. My heart goes out to you all. I am amazed how many dermatologists are oblivious to this, making you jump through so many hoops over and over again starting with anithistamines then a battalion of creams.
211940 tn?1267884866 once a week to physical therapy, twice a week to acupuncture, 600mg Advil 3-times a day and ice as often as I can remember. The physical therapy is minimal stretching. It is the most frustrating thing but it does seem to be getting better - I've been suffering for appx 4 months, I still have pain at night, but it's getting a little better.
Avatar f tn After doing some research, I believe it is an over production and build up of sebum on the scalp. I have had acne problems, have rosacea, and my skin and hair is very oily. I found balancing shampoos on line that are supposed to prevent sebum build up. Aveda is one of them, but I haven't tried it. Sebum: substance with an oily consistency produced by the sebaceous glands. It lubricates hair, is an antifungal/antibacterial, and imparts waterproofing properties to the skin.
Avatar f tn What's more, I did not have the hallmarks of either Scleroderma or Lupus (no hard skin, no mylar rash, no photo-sensitivity). Things did not quite fit together in my head or in my heart. I was praying a lot for direction (and because I felt so bad) and I started to research what other things might be caused by my "very specific" Nucleolar pattern.
Avatar n tn I don't get head aches but the nerve running next to my Carotid Artery is definently involved. It has also made all the muscles in my neck extremely tight. I'm in Physical Therapy now to loosen the muscles in my neck and upper torso. Motrin experiment added no relief so I'm now taking Lyrica and Cymbalta for pain. So far, I am not impressed with results. I also power walked 5-9 miles per day.
298579 tn?1192250448 I am so tired of it all. I just started physical therapy but I am so much more leaning towards the partial. I don't want kids. but they won't do it, because i might change my mind. Trust me I have thought about this for a long 5 years and i am good with my decision. they removed 9 polyps and 2 fibroids on a D&C but won't do laprascopic surgery because i am a bigger woman. Thank you I am sending this site to my doctors.
Avatar n tn Recently over the last few years I would describe the pain as a stabbing, lightening bolt type of pain that makes me jump or stand on my toes, almost as if I'm trying to get away from the pain. Either way, the pain is blindingly intense, but thankfully only lasts a few seconds. The most it ever lasted (a few years ago) was 4-5 seconds, but it felt more like 4-5 minutes, ouch!!! Over the last 7 years I've seen my internist and urologist for other urinary symptoms.
Avatar n tn I was just reading online about an experimental therapy for this - don't know if you could get one of these to help, but it might work. Here is the quote: "One of the newer treatments, involves using an asthma inhaler of the beta-adrenergic type such as salbutamol. This relaxes smooth muscle in the bronchi in the lung, has a rapid onset of action, and is rarely associated with significant side effects at normal doses. The muscle in the lower bowel is similar smooth muscle.
Avatar f tn It felt like I was being I was struck by lightening!! It was the worse pain I've ever experienced ever!! I've had root canals and I've had one of my wisdom teeth removed, but this was absolute hell!! Anyway, since lower lip and chin are numb. I get that tingly, itchy, crawling feeling much like what was mentioned and it's just extremely uncomfortable to touch, to kiss my little babies, wash my face, eat etc...
