Avatar m tn It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!
Avatar m tn The location of the knee pain can be a useful guide. Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was hoping you could assist with the following problem, Following a fall in football, landing on the right side of my left knee, I experienced immense pain and heat across the knee. Immediately after bruising spread up and down my leg and a fluid filled sac developed on the top right side of my knee cap. I visited the doctor and initial was assessed by the two nurses who said they didn't know what it was and asked me to come back to see the doctor.
Avatar f tn My son destroyed an ACL playing football -- he lives a normal life without one, but uses an orthopaedic knee brace when he runs or plays sports.

Avatar n tn Hello all. I was playing football Sunday and although I didn't experience any injury while playing, I felt tightness later that night. I always stretch before and after. The next morning when I woke up I noticed some clicking behind my knee right above my calf. It's right in the center. Now a few days later, I'm feeling a lot of calf numbness and tingling. It's been tough falling asleep because of this. I've had previous problems with this leg before...
Avatar m tn I have been having knee pain for about 1 and a half months now and the doctor's said it's nothing with my bones. I still haven't had an MRI yet and my football coach thinks it's one of three things: Osgood-Schlatter's disease my growth plate is fractured. I forget the third one though. Right under my knee cap hurts when I do too much exercise. It almost feels like there is also a pressure in my knee. Can anybody tell me what they think is going on and if my coach is right?
Avatar f tn I have no pain in my knee though
Avatar m tn Around 6yrs ago I had full reconstructive surgery on my right ACL. Completed the full rehab, fine. Played football very regularly for years after, high intensity a few times a week as well as attending the gym. A year ago I tore my left ACL and had full reconstructive surgery on that. Did full rehab on that, fine.

Avatar n tn I used to go to the limit when it came to pushing my body when I was younger (16-22), and now at 25 I am starting to feel it. I feel it due to powerliftingin my right knee and lower back (deadlifts especially), and football/baseball, throwing shoulder.

Avatar m tn There is marrow edema/ bone contusion in the lateral tibial condyle. There is grade II sprain of LCL and grade I sprain of MCL. There are collections in and around the knee joint as described. Now I have no pain while walking, feeling slight instability. pain while bending my knee or while i sit on ground. can not bend my knee. Its almost a month now. My queries are 1. Can I avoid arthroscopic surgery in my case. 2. and a Second opinion?
Avatar m tn The other leg is perfectly fine in those positions, suffering from neither the stiffness nor the pain in those positions. There is never any swelling in the problem knee. I have some crepitis in both knees but have had this for 10 years with no pain (basically some crackling noise when going up stairs).
Avatar m tn About a month ago I was playing foot ball for my high school knee and upon trying to make a tackle I fell on the inside of my right knee. This was very painful and was hard to deal with the first day. My knee hurt all the time and was numb. I was evaluated by our school trainer, and she said there was no tearing of ACL or MCL. My concern is that at some points it still hurts like an immense burning pain. I don't get a lot of pain, but his is terrible.
Avatar m tn He had pain for a month since he fell while playing football. now after 4 years his knee has swelled and has minor pain. He is 14 teen years old. How to cure it??
Avatar m tn I generally favor Aleve (naproxen) for orthopedic pain. The perscription dose is 500mg twice a day, Aleve comes in 220mg capsules, and lasts about 12 hours, so two pills twice daily is my usual recommendation. Alternatively, I suggest one or two Aleve before activity. However, I would not start on a course of NSAID's before checking with your physician to be sure there is no contraindication. In addition, you might consider using a vitamin containing glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate.

Avatar f tn I’ve rested my knee and it’s not healed I still get pain and aches with resting it in a bent position in the centre of the knee, I also get pain when doing explosive movement and small things like running up the stairs. I’ve been to see a physio and he seems to think I have bursitis, he has given me exercises and I’ve been stretching my muscles and rolling out but it doesn’t seem to be improving. Any tips or anyone suffered from this that could share how they recovered.
Avatar f tn After surgery his knee looked like a football was in it for weeks and his foot is swollen also. He has constant pain. Had tests for infection, blood clots, which were negeative. Has be doing PT, but still cannot walk with a cane. Said it feels like his knee is going to give out. Is now on anti-inflammatory and swelling is going down. Doctors say "everyone is differant and it takes time to heal". They are talking about doing Manipulation if he does not improve.
Avatar m tn This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained it in past), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint. All these aspects will have to be investigated by your doctor. Other possibilities are bursitis (inflammation of fluid filled sac over joints), tendonitis (inflammation of cords joining muscles to bones) or due to weakness of patellar bone.
Avatar m tn I am a 20 year old male. A year back, i was injured in a football match in which the part of my left leg below the knee got twisted. The doctor gave me medicines for tissue repair. I had an MRI done two days back and the report says 1.Minimal intra articular fluid in the lateral compartment. 2.Rupture of ACL at the femoral attachment, likely posttraumatic. Anterior tibial subluxation. I want to know What exactly has happened? What is the treatment? and can Surgery be avoided?
Avatar f tn I was dating this guy for a few months, and when we finally decided to have sex, he wasn't able to get it up. Now I know that this is an embarrasing situation for the male, but what exactly could have gone wrong? He recently hurt his knee pretty badly during while playing a football, and he blamed it on the pain in his knee. But i was talking with my girlfriend, and she says it's because he was nervous. Now I don't know if I believe that, because he's been with many girls...
