245285 tn?1220498346 I have been switching from powerlifting with low reps and very heavy weight, to lifting slightly lighter weight with slow, controlled reps, in the interest of protecting my joints (ironically, then this happens). I have never had an injury before. Do I ice this? Should I be trying not to bend it, or bend it often to keep the blood flowing? Also, should I be wearing wraps when I squat, to protect my joints?

Avatar f tn i pain after i lift them and put them down but im fine afterward my doctor told me to stop heavy lifting because it could harm the baby i would stop lifting asap if cramping occurs that wont stop or bleeding go to your doctor.

Avatar m tn The Pain it starts inside the knee, along with a tingleing sensation along the outside, then it travels down the outside of my caff. after that it spreads to my whole knee and lower leg, the pain increases until i sit down or lean on something to take the weight of my leg. to me it feels like a pinched nerve because after the pain hits the max my whole leg gets numb. sometimes my toes or whole foot gets numb also. I would like to know if someone knows whats going on.
Avatar f tn My sister had a manual labor job when she was pregnant with my nephew and because she did so much and was constantly lifting heavy things she didnt dilate and had to get a c section i forgot what the drs said it was but just be careful. I had to stop working because i couldnt keep lifting all those heavy clients it was too much on my back.

Avatar m tn After several months off from the gym, to see If it would heal on its own, had no positive response so went back to the gym and started out with leg press with light weights and progressively adding up to heavy weights, like 250 lbs. I found myself cheating, the pain inside my left knee wouldnt let me do the exercise right so my right leg started to get thicker than my left and the leg press machine was getting unbalanced too.
Avatar f tn thanks i do a lot of heavy lifting at work so i'm hoping its just a strain.... i do plan to go to the doctor if it gets any worse though, i just cant afford to not be on my feet right now but for now i'll try and avoid lifting too much i guess.

349463 tn?1333571576 Your cervics is more sensitive and you have alot more blood vessels in that area. Sometimes lifting heavy things can cause slight spotting. It happened to me yesterday after lifting my daughter's wooden doll house on Mon. If if were to get heavy enough to need a pad then you should call your dr, other than that if it starts just stop what you are doing and put your feet up and rest until it stops. I hope this is helpful.

Avatar m tn 30, with my gf and my knee got super tight and after another step a SHARP pain shot through it and I nearly fell. We had only gone about 4 miles and had warmed up properly and stretched, the weather was warm so I wasn't cold or tight when it happened. I have seen my medical department and they suspected ITB or Meniscus problems. However after about 2 months of aggressive icing, stretching, and physical therapy I can now run LESS and less before the pain comes back.

Foam rolling and wearing a knee sleeve helps me a lot when lifting heavy weights, as it makes me feel almost no pain even when doing, for example, squats or similar exercises. In the last week or so, I noticed that my left knee got a bit swollen. It feels tender to touch, as if it's filled with a liquid.

I recently decided to get back to the gym as I am a bit over weight. i started with the usual tredmil and weight lifting. i get pretty bad shin splints and usually only fast walk instead of run due to this problem. A few days ago i did some pretty heavy leg presses to work my legs after my teedmill. Then i did leg lifts. i have always had strong legs.

1881346 tn?1341924768 Lifting heavy stuff will not cause you to lose your baby. As coffeebuzz said, your baby has plenty of protection. The only problem with lifting is you hurting yourself. As long as you're used to it and you're not getting over exhausted you're fine.

Avatar f tn I get unbelievable pain from my knee down to my ankles when I jog. After about 40 minutes that pain is some what tolerable and I can jog for 4-5 minutes straight. For the rest of my day my ankles are sore. Does anybody have any idea what this is?
