Avatar m tn aside from being in constant pain and having to take pain meds a lot. While kidney stones hurt, in general they do not impact health in the grand scheme, so there simply has not been, at least wtih my doctors, a passionate concern to get to the bottom of it. Wish I had better news, but on the bright side chronic kidney stone suffers can lead fairly normal lives.

Avatar n tn I have a long history of kidney stones. Ive passed a fair number of fairly large stones and have also had lithotripsy. My latest CT revealed no large stones, but i still have smaller ones in my kidney. Recently ive also had a severe 'bout' of PE. In years past this has not been an issue for me as I can usually last for a substantial amount of time during intercourse. Right now, I have little control ejaculation after i become erect. Its almost as if soon as i become erect, i ejaculate.
Avatar f tn Hi and WELCOME to our Kidney Stone Community. I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully. Please keep in touch. From what I've read stones <5.

I hope everything goes well on Wednesday and hopefully they will have more answers for you. I know it's frustrating, and i am frustrated as well but i just take it one day at a time and i would tell your doctor just how much pain you are in, maybe he can help or give you a stronger medication.
Avatar f tn Hello there, Sore tummy, headaches and dizziness can be due to many causes like anxiety, gastritis, food intolerance, stress etc.Kidney stones will cause symptoms like burning urination, haematuria, pain in flanks and there may also be fever at times. It is suggested to take light food .Avoid fried spicy foods. Drink plenty of water and avoid stress. If the symptoms are severe and persistent a clinical examination may be necessary. Avatar n tn Oh god, kidney stones are just awful, aren't they? After someone stops a long term addiction they have inactive receptors that can easily be "woken up" and quickly put you back where you started, so I think it is possible for you to have withdrawals even though you took the pills for a short time. But on the other hand, only 14 pills stretched out over 5 days seems unlikely to cause you a big problem.
Avatar f tn http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/kidney-stones/basics/risk-factors/con-20024829 This has helpful medical information that your doctor would be able to understand and discuss with you about more uncommon causes: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/239278-overview. Its important to remember that kidney stones are not uncommon and are easily treatable if followed up on. The other conditions are clinically rare.
Avatar m tn Hello, Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
1243347 tn?1268424070 I am a 42 year old male. 8 years ago I had kidney stones that I passed on my own. Recently I had a 4 mm stone with a 3 mm stone sitting on top of that. These were blocking my right kidney which had urine in it. In addition I had several other smaller stones (left & right sides). I was unable to pass any of them on my own so on Tue. I had a ureteroscopy with laser (outpatient). My Urologist said the ureter (not uretha) was perforated.
Avatar f tn I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either.
Avatar f tn Hyperparathyroidism is the number one cause of kidney stones. Every person with a kidney stone should be tested for a problem with their parathyroid glands. Nearly half of all people with kidney stones have a parathyroid tumor in their neck that must be removed or the kidney stones will return.

Avatar f tn As you have had/still have calcium oxalate stones, your risk of getting more kidney stones is much increased. Avoid the foods mentioned and browse the web for more information on oxalate rich foods that you should avoid or eat less of. It is also very important to always stay well hydrated. Your urologist may have advised you to drink 2 litres of fluids (4 pints) during the day, more if you are doing exercises that make you sweat or perspiring in hot weather.

Avatar m tn For kidney stones or ureteric stones, depending on the size of stone, the treatment is planned.I would suggest you to get an ultrasound lower abdomen done. Also drink plenty of water and other fluids like cranberry juice.Small stones can pass as such but for larger ones, treatment is needed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn Hi, Renal calculi can vary in size from as small as grains of sand to as large as a golf ball. Kidney stones typically leave the body by passage in the urine stream, and many stones are formed and passed without causing symptoms. If stones grow to sufficient size before passage—on the order of at least 2-3 millimeters—they can cause obstruction of the ureter.
