Although we've been straining it, and haven't seen it. Said to wait and watch her for now.
Avatar f tn Hi, Kidney stones often do not cause any symptoms. Usually, there is extreme pain, which begins suddenly when a stone moves in the urinary tract and blocks the flow of urine. If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles in the wall of the narrow ureter try to squeeze the stone into the bladder. As the stone moves and the body tries to push it out, blood may appear in the urine, making the urine reddish.

Avatar n tn My 15 year old daughter had a CT scan to check for kidney stones. The doctor told me the results showed stones in both kidneys...more in the right than in the left. Also showed a 4cm by 4cm cyst on the right ovary. She put her on birth control pills for a couple of cycles to see if the cyst goes away. So we are starting month 1 with the birth control pills, and waiting for an ultrasound in a month or two. As for the kidney stones...

Avatar n tn Hi, The presence of calcium oxalate in urine may point towards further evaluation to exclude urinary tract stones. Calcium containing stones are one of the more common renal stones. This may require a 24 hour urine specimen to determine calcium, phosphorus and uric acid levels, urine culture and serum calcium, phosphorus and uric acid levels. A kidney, ureter and bladder CT scan may also be requested. A review of your diet may also shed some light on these findings.

Avatar n tn Sounds like you might have a problem with kidney stones. It is common to miss stones that are so small they are like sand. These often pass through the urine without pain and are missed in blood tests and most radiology tests. I suggest two things. First you can catch your urine and filter it though special filters to see if you collect any sand. This sand can be tested to see if it is sand from stones.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms the possibilities of UTI and kidney stones have been ruled out by urine tests and ultrasound. It is important to rule out any bladder infection as well. Also urethral syndrome or urethritis has to be ruled out. It is a primarily female syndrome in which women suffer from irritative bladder symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, burning , and a hesitant or slowed urinary stream) in the absence of any objective urologic findings.
