Avatar n tn E with severe pain in my back right hand side just underneath my ribs. After many scans, tests and ultrasounds I was told I had kidney stones. After months more of scans and wasted time I saw a kidney stone specialist who has said the stones are still in my kidney and that the pain I am still experiencing is not caused by them. I'm now at a loss as to what it can be as I was sure the two were related, especially with so many people confirming kidney stones do cause a lot of pain.
Avatar n tn Has anyone who has suffered from kidney stones/kidney infections had any trouble with their periods? I had a long, painful period for three weeks and then the following month my period only lasted for two days but I still had a lot of pain - I was told that I could possibly have kidney stones as I had a urine infection and the pain could be linked to this.
Avatar m tn i have been to see my gp a month ago with kidney stones, painfull cramps ,the pain has gone but im passing alot of blood when i urinate and it also stings when i urinate which is about 20 times a day im male and 29 years old any help please
Avatar m tn The symptoms that you are describing are basically those of a person with a 5 mm kidney stone. I've had many stones over the years and those are the symptoms that I have every time with smaller and larger stones, with the possible exception of a POSSIBLE bladder wall thickening and that certainly not a definite. Don't worry yourself to death about anything until you have this additional test done.
Avatar f tn STart taking vitamins. Get a cat scan or ultrasound. You could have back pain from kidney/gall stones too. It could be an easy thing so dont pain. Cancer for ovarian is CA125 blood test - ask if they will do that too. Always get copies of your reports and tests and ask them to be explained to you. Keep looking for a reason. Maybe you have allergies and if so go to a dermatologist or allergist to find out. GOod luck.
Avatar m tn About three weeks ago I started to have some painful urination. I quickly noticed i was passing small seed like things in my urine. Avatar n tn my husband has just had kidney stones removed - is it normal to have extreme pain when passing urine?
Avatar m tn First off, many of the herbs and supplements suggested for kidney stones, at best, may aid in urine flow to some degree, but there is no plant or vitamin that can MELT kidney stones, because all stones are made with varying amounts of CALCIUM, which cannot be dissolved without risking losing other things made of calcium such as bones and teeth! Only Uric acid stones have the least amount of calcium content and therefore CAN be reduced in size through medication.
Avatar f tn This summer I experienced extreme pain in my right flank along with back pain on the right side and frequent urination. Dr thought it was either kidney stones or a pulled back muscle. After a couple of weeks this pain subsided, however then I developed swelling in my left foot that was thought to be gout. After a couple weeks this too subsided. Since Christmas I have been experiencing back pain on the right side, frequent urination again and occasional lower right abdominal and pelvic pain.
Avatar m tn Hello, Once a kidney stone reaches the ureterovesical junction where the ureter drains into the bladder, patients often experience frequency, urgency, and burning with urination or dysuria. In such kind of stones a stent is placed from above by a percutaneous procedure or cystoscopically. It is called double J stenting. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Hi, It does seem to me like you are having stones in the kidney. The symptom of pain you have described is very typical of it trying to be expelled from the body. Symptoms of kidney stones include colicky pain: "loin to groin". Often described as "the worst pain ever experienced." Other symptoms could be blood in the urine, due to minor damage to inside wall of kidney, ureter and/or urethra. Pyuria: pus in the urine. Dysuria: burning on urination when passing stones.
Avatar n tn If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain as well as blood may appear in the urine. Your symptoms highly suggest kidney stones but I recommend that you have this evaluated further by your doctor. Diagnosis is through an x ray or ultrasound. The results of these tests help determine the proper treatment. Furthermore, the chance of recurring stones is high. That is why it is also important to determine which type of stone is formed to prevent the formation.
Avatar f tn If there were kidney stones, then together with other symptoms, you'd experience burning during urination. Kidney stone can cause really strong and sharp colic pain on one side of abdomen (going elswhere from the kidney area in the back or by (usually) one side of abdomen down to the groin. This pain usually causes constipation. Gas, bloating, diarrhea...this goes more with diverticulitis. Temperature means infection, you should get antibiotics (probably according to stool culture).
Avatar f tn Have you had any fevers, painful urination, or blood in your urine? Perhaps you are suffering from a kidney infection or kidney stones. Is the pain sharp or dull? Does it come and go or is it constant? I would ask your doctor about doing an ultrasound, MRI or CT scan. Blood tests can be helpful in leading doctors down the right road to a diagnosis, but many times they are useless and other tests need to be done.
Avatar n tn Hello, These can be the symptoms of kidney stones or nephrolithiasis. Kidney stones have pain in loin. Kidney stones are usually associated with decreased frequency of urination. You should go for ultrasound abdomen. Please consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
632093 tn?1230345966 Other causes such as kidney infections, kidney disease; kidney injury; or inherited disorders such as sickle cell anemia may also need to be ruled out. Home test kits are not advisable at this point. A complete physical as well as pelvic examination may need to be done to reach a diagnosis. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Get a culture sensitivity test for both semen and urine done. Also it could be due to referred pain of kidney stones. An ultrasound of the lower abdomen will be able to rule out kidney stones. It could be due to cancer of testis. It could be due to varicocele or spermatocele. An ultrasound of the testicles will diagnose cancer, varicocele and spermatocele. Painful intercourse can be due to STDs, tight foreskin, infections or scar tissues from previous surgeries. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn some pain in my left kidney which I have a small stone. Frequent urination and afterwards still feels like I need to go again.
Avatar m tn its either kidney stones or gallbladder ..galllbladder stones cause pain that radiates from the front to the back..and a bit higher than you describe but everyones anatomy is different...mention gallbladder cause you say no difficulty or pain voiding.
Avatar n tn Dark spots that appear on kidney ultrasounds can represent cysts, abscesses, abnormalities of the blood vessels, kidney stones, old calcifications or kidney cancer. Cysts on the kidney are usually harmless and large cysts may need surgical treatment if they are producing symptoms. Each of these condition mentioned above will present will associated symptoms and signs like burning urination, increased frequency of urination, weight loss etc.A CT scan will definitely be helpful.
Avatar f tn To diagnose a UTI please get a complete urine examination and urine culture done. Symptoms of UTI are frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, passing of blood in urine and even fever. Drink plenty of water but if the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a urologist and get kidney stones ruled out by getting a CT KUB (kidney, urinary bladder). I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn The common causes for painless bleeding in the urine are infections of the kidney/bladder, disorders of the kidney/bladder, certain blood disorders, strenuous exercise and certain medications. The commonest causes are urinary tract infection or kidney stones. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. He may do tests like urine analysis, blood tests, X rays, ultrasonography, CT scan and sometimes cystoscopy to detect the cause for painless hematuria.
Avatar n tn I have had half a dozen kidney stones in the last year or so. This definitely sounds like it could be a stone. The pain generally happens as the stone goes into the ureter and travels to the bladder. Once in the bladder, it doesn't usually hurt too much but may cause frequent urination, etc. If you don't have anymore pain, i would just strain your urine for awhile and wait to pass the stone. If you have more pain, you can go to the ER and have a scan done.
