Avatar f tn Yesterday I went into the ER, l was having horrible pain on my right side right under my rib. They did a cat scan and xray and told me that I have tw kidney stones one in each kidney. I still have no pain on my right side and am wondering if I ever will or if it will just disappear? Secondly the pain on my left side got worse over night, it has moved down a little and wrapped around to my back. The pain is bearable and then out of nowhere unbearable and worse in my back.

Avatar m tn I'm figuring that kidney stones take a while to form and that, if I have kidney stones and possibly an infection, it's likely that I had the kidney stones first and they contributed to the infection, rather that having an infection first that contributed to the kidney stones (sorry if this sounds confusing).
Avatar f tn Because I have not long ago written about kidney stones in reply to another question in this forum, I am pasting what I wrote below so that you will know what to look out for. The kidney stone will cause you problems with urinary infections as it moves, or travels down. This is because it scratches as it moves and then when bacteria enters the wounds, infection sets in.
Avatar f tn She was very sick just over a week before she was diagnosed, and they don't know if she was sick from the kidney stones,or if she had the stomach flu,and getting dehydrated caused the kidney stones. However she never really got too "dehydrated" when she was so sick. She did vomit alot, but was still having plenty of urine. So who knows. Any experience on how long these things take to pass? Thanks again.
409451 tn?1206900232 I've also been bloated for about 2 months. (Also, my dad has aweful kidney stones) I was referred to urologist, he thinks it's endo, ordered ct scan, but I haven't had it yet...does anyone have any suggestions or similar issues, I'm feeling really lost and confused!!??
Avatar n tn but i sit here , on the toilet typing this , as for the last two days i have had horrific cramps and diahorra (sp) . Its heart warming to know that all my symptoms are of those relating to kidney stones .
Avatar m tn How long it takes to pass a kidney stone depends on how much water you drink also...at the age of 60 I have learned when I feel pain the first thing I think of is to drink some Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water as strong as my taste will allow and as much as my taste will allow...I believe the vinegar makes the stones brittle so they will break down easier...I believe it also removes the stickiness from them so again they break down and don't cluster together...
Avatar n tn You have developed hydroureter and hydronephrosis due to collection of urine above the site of obstruction. You must not ignore this as long standing obstruction can lead to damage to the kidney. The optimal approach for managing ureteral calculi depends on several factors like the size and location of the stone, and the presence and/or absence of any associated medical co morbidities.
1301089 tn?1290670171 I know this probably isn't the best forum for this but I know all of you and trust you. Also, others have posted about kidney stones here in the past. I have a terrible pain on my right flank. I wake up with it and it only gets worse as the day wears on. It is going on a week now. I've been more nauseated than usual. I also have more severe pain in the bladder and groin area. My Lortab aren't even touching this. I am still on my feet but just barely.. I drink lots of water.
Avatar m tn I had a CT scan in October (which detected kidney stones) I have had two u/s - one in April and one in July to check for stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). I have had two flat panel x-rays (June/July) prior to each lithotripsy to locate stones. (Stones were the only thing seen). All other tests from my physical are normal. I have an appointment with my PCP next week. I am going to mention endometriosis.
Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?
452063 tn?1324078516 I have seen at least a dozen posts with kidney stones. There has to be some correlation between opiate use and kidney stones. My surgeon showed me mine on the CT scan and it's a white circle as big as a golfball. He feels it might be from chemicals but said that it's probably from my chemo. I keep thinking that he is gonna pull out a big white opiate that either says Endo or Watson on it lol. Just wondering if anyone else was told theirs was from chemicals?
Avatar n tn I'm up to 10 to 15 a day now and take five just to get me moving in the morning. This is no way to live. How long and how hard are the with drawals from it? I don't want to live my life around this drug anymore. Just a word of encouragment some times is what I think I need and to know that I am not alone.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any experience with a virus that seems to effect the colon with symptoms that would suggest kidney stones? Symptoms include lower left back pain also noted in the front left lower abdomen. Diarreha noted at onset but no fever or vomiting. Pain reoccurs for minutes to hours but is not debilitating. My family dr. suggested a type of dysentary that manifests itself in the colon trough. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with this type of ailment.
15905440 tn?1443866928 I think you may be looking for one, simple, answer but that answer may not be available. First, I would suggest that after your next surgery, you have your Urologist send the kidney stone off to a lab and have it analized. That will tell you what your stone is primarily made of. For example, in my case, many years ago I had one of my stones sent to a lab and found that my stones are primarily made up of iron and calcium.
Avatar f tn Drink lots of warm water, and do kapalbhati pranayam for more than 20 minutes, twice a day. In a few weeks, the kidney stones will be flushed out. After the stones are out, let me know what other benefits you noticed, and I will suggest some techniques to stimulate the thyroid and parathyroid. Kapalbhati pranayam -(Do it before eating) Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute. Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second.
Avatar n tn I'm 22 years old, and have suffered with kidney stones for 2 years, ranging from 1 mm to one thats in me right now which is over 10mm! On two separate occasions, when being seen in the ER while in ridiculous amounts of pain, I have been told by doctors that I shouldn't be in pain because there is no obstructing stone. Bull, I say. Renal Colic is a very distinct type of pain, and believe me, there is no mistaking it. I had one doctor go so far as to tell me it must be muscular back pain..
Avatar f tn I've been having a lot of pain on my right side, front, back and side and the pain takes my breath away. I had CT scans and ultra sound to determine if I had kidney stones. Then they sent me for x-rays with contrast and I was told I had a floating Kidney. The nurse for his office said there was nothing that I could do for the pain. "Just deal with it". Wow how can I when the pain takes my breath away and the pain is so bad that I have to lay down in bed until it goes away.
Avatar f tn Yes your pain could be from kidney stones and your pain probably won't be gone completely ,IF IT IS KIDNEY STONE (S), until they are dealt with and gone, by whatever method.
Avatar f tn The withdrawal symptoms are going to depend on a bunch of factors like age, amount of use, drug of choice, and how long you have used. General health also plays a part in this. So, yes everyone is different. What do you mean by 'do regular meds make wd worse or better?' ? Are you asking if you are taking the opiates on a regular basis does that increase the length of detox symptoms?
Avatar f tn Here they tested blood and urine and said no infection could be found but could be kidney stones and would send me for ultra sound to check. They put me on fluids and a drip of paracetamol over night. the next morning i woke up to very swollen hands and face but was told it wasn't bad enough to consider a concern and was forgotten about.
Avatar f tn One thing to consider it that in your case the large quick forming stones are a symptoms of an active infective stones. I believe and research supports that for many a biofilm infection actually set up with in the calcifications. Stones cause infection and infection cause stones. It is a vicous cycle. The key is getting the bacteria basically controlled. We can never kill it but by controlling it you can prevent new stone formation.
Avatar n tn I found out this year that they have always been kidney stones. I was sent to a urologist and told that I have multiple stones in BOTH kidneys. They want to do a 24-hour urine test, but since I keep getting stones, the test keeps getting put off. In the past two weeks, I've had 3 stones. Upon stone analysis, they found it is 100% calcium oxalate, which I've read is the most common stone type.
