kidney-stones

Avatar m tn I'm figuring that kidney stones take a while to form and that, if I have kidney stones and possibly an infection, it's likely that I had the kidney stones first and they contributed to the infection, rather that having an infection first that contributed to the kidney stones (sorry if this sounds confusing).
409451 tn?1206900232 I've also been bloated for about 2 months. (Also, my dad has aweful kidney stones) I was referred to urologist, he thinks it's endo, ordered ct scan, but I haven't had it yet...does anyone have any suggestions or similar issues, I'm feeling really lost and confused!!??
Avatar n tn Weturner, there IS a connection between "bipolar" and kidney stones. His 'bipolar' symptoms and kidney stones are very possibly caused by the same thing. It is called Hyperparathyroidism. Most people have never heard of PARAthyroid glands. But we all have four of them. Please have your husband's parathyroid checked out by the best expert you can find. I was put on medications for years for mental things such as bipolar, I was also getting kidney stones a lot.
Avatar f tn With your symptoms, I would advise you to see a urologist. It does sound like kidney stones, but either way, you need to have this taken care of.
Avatar f tn Have you been properly assessed along this line? Was a scan done to establish the presence of these stones? Kidney stones may be asymptomatic depending on their size and the presence of underlying disease conditions like structural anomalies involving the urinary tract. They may present as a dull vague pain over the flank. They may present as a benign back pain. In some patients, the back may be slightly tender when the physician gently hits the area with closed fists.
Avatar m tn IM 25 I HAVE HAD KIDNEY STONES BEFORE , I HAVE NOT HAD THEM FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS ,I JUST PAST ONE TWO WEEKS AGO . BUT NOW MY TESTICLES ARE LIFTING .
Avatar m tn o Kidney stones induced by trauma: 1999 : severe bleeding, very small stones passed.
Avatar m tn So according to test results, I have no kidney infection and no kidney stones because according to my doctor, kidney stones will show some trace of blood in my detailed urine exam. Also note that during the episode of my back/kidney ache, my chest pain was very little to almost gone. Although they came back a little bit but not to the point that i would go crazy.

192055 tn?1263559137 I have every symptom of kidney stones and its runs in every female in my family. -For 2 weeks had extreme sharp pack pains -Then turned into a dull, constant pain in my lower right back (kidney) -Went to the doc, found blood, no bacteria, in my urine -Slowly both kidneys started to hurt... -All of a sudden, one night, i was sitting down, I got really hot, started to sweat, and felt nauseated. I felt something moving in my left abdomin... not a pro but felt like it could be a stone moving down.
Avatar m tn When it first began it was so painful that I went repeatedly to the doctors, who initially thought it was kidney stones, as there was a small amount of blood in my urine. I have had a kidney function blood test, which came back fine, a sample of urine was sent to the lab, which also came back fine, and I have also had a CT Scan, and again, I was told this was fine. This made everyone think that I had passed the stones.
477746 tn?1254788147 I have had 14 kidney stones and 3 surgeries for them. I was given Demerol and Toridol!!!
Avatar f tn So for about the last 5 days I've had a dull annoying pain on my left side, kidney area. It feels sort of like a pressure almost gas bubble like, and sort of pulled muscle. Motrin seems to help but I hate taking it constantly. I also haven't been feeling 100% in general, more tired then usual and slight stomach issues, just all around not great. I'm fairly prone to kidney stones so I know what that feels like and I'm pretty sure that's not it.
Avatar f tn Left, colicy, upper-abdominal pain radiating into your back. Nausea & lightheadedness, heartburn & headaches. Problems with your stool... My thing is kidney-stones (and most/all things renal related), and that's got all the symptoms of a stone, or a kidney-infection (or possibly a UTI). Colicy pain that radiates into your back is sometimes an indication of renal issues.
Avatar m tn My symptoms are pain in the kidney areas which spreads round to the stomach. The pain is more a dull ache than a stabbing pain and it feels like it sometimes spreads up my back also. Ive had general itching all over, itchy genitals, spells of feeling unwell, spells of constant need to urinate. My symptoms are there almost every day even though some days are better than others. There sending me for a cystoscopy and CAT scan next. Im extremely worried that damage is being done to my kidneys.
Avatar f tn Some people may be sensitive to extremely small amounts of lactose-containing foods, while others can eat larger amounts before they notice symptoms. A couple of times i had Kidney stones and many times over the years very mild food poisoning not serious enough for medical attention. 2014 66 now and my fibrous is in the F3? range so hoping to start treatment soon. Hopefully and most likely it's not something serious unless as noted above.
Avatar n tn Musculoskeletal pain typically gets worse with movement, and is relieved by heat or massage. Common causes of kidney pain include kidney stones, kidney infection or pyelonephritis, and any bleeding within the kidney from injury or otherwise, where the blood supply is suddenly cut off because of blockage of the artery to the kidney. It would be best to have it evaluated by your doctor. Ultrasound or xray may be done to better visualize the structures. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Are there other signs or symptoms present? Are you still experiencing the pain? Kidney pain usually is felt in the flank area, and not on the upper abdomen. Can you elaborate on your blood pressure readings? If it persists, i would recommend that you have this evaluated further by your doctor. With your history of elevated blood pressure and tachycardia, other tests such as ECG and blood tests may be done to rule out cardiac and gastrointestinal causes.
Avatar f tn , the stones in my stones are not in the position to be causing any pain, but I can't deny the fact that I have this pain that comes and goes. I've been told that dull pain is not associated with kidney stones, but I DO have stones and 2 of these "dull sickening" pain episodes resulted in stones, so I'm not making this up. I'm just frustrated with this whole thing and not knowing why I have stones, how to prevent them, or what I can do to keep this pain totally away.
Avatar f tn I know how you feel, although I haven't had spasms everyday, I have experienced them on occasion. It is worse than kidney stones. Undescribible pain!! It could be a number of things. Your kidney could be floating, you could have hydronephrosis, your renal artery could be obstructed and the blood supply is cut off intermittantly, and of coarse the old kidney stone is a possiblity. You really need some test done to see what is going on. I know how hard it is to find a good urologist.
Avatar m tn ive been drinking lots of cranberry juice and its helped to ease the pain of urination but still hurts when i've just finished urinating. Do I have kidney stones or a kidney infection or just a simple UTI? This discussion is related to Dull pain in right side and back.
Avatar f tn When she was finally diagnosed previously, after days of intense pain, the stones were still in the kidney, so her original stones caused pain for her before they ever moved out of the kidney. She has had no other symptoms, and for now she is feeling great. She was a bit discouraged when we left the dr, wondering what in the world could "mimic" the stones, if it wasn't the stones.
Avatar n tn Also, stones present before the the bladder (in kidney and in promimal ureter) has less chance of expulsion than stones present in urethra or at the junction of bladder and urethra. Medications, such as a combination of tamsulosin and a corticosteroid are often given to help expel the stone. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Along with it you need to take plenty of fluids, cranberry juice, apple cider etc.
Avatar m tn It wouldn't hurt to take a pumpkin seed oil supplement. It may help you not have kidney stones and help your kidney.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there.
Avatar n tn I'm a 26 year old female with a family history of kidney stones. In Jan 09, I experienced a dull aching pain in my side that lasted for a couple weeks and then went away. I experienced something similar in late Feb 09 and after a week of this pain, I went to the clinic (I'm in the military). The dr couldn't find anything wrong and said I must ahve pulled an abdominal muscle. However, since I mentioned my dad has had over 40 stones in his life, he sent me for an x-ray.
Avatar m tn It helps tremendously and would ease some pain until you get to a doctor. I think a kidney infection would cause a dull pain. I have had that before. If it is between the bottom of your rib cage and above your hip bone (but in the back) it probably is a kidney infection. When I have had a kidney infection, I also had a bladder infection. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!!
192055 tn?1263559137 Sister has had many uti's, kidney infection, and kidney stones around my age. For the last 2 week I have had sharp cramp like pains shooting through my lower right side of my back, under my rib cage. It would happen 1-2 times a day. Yesterday it happened 3-4 times while my friend was with me within a 20 min period... she said it sounds like I am starting to get a kidney infection, she has had one before and she said my symptoms were like hers.
