Kidney stones and joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones and joint pain

Avatar m tn In addition I have pain in the epiditimis (right side only) and joint pain (right side only) mostly in the hip and knee but also the hand back and ankle and this has been getting worse progressively. Most recent tests have also shown slightly raised ESR levels, CRP and white blood cell count normal.
Avatar n tn The reason I ask is because several of your symptoms, especially the gut probs and kidney stones are included in hyperparathyroidism which Drs don't look for very often. Do you have frequent headaches, joint and muscle pain, and fatigue? If so, check out and look at the symptoms listed there...This may not be what is going on, but it may point you in the right direction...Good luck...
Avatar f tn It has been two weeks and now both feet are swollen severely and he is having severe joint pain in toes, ankles, knees, wrist, elbows and fingers. He also has hard red lumps show up on legs, right hand and feet along with red hot patches on feet. He is complaining of his feet and legs tender to touch and a warm burning sensation on skin when touched. Also he said his feet are itching. He can barely walk and is in tears at this point. We have been to the emergency room and the doctors.
Avatar f tn I have fatigue and no motivation to do anything. I have weight gain and hair loss. I also get kidney stones frequently. I have tested for autoimmune diseases and they came back negative but my CRP was elevated. My NP said she thought it was an overuse injury because I have 2 kids. It doesn't make sense to me. I have also developed a red rash across my cheeks and nose. I have typical lupus symptoms but tested negative What else could it be?
Avatar m tn its my first time after that i stop my activites .from next day itselft i fear about HIV i got muscles and joint pain some time ,and now i got some rashes in my body . but i not get any fever . i have stones in my two side kidney im had tablet for that last one month.plz help me.
Avatar n tn Heart valve issues (heart problems can initiate joint problems, or false joint problems and fatigue), hypopituitarism, kidney problems, sugar/glucose issues, and something that causes fluid to pool in the legs and there's not enough power to be pumped back out causing the fatigue. I can't recall what that is. Also, I read somewhere once that sometimes when the blood needs to reduce it's volume, that excessive urination will follow.
Avatar f tn stomach infections...severe bladder infections..joint pain...headaches...dizzy spells..tired alot...thirsty...kidney pain..well i had no ins and was on a gov. health program and was able to see their doctors and come to find out i have stones in my kidneys that can never be passed nor labs were done and my calcium was high..sodium high..b12 low..they checked my thyroid and came back fine...
Avatar f tn I mentioned I have a history of kidney issues and that was dismissed. I have been having some pain off and on under my ribcage and in my back, but nothing excruciating. My questions are: for those of you with multiple stones in your kidneys, were they normally removed or were they left alone? mine are calcium oxolate stones. Also, do you think I should make an appointment with a nephrologist? I have no idea what is causing my problems, obviously, but am concerned about the kidney issue.
Avatar f tn I am also having terrrible joint and muscle pain after starting 2000IU of vitamin D3 once or twice a day. I eat healthy and am very active. I started vitamin D as a "fill in the blanks" after reading all the internet hype that it won't take a lot to overdose. Almost immediately my joints and muscles started to hurt, like really hurt, I was scared I needed knee replacement it was that bad. I stopped the vitamin D and it's slowly gone away.
Avatar n tn I am a 57 year old female with migratory joint and muscle pain. It ranges from mild to debilitating. I have had this for several years. The doctor says I have rheumatoid arthritis even though the blood tests do not show the antibodies. His diagnosis is based on the finger and hand deformities in one hand and the painful joints and swelling of joints. I also have experienced weight loss, from 150 to 120 pounds in 6 months.
Avatar n tn Kidney stones Causes Gout is caused by having higher-than-normal levels of uric acid in your body. Your body may make too much uric acid, or have a hard time getting rid of uric acid. If too much uric acid builds up in the fluid around the joints (synovial fluid), uric acid crystals form. These crystals cause the joint to swell up and become inflamed. Not everyone with high uric acid levels in the blood has gout. The exact cause is unknown. Gout may run in families.
Avatar m tn I kept telling him about my right side pain and breath problem and he said it was muscles and that the breath had nothing to do with my liver. My pain is a lot better and my breath has improved a lot I cant smell it but wife can a little. I have a copy of my report and can tell you any of the results that you might know are indicators of problems. The doctor said enzines are an indicator of liver problems and mine were ok.
Avatar n tn Julia... I have experienced all of you several additional ones... It took me several years to get treatment... My blood pressure stayed in the 225/125 range for several years...going even higher at night....Osteoperina.....muscle & joint pain...Migraine headaches....ringing in my ears....severe constipation...3 bouts of kidney stones in a years time...just to name a few.... I went to my regular Dr....Encrinologists...Surgerons...etc....
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. My kidney stone problem is a problem with oxalate. I think I will stop the turmeric for now. I am disappointed, as I thought this would help the arthritis. I certainly don't want kidney stone problems again. The calcium supplement I take is calcium citrate (not carbonate). Since I already take a prescription potassium citrate (Urocit-K), I guess the turmeric would be keeping that from doing its job of breaking down the oxalate.
Avatar m tn Uric Acid can cause Gout/Arthritis or joint pain. Just Google “Kidney’s and Joint Pain” I was told to eat a lot of cherries.
592774 tn?1325397342 i started taking ibuprofen for all the joint pain going on.with my pain med too.i feeling better but still very tired.i always was told no nsaids ever .so what do your dr.s say about taking them??
Avatar n tn I have MSK in both kidneys and my left side is completely covered with large and small stones. The right kidney used to be just as bad but that is were all the stones have fallen from. I have had stents and Litho done. I am so angry that this was never communicated to me. I feel like my old urologist didn't know what he was doing and just treated me as problems came up! I have been complaining for years about the back and joint pain.
4226456 tn?1354123528 I had a lot of extrahepatic manifestation prior to treatment (including pretty severe fatigue and no energy, back pain and spasms, hip and knee pain, other joint pain, creeping glucose levels, astham, allergies, and many others. I also had wrist pain, similar to yours but that is gone now. Since Tx I have zero fatigue, tons of energy, no back pain, decreasing glucose levels, no problem with asthma, allergies better, and a lot less joint pain and aches.
Avatar n tn Then within the past 3 days I have the same pain in the front part of my hip/abdomen area with the pain extending diagonally down towards my groin. I have had kidney stones in the past and I'm not sure if that is whats reoccurring, or if its just simple muscle strain but I haven't really done anything in the past week that would cause a strain. Any advice or treatment that I can do for that pain would be helpful. Thanks.
1926947 tn?1322990201 Last year I also started having problems with multiple kidney stones. After my first emergency surgery for stones in my left kidney everything went down-hill. I have urethral stenosis, stricture disease and large amounts of scar tissue in my left ureter. The doctor placed a stent that my body rejected and they had to removed it within 4 days. My stones are made up of uric acid however uric acid levels in my blood are normal but in my urine they are sky high.
1549643 tn?1495762953 95% of lupus patients have joint pain with or w/o swelling. 90% have muscle pain. If all you have is muscle pain, you might have fibromyalgia or polymyalgia. What are your symptoms and has any of the lab been off? Have they tested your ANA?
Avatar f tn at first it was just tender and i had blood in my urine and was told it was kidney stones and had a xray but no stones found. full bloods and internal swabs all normal.I had last had an utlra sound of my uterus and kidneys when my youngest was 4months old, that was fine. gradually the pain had progressed to my lower back and right side of my back.. been to my doctors so many times. one doctor said it was my sacroiliac joint. Since then ive had 2 uti's.
Avatar m tn At the end of deoxyclicin, the pain got worst and it developed tightening sensation at lower stomach and pain in only in the left testicle and occational joint pain. I got cystoscopy done, no significant findings, also ultrasound scan for kidney stones, nothing found. Then i had ultrasound scan for testicles for epidymitis, nothing found. I asked my doctor to prescribe azithoromycin, after too much hesitant he prescribed it for 5 day course( 500mg 1st day, 250 mg for remaining 4 days).
Avatar m tn Saw the urologist yesterday and he says typically stones that are still in the kidney don't cause pain. I am having another u/s on July 1 to look for the stone on the left. He did say u/s in April could have missed it. Have tentatively scheduled lithotripsy on the left kidney for mid-July. I feel like I'm in that movie "Groundhog Day" -- I know the discomfort isn't in my head. Have been to my primary, OB/GYN had complete physical, vaginal u/s, etc. everything is normal.
Avatar n tn Over a 4 year period I had experienced increasing problems with joint, muscle, and bone pain, headaches, heartburn, kidney stones (7 in 2 years!) gut issues (mostly constipation), hot flashes, palpitations, period irregularities, etc. In a nutshell, I had 11 of the 18 symptoms when a stuck kidney stone put me in the hospital. It was then they found the elevated calcium (by the way, PTH and calcium levels should either be right in the middle, or at opposite ends of the ranges.
Avatar f tn My dog was given doxycycline and pain meds. She was throwing up everyday and we went back to the er to get sucralfate for possible ulcers and an anti-nausea...still no bloodwork. 2 weeks later, my dog had complete leg lameness, wouldn't get up and was vomiting on herself on her bed. We take her to the vet who finally does full panel and we are rushed to the er vet for fluids. Come to find out now 3 weeks later, my dog is diagnosed with esrd.
