Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones and bladder pain

kidney-stones

Avatar n tn I passed four and since around 24 weeks have one blocking urine flow from my kidneys to my bladder causing swelling and extreme pain. I have been on and off of pain killer s since the pain cause s pre mature labor and that is more risky. The only advice I have is a heating pad, drink tons of water and orange juice and lemonade also lemon in your water. I know how you feel! And if it gets bad enough they can give you stronger than tylonel. Vicaden and percacet are perfectly fine.
Avatar n tn I have had half a dozen kidney stones in the last year or so. This definitely sounds like it could be a stone. The pain generally happens as the stone goes into the ureter and travels to the bladder. Once in the bladder, it doesn't usually hurt too much but may cause frequent urination, etc. If you don't have anymore pain, i would just strain your urine for awhile and wait to pass the stone. If you have more pain, you can go to the ER and have a scan done.

Avatar n tn I am having very frequent urinations with pelvic pain, bloating and traces of blood in my urine. Culture and Urinary tests were negative for bacteria and xray show no sign of kidney stones. What could be wrong?
Avatar f tn This is always a possibility when ureteroscopy is done to eliminate stones. The tip of the stent rubs against the bladder, and can cause bladder pain or a feeling of always needing to urinate. The stent does widen the ureter to make a return look much easier to get the stones out.
Avatar n tn Smaller stones may partially block the thin tubes that connect each kidney to your bladder or the outlet from the bladder itself. These stones may cause ongoing urinary tract infections or kidney damage if left untreated. Treatment options: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). This is a commonly used procedure for treating kidney stones. It uses shock waves to break the stones into tiny pieces that are then passed in your urine.

Avatar f tn We did many tests and the findings were elevated urea and creatinine, elevated calcium and kidney and bladder stones. The vets disagree on her condition, one thinks that the seizures are caused by the kidneys and the other that the kidneys and the seizures are not related. So far she has not started antiepileptic medication. We changed her food to Hill's k/d and her blood tests are much improved. The stones also seem to reduce. However, the seizures insist and I am very worried.
11610581 tn?1419814808 If they did a urinealysis and found that your urine was clear (your words) then they probably meant that you had no blood in your urine and therefore you did not have a kidney stone. Usually with a kidney stone, although many times you can't see it with your naked eye, there will be blood in your urine. That is probably why they didn't do a Cat Scan, as they felt there wasn't a kidney stone causing your pain and problem.

Avatar m tn I have had numerous kidney-stones, both renal & ureteral (and a few bladder thrown in for good measure), but I can't say that the stones have ever caused the tip on my penis any type of pain. Of the top of my head, and without really knowing anything about what you have going on, it's difficult to say whether or not your stones and your pain are related in any way. In my experience, I'd say that they are UNRELATED to one another.
192055 tn?1263555537 t show any stones. I felt something move from my kidney to my bladder 2 days after the scan. Pain resided a little bit... just maybe a sharp pain 2-3 times a week. Beginning of Sept the pain came back severely so I went to the hospital again. This time they found a lot of blood in my urine (Level 3+ which is the highest level I hear) and ordered me another CT scan... came back normal. Again, felt something move 2 days after my scan... pain gradually went away but not completely.
Avatar f tn The common causes are infections in the bladder or prostate, inflammations of the kidney, stones in the bladder or elsewhere in the urinary tract and tumours of the urinary tract like warts, benign growths and cancers. For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .Few doctors also recommend Tamsulosin to speed the passage of stones.

Crystals are just small bladder stones, and with careful monitoring the crystals will be found before they are large enough to cause an obstruction or urolith.
