Passing kidney stones pain

Common Questions and Answers about Passing kidney stones pain

Avatar m tn Yes, they will hurt when their moving. Have you been to see your Dr to see if this is indeed what's going on, your passing kidney stones? If not then you should see him/her as soon as you can or go to the hospital. Some of them are too large to pass and they can do a painless procedure to break them into very tiny pieces, plus you'll get pain meds.

Avatar f tn Why will my urologist NOT give me anything for pain from kidney stones? I have been passing 10+ kidney stones for about 9 weeks now. Just started seeing an urologist last week and he says he doesn't know what's causing my pain and can't give me anything. Said I need to see a pain management doctor. I don't understand what he means by the stones shouldn't be causing pain, I've brought in the stones I've passed.
Avatar n tn I had surgery a week ago to shockwave my kidney stones and had a stint put in to help with the passing of the stones. I have had one week of very painful urination. I feel the pain worse after I have urinated. I can not see that I have passed any of the stones but it is so painful to urinate. I was on antibiotics for 5 days so I don't think it is an infection. Is the feeling I am feeling grains of stones being passed? I am afraid this pain is never going away.
Avatar m tn i have been to see my gp a month ago with kidney stones, painfull cramps ,the pain has gone but im passing alot of blood when i urinate and it also stings when i urinate which is about 20 times a day im male and 29 years old any help please
Avatar m tn Every time I urinate ( which is like 20 times a day) it feels like I'm passing blades and I get a sharp pain in my kidney. There is also blood present that I can see, but not every time I urinate, mostly in the mornings and later in the evenings. I must admit that the pain is getting better everyday. My question is, are all these symptoms normal and when can I take the pipe thingy out?
Avatar f tn my heart goes out to him they say the pain when passing stones is like giving birth, my boyfrind suffers from kidney stones ive seen him in such bad pain that he cant move and his urine the colour of cranberry juice, i know your proberly sick of being told the same thing but while hes actually passing a stone all he can do is take plenty of painkillers and drink loads of water to flush the stone out easier, my boyfriend had lipotripsy which sends shock waves to the kidneys what basically crum
Avatar m tn If you only had one stone, slight discomfort after passing it is possible, but that discomfort should not last very long. 3 mm stones normally do not cause me any discomfort after they pass. It's usually the ones bigger than 3 mm that cause me what I call "aftershocks", or discomfort for a little while after I pass a stone. That discomfort certainly doesn't last more than one day either and is very off and on and not steady discomfort.
Avatar n tn I just found out i have a kidney stone in my left kidney as well. it's 6mmc7mmx11mm. Very Large. The pain starts in the back and does radiate to the front. My pain brought me literally to my knees. I have had the lithotripsy, but it's a week later and the stone is still in the same place and they aren't sure if it worked or not. If the pain gets too unbearable go to the nearest emergency room if doctor isn't in.

Avatar f tn 20am I was rushed to the ER from sudden back pain that was unbearable I was so scared for my baby.. Came to the conclusion it's kidney stones and I became more terrified because there's not many pain killers they could give me other than tylenol and morphine, so about the last one I asked if it was ok for my baby, first they said not sure!!

1619332 tn?1299021545 Well just last Sunday my husband took me to the ER again because I in horrible pain and I knew what it was, it felt just like last time, just on my right side this time. Sure enough I was passing one of my right kidney stones. Well they called my Urologist up to the ER to come look over me and they saw the kidney stone that I was passing this time was 2.9 millimeters and it seemed to hurt so much worse this time. Well to make matters worse I had a 145 heart beat and was very low on potassium.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have kidney stones..? If so what do you do about it. It is SO painful..
Avatar f tn Congratulations on your pregnancy. Kidney stones are not uncommon and they can occur during pregnancy. It sounds like you are passing the stones (hard white balls when you urinate). Usually, your doctor will give you a strainer and have you strain all your urine. YOu then save the stones and they can be tested to determine what type of stones they are (for example if they are related to diet or not). IF you have not done this yet, you may want to ask your doctor about it.
540521 tn?1221703306 I have not yet passed the stones and i am still getting pain and the stones will not pass. The stones seem to bother me the most when i am standing and being active, Can kidney stones lead to kidney Failure? How much worse can this get? I don't know what else to do , I am at a loss, any help would be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You..
Avatar f tn There are other types as well ( cystine, struvite , uric) Kidney stones may hold a genetic predisposition. In your case, the presence of kidney formers in the family may explain the onset of kidney stones at an earlier age. It is best to open lines of communication with your physicians. At this point, you may discuss on whether a referral to a pain management specialist may help.Continue following physician's advice regarding diet, fluid intake and exercise.
1226479 tn?1267209290 Kidney stones can cause kidney damage silently. As my URO had reminded me... when I want to ignore the on off stone pain, stones cause pain when they begin to obstruct the urine from flowing freely to the bladder. (They can cause pain in the kidney etc. but that is a whole different discussion.) So if the stone turns it can relieve the pressure temporarily but then turn again at any time, leaving you double over with obstruction pain. The other serious concern is the size of the stone.
5900973 tn?1396067991 I found out monday I have kidney stones for the 2nd time this pregnancy... :( I am going in friday for my csection and just hoping the pain eases up for me or that I just pass the dang stone... I dont want to be dealing with that after the birth. It just seems like bad timing, not that there is a good time for these things... Tmi but my urine looks like cranberry juice, kinda scary but I know its from the stone. I have been drinking tons of water.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with kidney stones almost 3 years ago but I did not get them removed as my Dr told me they could not kill me or cause any life threatening diseases, but recentley I have noticed a little bit of stomach discomfort, I would like to say pain but it doesnt hurt , it kind of feels like something is there like gas, and my stomach gurgles a little bit and once in a while I will feel a little bit of a slight pinching pain in different spots over my belly , it feels like its through the b
Avatar n tn Since having kidney stones currently and knowing what they feel like not being pregnant, I can safely say that I have had stones at least 3 other times between the ages of 17 and 27 (pain at that time was diagnosed as most likely a cyst -- when pain was severe - shortly thereafter went away - they said cyst burst - i am confident that the pain was kidney stones). With that being said, I'm tired of getting the kidney stones (as well as the tiredness, soreness and moodiness).
Avatar f tn Finally after she was in excruciating pain a x-ray was done and they found 2 kidney stones in right kidney. They had me give her pain meds for 2 days and the dr's figured they passed. Since then had a couple days that she was in a little pain. Then today started having really bad pain again, and more bleeding in urine. We're hoping they pass this time, and we'll be done with this. We don't have a family history of these, and follow up with the dr. next week.
Avatar m tn Hello, Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
1278097 tn?1325615097 Stock yourself up on pain meds I always have a stock of Litalgin just in case. Litalgin is a great pain med and is meant for gallstone and kidney stone pain. Thats all that I can tell you, walk walk walk and pain relief.
Avatar m tn Well, today I found out it is not Kidney stones that are causing me the pain. Rather Gallbladder is not functioning properly. I was hospitalized with severe pain two days ago and released yesterday. Had a HIDA scan which confirmed my gallbladder is no longer working properly. So I am going to be having surgery to remove it on Wednesday. Thanks for your help again.
Avatar m tn 0 mm (small one) that stayed lodged in my kidney for 2 yrs playing havoc with pain and then one day it decided to let loose and I passed it and the pain of passing it was less than what I went through on/off for 2yrs. Then I had a 1.0mm one that got stuck very low and caused renal colic for over a week and the CT Scan showed it was very low and finally it passed, too. But yours may be stuck as the Dr above mentioned so I'd go for re eval. I went ev. 6mos for new tests.
