Avatar m tn i have been to see my gp a month ago with kidney stones, painfull cramps ,the pain has gone but im passing alot of blood when i urinate and it also stings when i urinate which is about 20 times a day im male and 29 years old any help please
Avatar m tn If you only had one stone, slight discomfort after passing it is possible, but that discomfort should not last very long. 3 mm stones normally do not cause me any discomfort after they pass. It's usually the ones bigger than 3 mm that cause me what I call "aftershocks", or discomfort for a little while after I pass a stone. That discomfort certainly doesn't last more than one day either and is very off and on and not steady discomfort.
Avatar m tn Kidney stones less than 5 millimeters in size almost always pass on their own while stones larger than 6 millimeters may not pass on their own. The pain from passing a kidney stone is typically sharp and cramping. It may begin in the back and side where the kidneys are located. As the stone moves down the ureter the location of the pain may sometimes change. It is fairly common for persons to feel pain in the groin and testes. Nausea, vomiting, and sweating chills are also common.
Avatar m tn Regarding your second question about severe pain before passing a stone, I feel I must clarify that the severe pain from a kidney stone is usually when the stone is passing through the kidney and can depend on stone size and shape as to how much pain you may experience. Once any stone I have ever had is completely through the kidney and into the bladder, I rarely have had any pain passing the stone out in my urine from that point and only a minor irritation if I had anything.
512560 tn?1222560127 The fact that your pain is getting worse seems to confirm the fact that your kidney is passing out stones. Keep drinking plenty of water as it will help in easy passage. If pain is too much you could getications prescribed for it.

1012861 tn?1250949418 I posted a question before about kidney stones that I have. I have 2 stones in my left kidney one 5mm and the other 2mm. I haven't had any problems with them in about a month and then last night out of no where I start having left sided flank pain and passing a lot of blood in my urine. I ended up going to the hospital for the pain. They did another CT scan and told me that the stones had not moved at all from the last CT. They gave me a shot of Torodol and sent me home.
Avatar f tn Come to find out I have two kidney stones one that is in the process of passing and one that is still in my kidney.. I am 27 weeks ... Has anybody else had kidney stones during their pregnancy? I'm honestly so miserable and I can't eat and I'm worried about my baby . Any suggestions ?
Avatar f tn This past friday at 1:20am I was rushed to the ER from sudden back pain that was unbearable I was so scared for my baby.. Came to the conclusion it's kidney stones and I became more terrified because there's not many pain killers they could give me other than tylenol and morphine, so about the last one I asked if it was ok for my baby, first they said not sure!!
Avatar f tn I had a 1, 3 and 6 mm stones (lower and mid pole) prior to a lithotripsy in July 2022. In November, kidney pain returned. A CT scan revealed 3 and 4 mm stones in lower pole, and 2 1 mm stones in renal collecting system (no idea what that is). I would consider this a failed lithotripsy -- now more stones that will likely grow and not passing. My doctor appointment is in 2 weeks. Not sure what to expect. I've had 3 lithotripsies -- may not be as effective as expected.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone,I was hoping someone could help me out.I went to the ER last Monday,I was having lower abdomen pain as well as some lower back pain and painful urination. The doctor seemed to think it was kidney stones so he did a ct scan.He said he couldn't see any stones but they could have been vry small and in my ureter{not sure of spelling} he also said he saw some diverticulitis in my colon and to make appointment with family doctor.
2186782 tn?1390581973 Thanks for the quick reply. Not passing any stones now. Just looking for a more palatable remedy then olive oil and lemon. Which works great if taken at the first signs. And I've had the "privlage" of passing about 4 more since my first stone.
Avatar f tn I have kidney stones and I'm pretty sure I'm not passing one but my right side is in alot of pain. It tends to happen now around my period. Also starting to get sharp pains in side my vagina. No pain when going pee. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me?

Avatar f tn My urologist says both my kidneys are full of stones. He said all but one are small enough to pass on my own. I want to get this over with! haha it's been 2 months since I was told I have many stones but I haven't noticed any stones passing. How do I get them to come out? I drink about 1.5-2 liters of water a day but hardly pee at all (i did two 24hr urine collections, 1st only had 0.9 liters of urine and the 2nd one only had 0.
1962386 tn?1325356133 s disease. Personally i do not think its the bergers disease because i am now passing kidney stones and the crystal level on my blood tests are coming back elevated. Any one have any thoughts?
714049 tn?1232641094 ruled out kidney stones. What could it be? I have constant pain, and the nausea is brought on with even a sip of water. PS: No chance I'm pregnant, I've had a hysterectomy, but do have my ovaries.
Avatar f tn s only considered pre-existing if you have been treated for an ongoing problem with your kidney. Individual kidney stones cannot be considered pre-existing. Get a ct scan from a doctor then talk to a urologist if it is a kidney stone. I was born with a condition that causes my body to create kidney stones. I have been to the emergency room 4 or 5 times in the past 18 years for the large stones, small ones pass ok.
1444601 tn?1305302023 Hi Jen, Sorry to hear about your chronic kidney stones. I don't have MSK but I do have an abnormal number of kidney stones. I also have a very stenotic right ureter which cannot be treated... as it is an old repair. So I know about that kind of pain and my heart goes out to you! Finding the right physician is important. I can take some searching. I am not sure if you have a specific question.... If so please feel free to be more specific.
Avatar m tn 0 mm (small one) that stayed lodged in my kidney for 2 yrs playing havoc with pain and then one day it decided to let loose and I passed it and the pain of passing it was less than what I went through on/off for 2yrs. Then I had a 1.0mm one that got stuck very low and caused renal colic for over a week and the CT Scan showed it was very low and finally it passed, too. But yours may be stuck as the Dr above mentioned so I'd go for re eval. I went ev. 6mos for new tests.
5900973 tn?1396064391 I found out monday I have kidney stones for the 2nd time this pregnancy... :( I am going in friday for my csection and just hoping the pain eases up for me or that I just pass the dang stone... I dont want to be dealing with that after the birth. It just seems like bad timing, not that there is a good time for these things... Tmi but my urine looks like cranberry juice, kinda scary but I know its from the stone. I have been drinking tons of water.
