Avatar n tn That was the week I went in to get fitted for the night guard. I told my dentist about the pain and he said it was normal to feel pain a week after a filling. A week later, still having pain. That's when I realized that the filling was too high and I went in for an adjustment. They made the adjustment but then I developed pain in my left jaw. So I went in for another adjustment.
Avatar n tn Not only does my jaw hurt but underneath my jaw. I just need some suggestions, should I find another dentist?
Avatar f tn it always hurts.. its a throbbing pain.
Avatar f tn Which they gave me a local. After the surgery a few weeks later my right jaw started hurting. I went to the ENT specialist and it turned out my ears were infected and full of fluid. My jaw continued to hurt. I received a full round of ATB. During this time I went to the dentist 2 times. No-one can figure out what is wrong with my jaw. In June I received bilateral tubes in my ears. The pain continued. I went to the Chiro x's 5. This give me relief for a short period.
Avatar m tn It was a fairly deep filling and on the x ray you could see that it was very close to the nerve. After the filling the dentist said I would be tender for a couple of days. It felt like there was something stuck between my teeth. Two days passed and the pain only increased. It reached the stage where I could not tell which jaw was sore let alone which tooth was hurting.
Avatar n tn Seeing a neurologist or orofacial pain specialist is advised. Current evidence suggests that early intervention of pharmacologic management is helpful to resume normal function of injured nerve.
Avatar n tn AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.
Avatar n tn I had a lot of pain and went back to the dentist who adjusted the bite - the pain continued - went back to the dentist who removed the temporary crown to ensure no infection - no evidence of infection but I was given antibiotics as a precaution. I had the permanent crown fitted with temporary cement as there was still a lot of pain. THe pain continued so the dentist removed the crown and gave me root canal treatment and fitted the permanent crown. The pain has continued.
Avatar n tn The lower front teeth may push upper front teeth due to forward shift of lower jaw. Seeing your restorative dentist to have more occlusal adjustment is advised.
Avatar m tn I bit really hard on a bone yesterday (didn't feel any immediate pain) and today the molar on the lower jaw is achy. There's a continuous small dull pain that doesn't bother me much unless I think about it. But it's there. I noticed that the tooth is slightly sensitive to hot (more hot than cold). Do you think the tooth's ligament got sprained or could this be a crack in the tooth? Or could this be something else?

Avatar n tn Go back to your dentist! In my case, the dentist had caused the disc in my jaw to cease to function when he pulled the tooth, I had to have a surgical procedure done. Twice. I don't have any idea if your's is the same, but I'd sure find out and soon. Go back to him, my dentist referred me to an oral surgeon who did the work. He also paid for it. Hope it gets better soon. I couldn't brush my teeth!
Avatar f tn Seeing an endodontist is advised. If pulp is not encroached by prep procedure, possible pain source is bite.
494996 tn?1209551293 the dentist cleaned the tooth out from decay and filled it. every since then i had pain in the join of my jaw and pain in the lower jaw and pain right over my eye. Now i am having pain in my right eye ear. could this be a sign of an sinus infection or could my my gum got infected. I also have pain in my mouth but not in the place where he filled it.
Avatar m tn Hello...a week ago I went to my dentist with excruciating tooth pain. He identified the issue as a tooth infection and scheduled a root canal for after the infection is cured. I had no swelling at the time. The pain lessened but was still noticeable since beginning the antibiotic (amoxicillin). This morning I woke up with the pain mostly gone from the tooth; however, my jaw is now swollen with what feels like a hard lump and is sensitive to being touched.
Avatar f tn Sometimes i can barely open my mouth in morning to brush my teeth. It sometimes locks and sometimes causes ear pain. My dentist has referred me to a jaw specialist in London. Still waiting for the letter.
Avatar f tn The pain continued in my jaw, ear, above my left eye. Dentist and I decide to remove the tooth after 5 months of no relief. Still the pain continues. Now he's concerned that the tooth next to it may be a problem as well. Sending me back to the endodontist. I continue to have pain in my jaw, behind my ear (which is oozing fluid occassionaly) neck and above my left eye. Could the nerve that runs along the jaw have been damaged from the initial injection?
Avatar n tn I am NOT a dentist. But, I had horrible pain once after a dental procedure. I couldn't even open my mouth. To make a long story short, I was finally diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndromd, and after about a week of medication to block the nerve pain, I was cured. The trick was that I found the right dentist/MD, Dr. Piper. He helps people with minor problems like mine, and people with very severe, long-standing problems. I was lucky to only be a few hours drive from him.
Avatar n tn i had a deep filling done yesterday and although i have taken 4 painkillers this morning nothing seemsto help the deep aching jaw pain andin top of cheek This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/422117'>pain and sensitivity after filling on different tooth</a>.
Avatar m tn Hi, Couple weeks ago I found out that I need 4 fillings to be done. ( 2 fillings for upper second and first molar and 2 fillings for lower third and first molar. Both left side. ) I had 2 upper fillings just a week ago without injection, it was fine, no pain at all. Yesterday I went to my dentist appointment and told that I don't need an injection, sadly it was too painful so dentist injected me couple times of some stuff.
Avatar f tn I had a crown procedure 3 weeks ago today on my very last bottom tooth and am still suffering from incredible pain in my ear and jaw. I have been to urgent care and returned to the dentist. She performed an xray and said the tooth is fine. I was first given Valium and Aleve for relief. The relief from this treatment last about 1 hour and the severe pain returned. I was then put on flexoril which takes the "edge" off for a couple of hours.
Avatar m tn Recently, (within the last 5 years) I have begun to experience issues with my jaw (this pertains to my hearing). These issues began after I was punched in the jaw. My jaw is constantly popping, catching and locking. This is extremely painful. I've been to the dentist and he told me I possibly have TMJ. Just recently, (within a week) I was eating and my jaw caught and produced one of the worst pains i'd ever felt. Seeing as i'd felt this before, it wasn't much cause for concern.
