I have jaw pain ear pain and neck pain. The ear pain is really bad. what can i do for it.

pain does not happen for no reason. it sounds like a dentist or oral surgeon would be best able to diagnose the problem. the sooner, the better, obviously.

I had an incident shortly after where I was trying to open my mouth to eat a cheese burger (tall homemade) when I got terrible pain in my jaw, like a dentist needle in my jaw. Since that incident, I have had pain everyday. I cant even eat right. The pain is worsening daily, yawning is extreamly painful. Swallowing has even been painful at times. I am now getting pain inside my throat, in my neck, my right side is the worst so my right ear goes muffled.

Have actually had jaw pain off and on but really thought it was a dental problem but am thinking more along the lines of Sx now because it is in both jaws. I emailed my doctor earlier today. Has anyone else had jaw pain. Both jaws have been effected and right now it is throbbing a bit. I emailed to ask my doctor if I should go and see a dentist anyway even though it may be due to the drugs. Not overwhelming or anything but there and throbbing none the less.

It is unlikely that eating something could have fractured your jaw, but the pain and swelling is a concern. It could be your jaw or a tooth? An x-ray will help diagnose why you are having the swelling. I would go see your dentist or if you don't have insurence go to an urgent care. Good luck!

If you break a tooth like that, the nerve in there can get damaged and hurt, and also the injury could have exposed the pulp to infection and thus make it swell. What you are describing sounds exactly like a toothache, which is usually caused by a cavity, but in this case, it was you banging and chipping your tooth.

AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.

alot of morning i wake up with one and im guessing its due to this jaw pain. is only on left side. do i go to the dentist or dr for this? had my wisdoms out yrs ago and had a bad infection, could this have anything to do with that?

There is NO PAIN except when I open my mouth....the jaw hurts, or the muscle in the jaw. Is this from the shots the dentist gave me before he extracted the tooth?

Wish I had known this earlier. As for the muscle pain, ask your dentist or doctor for a muscle relaxant, such as Flexiril, to help break up the spasms that can hurt badly. Good luck.

Sir i have a lower Jaw bone infection which is from one year. A doctor a year ago performed endodontic surgery in my lower jaw and removed infected tissue and bone in my lower four teeth. But infection again developed resulting in Jaw bone infection. I want to ask whether one year infection in bone can be cured with medicine and is clindamycin best for it or there is surgery required to remove the dead and infected bone.

If there is no decay or crack identified on the offending tooth, further investigation of the source of pain is warrented. I have had a sore throat for almost 14 days now, accompanied by infrequent stabbing pain in my jaw. I know that it's not normal to have a sore throat for this long (it's on my right side, same side as jaw pain) and I'm starting to become concerned. I saw my dentist who said he could see no sign of infection but put me on penicillin. I explained that my lower jaw was also really sore. Over night however, I was extremely sick and on Wednesday the dentist changed my meds. On Thursday my face near my jaw really swelled but my teeth no longer hurt like they did. Because you had surgery on your jaw, it is difficult for us to give much advice. See your Dr. or dentist. A dentist can help if it is TMJ.

You say you have good teeth, then does your jaw click when you bite or chew? You may have TMJ, which can cause nasty jaw pain. I have it. Muscle relaxers are usually the best treatment and massage of the jaw muscles outside of the jaw under your ears. Also, place your tongue at the bottom of your mouth flat. Try to pin the tip of your tongue to your bottom teeth. Then try to open your mouth straight without your jaw popping out of place.

For 2 months now, I have had earaches, pain in upper teeth, pain in the jaw,pain in temple, pain along bridge of nose, pain under eye and above brow. I've had a full doseof augmentin and had exrays on upper teeth. I'm living on aleve or ibuprofen. Please help me.

since this morning i am still having a slight fever, but now i am feeling sharp scratchy pains in my ear and pulsing pain up into my right temple, enough to make my eye twitch and water. my ear occasionally pops and pain in my jaw worsens (like broken bone pain) momentarily. i honestly don't know if these are signs of a worse infection or if it's normal with dental infections and i should just wait to see the dentist. so long story short, wait on dentist or go back to ER?

I had four cavities filled two weeks ago two molars on top and two molars on the bottom. Two days after they were filled I had several pain in my right jaw and gum. I went back and had the bite fixed. But by the weekend, I was in pain again. The dentist called in Tylenol with Codine. By Tuesday I went back to the dentist and they took an xray. They claimed my teeth look fine but since I was in pain in the one back molar they removed that filling and redrilled and filled it.

The pain would shoot from in front of my ear, to my lower and upper jaw, it would involve my upper and lower lips. Sometimes it would feel like hot liquid was being put in the ear. At one time this pain involved the right side of my tongue, and the right side of my throat. It was intermittent. It would happen for several minutes, then go away, then come back.
