Induce vomiting dog hydrogen peroxide

Common Questions and Answers about Induce vomiting dog hydrogen peroxide

vomiting

Avatar n tn Once given, walk your dog around or gently shake the stomach area to mix the peroxide with the stomach contents. Vomiting should occur within 15 to 20 minutes. If no vomiting occurs, you can safely repeat the three percent hydrogen peroxide once more. Chocolate is toxic for dogs. However, I have known dogs who ate chocolate with no bad effects to them at all! But best not to take the risk. Your dog will throw up, then a little while later, will feel perfectly OK, and probably hungry again.
Avatar n tn com/blogs/fullyvetted/2013/may/how-to-make-a-dog-vomit-30304 The dose of Hydrogen Peroxide is 1 milliliter (ml) of 3% hydrogen peroxide per pound of dog weight, using either the syringe or teaspoon. One teaspoon is approximately five ml. The maximum amount of hydrogen peroxide to be given at any one time is 45 ml, even if a dog weighs over 45 pounds. This is best administered to the back of the dog's mouth using a turkey baster but please beware if it is made of glass!!
Avatar f tn But making him vomit might be right(if you had called the vet and the vet said that was okay to do) To make a dog vomit use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Give your dog one teaspoon hydrogen peroxide per 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of body weight. There is clear information here about what to do to make a dog vomit -and when to NOT do it: https://www.wikihow.com/Get-a-Dog-to-Vomit Always take the dog to the vet after it has thrown up, just to be sure all is well and get it checked over.
Avatar f tn If you want to empty him out, however, if it has been less than two hours since he ate them, induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide 3%. Give 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight. Walk him around or rub and jiggle his belly to mix up the ingredients and vomiting should occur within 15 to 20 minutes.
Avatar n tn BTW, the way to induce vomiting in dogs is to administer hydrogen peroxide, the same bubbly stuff that you buy at the drugstore to disinfect wounds. There are a lot of sites on the web that will tell you how to do it, if you google "inducing vomiting in dogs," but it is probably better to ask your vet on a routine visit when you are there for something that is not an emergency. I had to learn how when my dog ate rat poison.
Avatar n tn Should I take him to the vet, or wait it out a bit? Should I try to induce vomitting with a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide? Thanks!
237053 tn?1258828426 ve also seen written elsewhere too, which is to swish around but DO NOT SWALLOW water with hydrogen peroxide in it. I forget the proportions. You can google it. *I think I've read that hydrogen peroxide is poisonous if you swallow it.* But it blasts the little yeast bugs to bits, so I've read. (I stick to Listerine cause I'm a chicken.
Avatar f tn My dog was bit on the shoulder and under on the meaty upper part of his leg which left a small puncture wound, I treated it 3 times a day for over a week, applying hot compresses to the lump that developed near the wound in the arm pit area, I noticed it would bleed a lot after treating it, I also applied hydrogen peroxide and an triple antibiotic to the wounds, he seems to be doing a lot better now, barely limps and is eating and drinking and seems to be in great spirits.
Avatar m tn I can't find a mouth wash with hydrogen peroxide in the pharmacies here, can you how can i find it?
Avatar f tn I revealed a open wound with a black bump. I have since rinsed with hydrogen peroxide and dabbed with neosporen, but Im scared. This has been th ere for who knows how long. And what is the black bump??? I have no money for the vet and I just don't want my dog to suffer. Can anyone help us?
Avatar m tn I had one of my dogs do that, and I had to induce vomiting to keep her from being harmed. (Fortunately I saw her do it, just not close enough to grab her before she snarfed it down.) Even if your dog didn't get into rat poison, something is wrong that needs to be diagnosed.
1544053 tn?1328691992 You can induce vomiting if the chocolate was recently eaten. You add salt to water and have dog drink it (even forcefully) and it doesn't take much to cause the dog to throw up. My dog accidentally ate children's chewable tylenol when she was a puppy while I tended to my sick child. (child proof wrapping is no problem for a determined dog---- who had climbed on a table and gotten into my purse!
Avatar m tn With a Penrose drain it is critical that no infection can get in, and infected pus can drain out. The dilute Hydrogen peroxide will help to keep the drain and wound clear of bacteria. Or you could use "Vetericyn" spray. This should be done daily. With a drain, the danger is always that bacteria can get in, so flushing it is a good idea. I don't see wht dilute Hydrogen peroxide is so bad (?) Be very careful the drain doesn't 'disappear'.

Avatar n tn +My Veterans Adminstration primary Doctor told me i had a major in ear WAX buildup & it was hard & that one way to help removed it was to mix regular alcohol & Hydrogen peroxide evenly & lay down & tilt my head & put a oz or 2 in each ear 1 or 2 minutes & then flush & that may clear the ear ? In the mean time he is to send me a prescription to loosen up the present ear wax & needed flushing materials.
Avatar m tn What strength of H2O2 did you use for the enema, and what symptoms did you have for which you prescribed the H2O2 enema in the first place? This discussion is related to Damage post hydrogen peroxide enema.
Avatar n tn hydrogen peroxide, as long as it's diluted with water, is safe and fine to use. Even ask your doctor. Salt water would work better, or they actually sell stuff for your mouth to get rid of canker (sp?) sores, and blisters and all that. There is somthing similar to oragel that is good for it. Ask a pharmacist, and they can point it out in the store, since i'm drawing a blank on the name.
Avatar n tn Hi all, yesterday I was playing with my 2 years old child in the park, and suddenly he just fell down on the grass. He put his hand in some red substance, and then put this hand in his mouth. I was very scared, and thinking that this could be blood. I went to my car, and get some hydrogen peroxide 3%. Put this on that red substance and it didn't react to hydrogen peroxide (no bubble, foaming, nothing became white).
Avatar m tn Can I use hydrogen peroxide for gargling and is that preferred over Listerine and other mouthwash?
