Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting dog lymphoma

vomiting

Avatar f tn Both times we thought we saved the dog. Each dog died very young of lymphoma. My vet said it is unheard of to have one healthy dog die before the age of 3 from lymphoma, now we have had 2 die young. She is convinced it was what they were poisoned with. Does anyone know what poison would cause the white vomit then months to a year down the road have the dog die of lymphoma?
Avatar n tn Chemotherapy is proposed as a treatment. It is defined as a slow progressing, alimentary lymphoma. My cat is vomiting and has sometimes diarrhea, but otherwise has appetite and the fur coat is in a good condition. It has been like this more than a year. We feed him with boiled chicken and also add food supplements such as vitamins, probiotics, immune boosting tablets, omega-3 rich oil.
Avatar m tn and bottled water supplemented by people treats occassionally when she is with us but she has been looked after by friends for the last few weeks who have another dog who eats Chinese wet dog food. (I assume she has been eating what thier dog has been eating.) Symptoms: lethargy, extremely swollen glands under her chin, also in her upper legs. No appetite, no defecation. She is normally playful and affectionate. Now she is too weak to get up. Please please help me.
Avatar n tn She is the largest of the three, normally 35-40 pounds, and has always been the alpha dog. She looks like she has lost at least ten pounds. Currently, I can feel all of her bones, although she does not look "skeletal". I also noticed that she has two very large cervical (neck) lymph nodes on the left side. She seems to have a normal energy level and does not otherwise appear ill.
Avatar m tn My dog was diagnosed with low grade lymphoma 4 days ago, he has one tumor in his lymph node on his neck. I have had my dog for 10 years he's my child. I would like to know if anyone has had a similar diagnoses and what treatment plan they put their dog on? I really do not want to poison or drug my dog with prenasone or chemotherapy, I do want him to be as healthy as possible and happy, he is in great shape aside from his tumor (per his oncologist).
Avatar m tn t change before the vomiting occured. Since I have been trying all kinds of different wet dog foods and the latest one is tripett which he can keep down 2 ounces without watered down at a time with an hour between feeding. Do you think trauma from all of the surgeries and all that he has been through may be a cause of this?
Avatar f tn I have a female dog named Cocoa. A week ago she started vomiting 2 to 4 times a day. We took her to the vet. She had blood work, urinalysis, exrays, barium exrays. They found nothing. The last 4 days her appetite has gone down to nothing. She weighed 10.4 lbs a week and a half ago, now 8 pounds. She stopped vomitting yesterday. That was a breakthrough. How do we get her to eat? The next step is an endoscopy. We are very worried. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
Avatar m tn This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside? Is the dog eating, drinking, any vomiting or diarrhea, eating and drinking? If this continues and especially if the dog shows any other signs, a trip to your Vet is warranted.
Avatar f tn Missy dog vomits when she eats or drinks. She can only keep down white rice and small amounts of water at a time. Her stool is normal and stomach isn't hard. I am concerned at she can't continue to just eat rice. I tried boiling hamburer and putting a little in the rice but she vomited that too.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the input on the bowel issues. My poor little dog is still sick. After another trip to the vet, he took her off Doxyciline but kept her on the Metrozindale. She was good for 3 days, although vomiting up some of her food. Then she had lots of bloody diarrhea, vomitted blood. I took her to the emergency vet. After an ultrasound, she had enlarged spleen and lymph nodes with no fever. The vet is leaning towards IBD or worst case Lymphoma. The needle biospy was inconclusive.
Avatar m tn My dog has been vomiting yellow bile and sometimes with food.. he has very little appetite. Vet visit last wed showed nothing unusual on blood work and exam. said to treat as acid reflux. Meds haven't stopped it and appetite is actually worse.. he is 10+ husky/shep mix.
Avatar m tn Our dog Lilly has lymphoma and has been on prednisone for the last few months. She now has iatrogenic Cushing's and it is getting really bad. He can barely use her hind legs. We cut her Prednisone in half, but I have no ide if this will work or not. I can't make her suffer... Does anyone have any success in this type of situation?
Avatar f tn My dog and puppy have swollen glands what could couse this to happen 1 1 and a 8 mouth old
Avatar f tn I have an 8 year old golden retriever and we've noticed extremely enlarged lymph nodes. The vet felt them and immediately did a biopsy to test for lymphoma. The results came back non-conclusive. We treated him with antibiotics for 2 weeks thinking it may just be an infection, but the lymph nodes have actually increased in size some. Our dog has had enlarged lymph nodes for about 2-3 months and isn't acting any different.
Avatar f tn He goes to work with me every day, where he acts as a therapy dog for my (human) patients. He is a cheerful, gentle, playful, friendly dog who easily wins people's hearts. He seems to work especially well with anxious people - his presence calms them. I hope and pray that he does not have lymphoma or any other cancer. What is the differential diagnosis for a canine mediastinal mass - probably an enlarged lymph node?
Avatar n tn Last spring she began noticing some slight pain in her left hip and lower back that she attributed to a couple times she had slipped and over stretched. After our dog (a boxer) jumped into her right side causing her to shift the pain became much more intense and eventualy subsided. Over the summer she had all kinds of tests, x rays, bone scans, blood work and everything came back normal. Physical therapy helped the problem some but never completely got rid of it.
Avatar n tn I see a loving dog but i also see a sick dog and hes just not a dog anymore. They say 6 weeks but there are some days he seems just fine but his nights have got bad since the panting keeps him up.Im at a loss cause i don’t want him to suffer but don’t want to lose him.Ive never had a dog that i had to put down and the vet talks about it but im having a hard time accepting it.Ive read all the responses and i wish i was as strong as you guys.Am i being selfish for wanting to hang on to him?
Avatar m tn I would go with what your vet says. Keep in close contact with them as I am sure you are already. It is a balance between your need for your dog and your dogs need to be pain free. If your dog is not giving you pain indicators and is doing OK that is good. It sounds like for now that is what is happening. I am sorry you are having to deal with this, it is so hard for us to watch our loved best friends getting old and tired. Love this one with all your might.
Avatar m tn I am suspecting cancer, but tests for it somewhat not 100% guarantee and he is a senior dog. He had cancer bump on his leg removed 2 years ago, and it was a slow growing cancer, so they were giving him 5 years to live if that cancer had a chance to spread. I do have one left thing to do is to try collect his urine in the morning and have it tested for infection in urinary track, but I kind of suspect that come back normal as well.... Any advise on what my dog might have would really help!
Avatar f tn My dog was panting a week. Pay day she went to vet. Said probably tick desease. Could be lymphoma. WBC high and swollen lymphnodes. Doxy and steroid. Came back 2 weeks. Better on the mend but still needed antibiotics So tried a different one. Even better and were ready to say she is ok. I said still panting can we try one more. Going on day 6. I accidentally only gave half a dose. Panting very bad always. Huge quadruple sized lymphnodes. Says could be babesiosis but convinced lymphoma.
