Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen for sinus

ibuprofen

Avatar m tn I went to the MD when it happened first 8 months ago. The doctor thought it was a sinus issue. He prescribed ibuprofen 800mg which I never even filled out. I took OTC ibuprofen up to 600mg at once, and it does not alleviate the pain. He ordered some sinus series radiographs but found nothing. This resolved by itself in a week or two. This time around, I went to the MD again 2 days ago, a different doctor examined me. No neurological dysfunction that he can conclude.
Avatar f tn Im 9weeks and have the worst head cold and sinus infection, my head feels like its going to explode! ! Not sure what is safe and not safe to take...ive looked and Tylenol, ibuprofen and nyquil seem okay. Anyone else know of what would help? I feel miserable.
655875 tn?1295695107 Have you tried ibuprofen? Sometimes I get headaches from the oxycodone and I find 800 mg. ibuprofen helps. For all my pains, it helps a little. I think it helps the oxy work better for me.
Avatar f tn For over 5 months I have experienced weight gain, headaches, sinus pressure, dry peeling sore swollen lips, and for over a month I have had dizziness added into those symptoms and also left ankle/foot edema. I had a CT of sinus and it was "ok", MRI of brain and "ok", Thyroid levels "ok", I did find out I am anemic (iron deficience) a month ago and am on iron supplements now for a over a month. Was treated for sinus infection, ear infection and still have symptoms.
7721203 tn?1468443229 If you have a fever go and see your Dr or midwife as that isn't good for the baby either, especially during first trimester as that is the most dangerous time for baby. And don't take the ibuprofen it has been linked to low birth weight and miscarriage.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
Avatar f tn You can take Sudafed, and stop taking ibuprofen. So bad for baby. Call your doctor for things to take. My doctor said I could do Sudafed, Claritin, ir Benadryl.
Avatar f tn thank you for answering going to yet another ent tomorrow hopefully i can get some relief
Avatar m tn For about a month I've had this painful throbbing sensation in my head that feels like it's behind my left eye near my upper nose. The sensation comes and goes day by day but sometimes the throbbing gets very painful and I get migraines that I can feel are from that area, it happens several time a week now. When I shake my head I can sometimes feel pressure in the area. Recently I've begun to feel this sensation in other parts of my head and I'm getting worried.
Avatar n tn These medications include aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) or naproxen (Aleve or Naprosyn). If you take these drugs for a chronic medical condition, consult with your doctor about to what to do. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can be taken for fever or pain. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn About 2 weeks ago i came down with a cold, which for me almost always turns into a sinus problem. I am better from that now, I am not stuffed up, or anything. Starting 3 days ago i began to get what i thought was severe sinus pressure behind, and above my right eye. This pressure was enough to make me dizzy, nauseous, and simply make it hard to function.
Avatar m tn I used a saline nasal spray for the sinuses and ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation. (I recommend only taking what pain medicine the doctor prescibes for you and where your liver damage is at.) Antibiotics only seemed to work while I was on them and within two days the sinus and throat problems were back and just as bad. I am 13 weeks post EOT and my sinuses are doing great now on their own, so hang in there, and I hope you feel better!
Avatar f tn My doctor said anything tylenol based like tylenol cold and sinus, benadryl, claritin,or robutussin. Just don't take anything with ibuprofen or asprin in it. I'm going.

Avatar f tn I have been seeing my ENT for a little over a month now for sinus pain and congestion. I am on a nasal steroid spray and am currently taking a high does antibiotic. He wants me to take it for 2 weeks. I have been on it for 4 days now. I was wondering if anyone knew of home remedies to get rid of a sinus headache between the eyes. I wake up every morning with this headache and it won't go away.
Avatar f tn t respond to sinus pills (or any pills, what are sinus pills by the way). You likely have or had a virus and what you do for a virus is comfort care. That means ibuprofen/acetaminophen for pain relief and inflammation relief, fluids, things like hot tea to sooth, gargle with salt water, those numbing products you spray or su ck on. It should run it's course.
Avatar m tn My husband has a sinus issue which has only flared once in our marriage but it was 6 months of utter discomfort and pain for him. He is not a candidate for surgery for his sinuses do to a weird phenomenon of missing a bone and not having barrier between his sinus and brain in a small space. Too risky for surgery. Anyway, he did ibuprofen, rest and nasal lavage. Finally it cleared. I'm not sure if any of this will help you but I hope so. Get plenty of sleep too.

Avatar m tn So on Wednesday I was operated, had my wisdom teeth removed as well as a huge cyst that was lodged in my sinus. The day after the operation I was all right (considering all the painkillers I was taking), but starting Friday at about 2:30 in the morning the pain got worse. I was at the check-up Friday afternoon and she said everything looked great, and that it was normal for the pain to continue for up to a week.

1305767 tn?1361192676 I've been taking a lot of ibuprofen all week for an almost constant tension type headache. 200-600 mg every four hours, not more than 2600 mg a day. I haven't had much of a headache today but I feel sick like I have a mild cold or flu and I'm still taking ibuprofen because my jaw and teeth hurt and I have a painful kink in my neck, plus running a mild fever.
Avatar n tn I am just wondering if there are any problems with drug interactions between Metformin and OTC meds like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, Unisom, Allergy/Sinus meds, etc... Common things that a person might take for pain, sleeplessness, allergies, colds, etc?
Avatar n tn A tension headache generally produces a diffuse, usually mild to moderate pain over your head. Sinus headaches are caused by sinus congestion and inflammation (called sinusitis). The sinuses are air-filled spaces lined with mucous membranes surrounding the forehead, cheeks and eyes.Air borne allergens can cause this.
Avatar f tn I have had a headache for over 8 months now! severe at times it is top of my right side or in the back of my neck. There is not a day goes by that it doesnt hurt. I thought it was a sinus headache because I would have runny nose with blood. Had a ct scan of my sinuses but they said it looked clear. I have taken ibuprofen, excedrin, tylenol in excess to try to releive the pain, but nothing works any suggestions.
Avatar n tn My 14 year old has had a low background headache for 12 weeks (all the time) with sharper pains occurring several times a day, also feeling of pressure at sides of his head developing suddenly and then slowly improving, he has had episodes of blurred vision, dizziness, aversion to lights, nausea. However coordination and balance seem fine, eating and sleeping well. MRI report is normal. Any ideas?
