Ibuprofen for sinus headache

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen for sinus headache

ibuprofen

Avatar m tn I went to the MD when it happened first 8 months ago. The doctor thought it was a sinus issue. He prescribed ibuprofen 800mg which I never even filled out. I took OTC ibuprofen up to 600mg at once, and it does not alleviate the pain. He ordered some sinus series radiographs but found nothing. This resolved by itself in a week or two. This time around, I went to the MD again 2 days ago, a different doctor examined me. No neurological dysfunction that he can conclude.
655875 tn?1295695107 I've been having this headache now for 8 days straight. It's on and off and it is really severe at times making me throw up. They seem to be at their worst in the morning upon waking up. I'm pretty sure it's possible that this is stemming from an ingredient from the oxycodone hcl. The headache didn't start until I started that med 8 days ago from switiching to percocet.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.

Avatar f tn I have been seeing my ENT for a little over a month now for sinus pain and congestion. I am on a nasal steroid spray and am currently taking a high does antibiotic. He wants me to take it for 2 weeks. I have been on it for 4 days now. I was wondering if anyone knew of home remedies to get rid of a sinus headache between the eyes. I wake up every morning with this headache and it won't go away.
Avatar f tn has anyone had sinus problems???? I'm 19weeks ftm and I have had a headache the past few weeks that just won't go away. It feels like it's right in between my eyes. My nose is very congested and I'm sneezing all the time. I know I'm not suppose to take it but ibuprofine is the only thing that helps. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I have had a headache for over 8 months now! severe at times it is top of my right side or in the back of my neck. There is not a day goes by that it doesnt hurt. I thought it was a sinus headache because I would have runny nose with blood. Had a ct scan of my sinuses but they said it looked clear. I have taken ibuprofen, excedrin, tylenol in excess to try to releive the pain, but nothing works any suggestions.
Avatar m tn My husband has a sinus issue which has only flared once in our marriage but it was 6 months of utter discomfort and pain for him. He is not a candidate for surgery for his sinuses do to a weird phenomenon of missing a bone and not having barrier between his sinus and brain in a small space. Too risky for surgery. Anyway, he did ibuprofen, rest and nasal lavage. Finally it cleared. I'm not sure if any of this will help you but I hope so. Get plenty of sleep too.
Avatar f tn My doctor said anything tylenol based like tylenol cold and sinus, benadryl, claritin,or robutussin. Just don't take anything with ibuprofen or asprin in it. I'm going.
655875 tn?1295695107 Every morning I wake up with a severe headache/migraine/sinus headache. I'm not sure if I'm making them worse by taking aspirin or Maxalt to relieve the headaches. I wake up and my head is pounding, so I walk into the kitchen and grab the ice pack. I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen.
Avatar m tn ve been taking paracetamol for the headache ALMOST daily for the past 4 weeks. I then heard this could be a symptom of brain cancer. My GP is phone-calling me tomorrow morning. One morning I woke up, and my head was very sore. I took paracetamol and it cleared away. Problem is, I still have a minor headache when wakening up and it persists throughout the day...Paracetamol/ibuprofen seem to help. I'm a hypocondriac, so not too sure if I'm imagining symptoms. Could I have a tumour?
Avatar f tn I had a sinus infection in Nov of 2007, and I have had a headache ever since. It has been a constant thing that is beginning to drive me insane. I have recently had a CAT scan that came back normal in an emergency room. Sometimes it is so intense I have to go to bed and take vicodin (2) so the pain will subside. It is usually pounding when I need to take the vicodin. My head feels like there is a ball rolling around on the inside and when it hits the walls of my skull it hurts really bad.
Avatar f tn For over 5 months I have experienced weight gain, headaches, sinus pressure, dry peeling sore swollen lips, and for over a month I have had dizziness added into those symptoms and also left ankle/foot edema. I had a CT of sinus and it was "ok", MRI of brain and "ok", Thyroid levels "ok", I did find out I am anemic (iron deficience) a month ago and am on iron supplements now for a over a month. Was treated for sinus infection, ear infection and still have symptoms.
Avatar f tn i'm really worried, I am a ftm 15 weeks 5 days pregnant. I had a really bad headache yesterday and took 6 200mg ibuprofen tablets ( 2 every 4 hours 3 times) and then I found out today your not suppose to take ibuprofen. I'm really worried, will everything be okay?
Avatar n tn My 14 year old has had a low background headache for 12 weeks (all the time) with sharper pains occurring several times a day, also feeling of pressure at sides of his head developing suddenly and then slowly improving, he has had episodes of blurred vision, dizziness, aversion to lights, nausea. However coordination and balance seem fine, eating and sleeping well. MRI report is normal. Any ideas?
7758733 tn?1402589420 Killer headaches, and never any Tylenol around. Ibuprofen can't be that bad huh? Got to go to work and this headache must go.
1305767 tn?1361192676 I've been taking a lot of ibuprofen all week for an almost constant tension type headache. 200-600 mg every four hours, not more than 2600 mg a day. I haven't had much of a headache today but I feel sick like I have a mild cold or flu and I'm still taking ibuprofen because my jaw and teeth hurt and I have a painful kink in my neck, plus running a mild fever.
Avatar f tn I have had headaches for as long as I can remember. I find relief by taking Ibuprofen at the onset of each headache. I suspect that after many years of taking Ibuprofen that my liver isn't too happy. Anyway, the reason I am writing here is it feels as though many of my headaches originate somehow from the spine. I can sit certain ways and actually cause my head to hurt. Then I can move back the other direction and the headache will subside.
671285 tn?1292660161 I have severe sinus issues which seem to be more effected with this crazy weather (cold and rain). I just got through with medication for a sinus infection. I was enjoying an afternoon with my children, baking and watching cartoons when all of a sudden I got excruciating pain in my left temple. It wasn't throbbing---it was more like a nagging pain with lots of deep pressure. I was so alarmed that it stopped me right in my tracks!
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, So this all started on Tuesday or Wed (April 7/8) with a dull headache that would come and go at random times. Coffee helped for a bit but it would always come back. I didnt think much of it because I'm used to headaches like this. Come around to that Sunday night (April 12), I was relaxing in bed when all of a sudden the headache turned severe out of basically nowhere, so much so that I was in tears while icing my head .
