hysterectomy

Avatar m tn I have Adenomyosis, its when the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle of the uterus, the doctor decribes it as like a uturus inside a uterus, or a hot piece of coal irritaing my uterus! I bleed heavily and am in constant pain! I have to have abdominal surgery as my uterus is to enlarged to take it away by any other means.
Avatar f tn they were all great but I am still scared that I will never feel normal again. This is my fourth surgery in seven years including a complete hysterectomy. This is my first attempt at excision and I could use some reassurance from any of you who have had success with this surgery....thanks!

Avatar f tn I have to have surgery for prolapse bladder and uterus. My GYN is going to do it. He says he will use the mesh sling to hold up the bladder. I ask about the law suits with bladder meshes. He said this kind is different. Worried about having surgery now. I need to have urinary catheter, was wondering how long it needs to stay in?

Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
Avatar m tn Most uterine tumors are fibroids, 99% of which are benign. A myomectomy is the surgery to remove fibroids and leave the uterus in place. Hysterectomy is grossly overused in the U.S. and some other countries when myomectomy would be more appropriate. The uterus has lifelong functions so hysterectomy is associated with permanent and progressive problems.
Avatar f tn Some Drs unfortunatlly are a bit fast to recomend a hysterectomy. This should always be the last choice, the last option. It is a difficult painful surgery. the recovery is long 6 weeks. Once the 6 weeks is done you could resume all normal activities and your pain would be gone. I would reccomend if you do decide on a hysterectomy to read up on the DaVinci method its the best, safest, least invase type of hysterectomy.
8012558 tn?1399308657 I have my surgery scheduled for December 2nd. Doctor will take out uterus and the fallopian tubes (keeping the rest including the ovaries). I have been reading all of these scary postings and I am getting little nervous about the procedure and the life after. It would really help to know that this is only a minority and that there are women out there that didn't regret having the surgery.
Avatar f tn I am still in pain, during intercourse, as well as everyday cramping, and lower back pain. I talked to doctor and she suggested an abdominal hysterectomy. Should I do this? Will it really help?? I have tried lupron, and had two laprascopies with removal of adhesions as well as countless chocolate cysts. Was told by fertility specialist after last lap that tubes are completly blocked as well as being tangled with my bowels.
Avatar f tn ve recently been diagnosed with complex hyperplasia - moderately abnormal cells in the uterus. Because of this I will be having surgery soon to remove both my uterus and cervix. I don't plan on having kids, tried, so that's not an issue plus the women in my family have practically all needed hysterectomys.
Avatar m tn s not necessarily the Hysterectomy I would not have again, it;s rather any surgery at all. I would have done the Hysterectomy at the start had I known the truth about the fibroids. It's after the first surgery that my problems began. For those asking for advice above, the best advice I can give is to go to a knowledgeable Physician re natural hormone replacement therapy.
Avatar f tn The Gynecology doctor suggested the condition is very serious and the uterus has to be removed. One more set of doctors suggest that plastic surgery can be made but with risks involved. My question is if this plastic surgery is done successfully, will she be facing infection issues in the future as she is having some infections right now inside the uterus???

Avatar m tn I was under the impression that if you had a hysterectomy that you did not have your uterus. When I had my hysterectomy done, the dr took the works. I'm talking about everything, the fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, uterus. Not that I miss any of them. I don't have periods, which means no pms! WooHoo!
Avatar f tn I'm 50 and have always been in good health. For the past two years I have been anemic. Recently, I had a 30 day bleed and my gyn gave me meds to stop it. I have had a good pap, good ca125, good uterus biopsy, but the ultra sound and ct we're abnormal showing a baseball size mass in my uterus and abnormal ovaries. I'm scheduled for a complete hysterectomy on 11/12. Should I get a second opinion? Is this customary procedure for these issues?

Avatar n tn which is wiser, more chemo or hysterectomy following breast cancer surgery....? a cyst was found during a ultrasound on the uterus This discussion is related to hysterectomy/mastectomy at once?.
Avatar n tn I was really scared before surgery, I had a abdominal hysterectomy. Please dont worry as they will take great care to make sure you are pain free. you will need to ask for pain killers to take home with you, as that will be the most challenging part.. After the 1st week at home you should start feeling much better. Also make sure you start taking hormones right away, as you will start having hot flashes immediatly.

Avatar f tn I am a 36 year old who had to have a hysterectomy 8 years ago due to uncontrollable bleeding.. partial hysterectomy.. my ovaries, tubes, and part of my uterus are still intact.. cervix is gone.. factory closed.. haha.... recently I have had tremendous pains in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen, and this as of late coincides with bleeding vaginally.. bright red blood, so it's not "old" blood..
Avatar f tn His office called today to say that my uterus was enlarged and that I needed to take lupon shots. They said that my uterus went from 155 ml in Dec. 09, to 243 ml on June 17, 2010. I have no symptoms, other than maybe one or 2 heavy days of my period. I am 53 years old and still have a regular period. Do I need a hysterectomy??? Do I need to take the lupron shots??
