Avatar n tn My wisdom tooth is the one in front of the white patch. My wisdom tooth is pulled to the front from my braces after losing a tooth from a previous accident. Thank you for your help. Btw I just went to the dentist for a clean literally two days ago and dentist said my teeth are fine. Swollen gums started today. http://tinypic.
Avatar m tn Hey thanks Gellia, yea I guess so my 2nd molar is still yet to come out and x-rays have shown (i used to wear braces am on retainers now) that my wisdom teeth are all impacted so they have to be extracted at a later stage. Anyway, went to see the dentist and the dentist said it was a viral infection and gave me some antiseptic mouth wash said it would subside within a week or two. Thanks!

Avatar m tn Yeah I realized it was just my swollen gums. I used to precipitation mouth wash that my dentist recommended me. The swelling went down and the odor went away and I have def been flossing every night now. My dentist is going to be happy the next time I see him lol. Yeah I am not really sure why I had braces on for that long period of time.

Avatar m tn Talk to your parents, they may have addressed this when you were younger and found it was nothing, and therefore no reason to mention it to you. But I would think since you had braces, your orthodontist would have noticed them. But talk to your parents about it.
Avatar n tn I'm a teenager, you see. I just got braces this summer, but the problem is that I have a lot of honors classes and no time to brush my teeth at all. So a gap has formed between some of my teeth, but that's not my major concern. When I brushed my teeth about a week or two ago, my gums were bleeding.I thought it was just because I hadn't brushed my teeth in a while. I brushed my teeth again a few days ago, and the same thing happened, but this time my bottom left gums felt sore/hurt.
Avatar n tn I am not trying to give you a hard time. If someone has braces I would ask them questions like how long have you had them on. Because if someone just got them on for only 3 months there teeth, gums bleed easily which then could be a possible infection only if that person has HIV.
Avatar f tn So, I've always been very anal about my teeth had a lot of work done to make them "perfect" Iol.
Avatar f tn A visit to the orthodontist may be required every four to six weekly. You should take extra care with the braces since there is a tendency for food to get trapped and plaque formation. Do discuss all your concerns with your dentist before placement of braces. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn If the tooth has been fractured by any injury, the dentist may perform a root canal to prevent infection and then treat the loose tooth. Bleeding and swollen gums could be due to bacteria or a lack of a certain vitamin that can lead to swollen gums, gingivitis, scurvy, periodontitis etc. In gingivitis there are swollen gums, bad breath, easily bleeding of the gums during flossing or brushing and gums may appear red-colored.
Avatar m tn so jus write me on thea cause im new to this website nd i dont know how else to check if u wrote me back or not, alright.

Avatar m tn Hello, Such sore swollen gums can be due to gingivitis, infections, malnutrition and vitamin C deficiency, pregnancy or sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash . Take vitamin C supplements for some days and change your toothpaste brand and avoid using mouthwashes if your swollen gums are caused by sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash. Also have good oral hygiene. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dentist and get gingivitis ruled out. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I have CT prior to pregnancy, sleeping with wrist braces is the best thing to help with it. Just feel lucky yours is from the pregnancy and you won't end up having surgery to correct it.
Avatar m tn ve last visited the dentist, since I had a general fear of the pain when going to the dentist. I now have purple gums and my tooth are loose and shaky at time to time. I suspect it may be from gum disease with a combination of the side effect for my late braces. I am a drinker and a smoker. Is it true that getting braces at a later age can have higher complications? Also what should I expect at my first dental visit after 30 years? Please advise.
Avatar n tn I researched this and heard that it may be a fragment of wisdom tooth left on accident, and is finally being released from the gums. So I waited. Then about 1-2 months later I realized this seems to be a full-blown molar growing in. I have searched around the net and not found anything about this, is this normal? Is this going to be a horrible procedure to fix? I haven't seen a dentist in about 2 years, because at this point I am pretty scared until I find out what is going on.
Avatar f tn Anybody else's gums bleed while brushing their teeth? I went to my dentist and she said it's just the pregnancy. It should go away after pregnancy. But it's so annoying and sometimes my gums are so sore!
Avatar f tn Ive suffered with bad gums for years (since my orthadontist left my braces on too long) but since being pregnant they bleed so much when i brush and it often takes a while to stop.
Avatar m tn The periodontist has recommended a procedure to reinforce the gums prior to the braces. This has added an additional 6K to the price and about 3 months to the total time to straighten the teeth. The last thing the periodontist said to us was if we had to choose between the periodontal and orthodontist was to get the teeth straightened and if there was problem we could then address that problem.
Avatar f tn I was also thrusting my tongue against my teeth after braces were removed which caused them to shift forward. I quit going to the dentist for 4 years due to insurance and then anxiety. I had plaque buildup on bar and when I went to get my wisdom teeth removed, the surgeon said I had some bone loss in that area. My gums receded some but then came back almost normal. I took good care of them on and off and noticed on another xray the there is less bone.
Avatar m tn I had sort of blisters on my lips and my gums were kind of rough. We went to the hospital and I was given paracetamol, and co-amoxiclav which is an antibiotic. I felt better after that, However, my sore throat has recurred again and cough, no fever though just chills and then we went for a follow up check-up and I was given Azithromycin, Losanges (which was for my mouth and I think it's starting to heal) and Paracetamol.
