period

Avatar n tn You can't have a period while pregnant--by definition. You can have bleeding though and it does happen around that time. It's only a major concern if you bleed heavy. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn Some may argue you can have a period during pregnancy but by definition of a monthly period you would shed the uterine lining along with everything in and on it. I believe you can have bleeding during pregnancy but it does not come from within your uterus. Again i would honestly go get checked by the dr just to be certain.
1845665 tn?1318949368 Sure, it felt like a period, looked like a period, but I was pregnant...and my uterine lining was thick and sustaining my pregnancy. Women bleed in pregnancy for a number of reasons from SCH, infection, low hormone levels indicating a possible miscarriage, trauma to the cervix during intercourse, etc.
Avatar n tn Bleeding while pregnant is not a period. A period by definition would mean your uterine lining is being sloughed off but you need your uterine lining while pregnant. It is what the embryo burrows into. However it is possible to have bleeding (in any varying degree from spotting to heavy flow) while pregnant. It could mean placental abruption, hematoma, miscarriage, cervical tear, etc.
Avatar f tn By definition, it is not possible to have a period and be pregnant. But it is possible to have bleeding during pregnancy. My periods used to last 2-3 days. Any flow that lasts 2-7 days is considered normal. Because you just had a miscarriage, your hormone levels need to readjust themselves and it may take time for your body to regulate. The bloating and crampiness you feel could mean that you are about to ovulate.
Avatar f tn I Highly Doubt You Are Pregnant. You Can't Have A Period And Be Pregnant. Some Women Have bleeding But It's Not An Actual Period. The Definition Of A Period Is The Shedding Of The uterine Lining. Some When Experience What's Called Break Thru Bleeding But From What You described You Sounds To Have Had Regular Cycles With Regular Periods.
Avatar f tn I went for 8 months in 2007 without a period, had a heavy one and now I am having spotting just about every other day. Sometimes it only appears if I wipe inside the vaginal opening, sometimes it shows on a pad. Is this normal?

Avatar m tn Having a heavy period is normal, drink lots of water, try walking for 30 min everyday and just remember to change when you need to
Avatar f tn If you are pregnant after 11 years with no period, then be definition, yes it could happen. (If you just think you are pregnant, by all means test.
Avatar n tn So I am not sure how someone could have a period and still be pregnant if the definition of a period is the shedding of the uterine lining. That is my personal opinion. But you will get some comments from people saying absolutely you can have a period your whole pregnancy no question asked. I would agree more with the previous poster that you can have vaginal bleeding but it cant really be classified as a "period". I would talk to your dr about it and see what their opinion is.
671285 tn?1292660161 I feel like all the blood has been drained from my body and feel like i am dragging a$$. That is my definition of fatigue. Usually when i don't get that much sleep i pay for it the next day.
Avatar f tn It feels and looks the exact same as a period. It lasts the same length of time has cramps and is heavy as you normally would be even if my "uterus" isnt shedding im still having something LIKE a period even if it isnt classified as one.
Avatar m tn I started my period the 13 of June and it has been so heavy i couldn't go 45 minutes without going to the bathroom. i am still on it but its not as heavy, but still not normal..I am 19 a virgin and my periods are normally only 5-7 days..
Avatar f tn Hello, my period was between 4 and 5 days late this month and is super heavy for me. I haven't been nauseous, or noticed any breasts pain but felt a little dizzy/foggy for a day. I also noticed a drop or two of clear liquid from my breast if they are squeezed and I have never had any breast discharge. I have had some uncomfortable cramping but not anything terrible. Could I be pregnant? Or what is going on?
Avatar f tn Some think so yes but I don't think so. The way i believe is by definition a period is the shedding of the uterine lining. If you are pregnant and have a period which sheds you uterine lining you will also shed the egg/baby. Once you get pregnant your body releases a hormone which tells it not to shed your lining because you are pregnant.. I believe some women can bleed during pregnancy but it's not an actual period and the bleeding is from something else besides inside the uterus.
Avatar n tn re just starting your period it can vary widely from spotting to heavy flows. What you are experiencing is probably normal. If it continues to be very heavy you might consult a doctor about it. Before you do though, write back and tell us what you think heavy is. Some women have heavy flows every month and are considered normal. It depends on the amount and duration. Good luck.
