Avatar n tn i am 16 years old male and i also didi a stress test as i thought it would be heart related, it was normal. what could this be. i also hear alot gurgling and gas in my chest and upper abdomen with burning sensations.
198627 tn?1203057607 Tagamet or Cimetidine are 2 over the counter meds that work well for heartburn. Only you know how much pain your in. If you can't stand it, get to the ER.
Avatar n tn I too had bad heartburn probs that caused esphogus probs too. Felt like it was going to jump out of my throat! Anyway, just before tx I started on Nexium, got my esphogus healed and the heartburn went away. Now I only take it on a "as need basis". jmjm will most likely jump on here w/a testimonial how well the Nexium works. Good luck to you on your first shot. Drink plenty of water and take tylenol pm on your shot night and hopefully you will sleep thru the sides as I did.
Avatar n tn In the last 2 weeks the pain has become localised to mid - abdomen and also on the right upper. In the last couple of days my mid right abdomen has become itchy. I also get shooting pains in my right shoulder. I have other symptoms which have also occured in the last 2 - 3 weeks. I have pain behind my right knee if I cross my legs even for a few seconds uncrossing my right leg sends a severe pain - it has me limping for a minute or so afterwards behind my knee.
Avatar f tn If it's a contraction, it hasn't stopped in at least 30 minutes, but I'm having a very sharp pain in my upper abdomen that won't stop. It's not gas and the baby isn't in my ribs, but the pain is right under my ribs. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn hey guys, yesterday about 1pm just after i had eaten lunch i started getting these cramping/burning/pushing pains really high in my upper abdomen, like right underneath my rib cage in an arch. it was so severe that it had me doubled over in pain for about 10 minutes. when it finally subside i got up and it hit me again. my husband and i decided that i should just go lay down and see if that would help. it did a bit, except that everytime i'd move that same pain would be there just as bad.
Avatar f tn I have been having this pain in my upper left abdomen, under left breast. I've had a mammography, and all is normal. The pain is occasional. Has anyone had this? I'm having a colonscopy in a few days, but I don't think the test goes that far into the abdomen. I have had a colonoscopy 8 years ago and all was fine. If anyone has had this, please let me know.
Avatar m tn I have had pain in my upper right abdomen that comes and goes throughout the day for the last 3 months. Sometimes the pain is acute. ER Dr. suspected gallbladder but all blood tests were normal and ultrasound was normal. Had a pos. H.pylori blood test so went on antibiotic treatment. Had an endoscopy which showed no abnormalities or ulcers. The baffling thing is this: the pain is very intense WHILE I am eating sweet things like pineapple or fruit juice etc.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old woman who for the past 4 years has had persistent and growing pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. It is an almost constant pain felt more acutely when I sit and most when I lay down at the end of the day. It was relieved significantly during my pregnancy (my daughter is 18 mos now) but returned even more severely soon after I had her.
Avatar m tn Today I’ve been experiencing a stabbing-like pain, only occasionally and usually instant, in my upper left abdomen about an inch or so down from my rib cage. This pain seems like it goes straight through me or around my side sometimes and too my back when it happens. I’ve felt somewhat of a dull ache in this spot for a while but just today, it’s started turning into stabbing like sensations. Any idea what this could be?
Avatar f tn I wasn't too sure where to put this, but I have been having symptoms that I cannot really figure out how to connect. I have had a bloated stomach (mostly upper and middle abdomen) since I was in like 5th grade (now a freshman in college) and before 5th grade, my stomach was completely and totally flat. I have always been rather small (size 4 when I'm not bloated) and I started to get the bloating around the time I was starting to become obese.
Avatar m tn I don't smoke or do drugs however I did party and over drink once in awhile in college. I started to have discomfort in my chest last November (2008). It felt like someone was just lightly pressing on my left pectoral. It didn't hurt, it was just annoying, I would adjust and it seemed to go away, but it would always come back. Once in awhile I would get a sharp quick jabbing pain just underneath my left pectoral. It didn't seem like it had anything to do with breathing.
Avatar n tn Shes 13 now, so I have had it for a while.,.. My question is does anyone know WHY my heartburn pain starts in my upper back, right behind my heart area, and then proceeds to a bad burning sensation in my neck and throat...its very painful and is relieved my antacids, although only for a short period of time, which leaves me taking several doses before all is over.
222011 tn?1265475648 I had left thyroid removed and am now suffering from acid reflux/heartburn every single day. Going on 3 months with this. I take synthroid in the morning and Tagamet in the afternoon or at night, depending on how bad it gets. I also still have a feeling in my throat as if something is stuck in there. I also feel, after I eat, that some of the food is still lingering in my throat. Has something happened to those muscles? Sick of all of it.
Avatar m tn Discomfort in stomach 2. Always bloated feeling, fullness and frequent Belching 3. Mild pain in upper right abdomen 4. Unable to pass stool easily many times 5. Sometimes feels heat in lower right abdomen 6. Loss of appetite, feels like hungry when sitting but if I walk or stand, I feel cramps in stomach 7. Frequent Heartburn and acid reflux I consulted 3 gastroendrologists for this. Nobody could cure me.
Avatar m tn However for the past couple of day's i've had this sharp pain in my upper abdomen, its pretty severe as it usually causes me to stop what i'm doing and brace for the pain. I'm wondering if this could be related to my acid reflux or would it be something entirely different that i should get checked out.Thx in advanced.
Avatar n tn I've been having severe pain under my right rib/upper abdomen for a week which hurts when I breathe and try to sleep on my side and in the past few days shoots up into my right shoulder. The pain is consistent and painkillers don't seem to help I've been eating as I normally do and drinking lots of water, I've just drank more alcohol in the past month than usual. I had an ultrasound today but no gallstones were present which were my initial diagnosis. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar n tn In the past 4 years since this, I have never again had an attack like that, however I often have bouts of discomfort in my upper abdomen that will last for a few hours to a few days at a time. Usually months go by in between these times. When this happens, it's never sharp pain, just a feeling of discomfort - almost as though that part of my abdomen (above my stomach, but at least a few inches below the sternum) is bloated.
Avatar m tn I typically get really anxious when I get chest pain (this type of pain has happened a few times over the past year or so) and it seems to make it worse or always put me on edge thinking it could be something with my heart (there doesn't seem to be any real radiation of pain other than some pain in my upper abdomen and a little in my throat) even though I am only 22 and that is pretty rare.
Avatar n tn I am a 47 year old female. In April 2005, a number of non cancerous tumors were found in my abdomen and something was seen on my pancreas; I also threw a piulmonary embolism in that time. There was an operation to remove the tumors and biopsy the pancreas; it resulted in a full hysterectomy, appendectomy, and put a half in gash in the vena cava with biopsying pancreas. All negative for cancer. Thing on pancreas wholely removed.
Avatar m tn Woak up today with no heartburn but a muscle type spasm in my upper abdomen area. Am I making myself crazy with cancer thoughts? How long does it take the fish oil to stop giving me heartburn if this is the issue? Could it be something else? Can't see the Doc for a few days, and I will go see him. The sudden on set has me questioning everything. It did coinside with the taking of the fish oil, but there still is the chewing issue in the back of my mind.
Avatar f tn I have noticed a lump on my left upper abdomen for atleast a few months. It seems to be getting bigger and my entire palm fits right over it. It doesn't hurt, it's not hard and does not move around. But I have had a lot of issues for awhile now with my belly swelling to the point I feel it will pop. M doctor thinks that might be part f the reason for the swelling. It doesn't matter what size meal I eat or what I drink either. I no longer have a gall bladder.
Avatar f tn Anyway, after she woke up, I went to the washroom and when I got back to my bed that's when the massive pain began. It was right under my breast, in the middle (I believe it is the upper abdomen but not sure) and it was going right through to my back. I don't have my gullbladder anymore (had it removed in December 2008) but it felt like a gullbladder attack. I also felt like I was going to vomit but nothing happened.
Avatar n tn This burning sensation is associated with heartburn and pain on upper right side of abdomen. Can anyone tell me if they have any kind of problem like this. I have had gerd for several years.
Avatar n tn It's more like an acute illness than a chronic long term pain as you describe yours. Pancreatic Cancer is a tough one. Pain in upper abdomen and back can be associated but there are other things like weight loss, fatigue, possibly nausea and heartburn. You are young though and not the usual age to get pancreatic cancer with those diagnosed usually in their 70's. So what about your diet? Do you keep a food journal? Diverticulitis can happen and can be quite painful and in episodes.
Avatar n tn However for last 10 months I am feeling pain/pressure in my left upper abdomen. Initially it was an occasional feeling of pressure that came and go (there could be whole week of feeling ok). In last 3-4 months the pressure changed into pain and the pain is almost all the time there. I will list my symptoms: - pain/pressure in left upper abdomen. There is hardly an hour when I do not feel it. Sometimes it lasts for minutes, sometimes for hours. On 1 to 10 scale I would say it is around 2-3.
