Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn symptoms menopause

heartburn

Avatar n tn Did anyone develop any digestive problems or GERD through peri/menopause? I am 51 and in perimenopause. Last summer, I developed GERD out of the blue. I can't seem to get ahold of it with medication. My GI said that digestive upset onsets aren't uncommon during these years. Will it go away when my hormones die down? Would HRT help me?
Avatar f tn I too have been having weird skin sensations, like crawling on my skin.I can be sitting still and things look like they are moving. I get burning sensations like heartburn in my upper back and then my whole body will feel really hot, like heat coming out of it and my skin also feels hot causes me to sweat. I have had tingling sensation on the top of my left foot and left hand and also left side of face just a couple of nights ago.

Avatar f tn Sometimes no symptoms are noticed because they can be so vague, or can easily be explained away by other causes, such as menstrual problems, fatigue, approaching menopause. Common symptoms many of us had are bloating, feeling full in the stomach, urinary frequency, back pain, bowel problems, abdominal discomfort or pain....... If you don't feel right, go for a good gyn check-up and express your concerns. Be persistant.
Avatar f tn The doctor says my heart is fine, but the pain is still there. About three days ago I started having the bad heartburn, I think, again and am going to be getting my peroid any day. Is it possible that the anxiety or the hormones are making my reflux worse.
Avatar n tn How old are you, how is your health otherwise ,have you had any sweats or hot Flushes, anything differant.Wree your periods regular before ,they usually begin by being heavy, before they lighten, and one month you have a period then another month not.It varies with differant Women.
Avatar n tn I'm 58 and my last period was about 4 years ago. I thought I was sailing through menopause with just some anxiety and night sweats once in a while. About 8 weeks ago I began having hot flashes many times a day and night, night sweats several times a night, anxiety and horrible gastric distress. All at once! I've never in my life had heartburn or any intestinal problems but now my stomach seems to fill with gas for no reason, it rolls around my intestines causing sharp pains.
Avatar n tn Right now I am 2 weeks late with my period, but have taken 3 pregnancy tests...all negative. I am nauseous, have heartburn, tired, food aversions, hair loss, and huge boobs! What's going on?? I did take Excedrin before I realized my cycle was late...any ideas??
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms most of you mommies get at 21weeks?
443862 tn?1237999439 If you still have periods then you aren't in menopause yet. The symptoms you describe including the heat, anxiety and sleeping all sound like perimenopause. You should probably see a doctor to make sure there isn't something else going on such as thyroid problems. If it's hormone related you can try different things including daily exercise.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was hoping maybe someone here can shed some light on the craziness of menopause. I was thrown into menopause by chemotherapy a year ago (breast cancer). I don't many hot flashes and rarely have night sweats like "normal women" do. Instead, I get high blood pressure when lying down. Mostly at night, sometimes in the day if I take a nap, but as long as I'm horizontal, my BP goes up. Drives me insane, keeps me up many nights a week.
Avatar f tn lol it's still VERY early for you!!! maybe you're having symptoms super early, but that's REALLY early for heartburn & stuff.. unless you're eating something to cause it. a lot of women don't get symptoms until 6 weeks or further along.. I'm up once again, 4:30 a.m. with heartburn, insomnia, ugh.. I still feel blessed though!!!
Avatar n tn I am having the same symptoms. Heartburn, back pain, lightheaded and neausea, I also had lots of belching but I do that to try and stop the neausea. I took my blood pressure and it was 146/91 and BPM was 86, my normal is about 110/66 and BPM is about 65 to 70. I had Reflux surgery 15 years ago and have not had heartburn since, until last night. Symptoms have gone away since the middle of the night. History of my family.

Avatar n tn What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Peri-Menopause, it is excellent and has all kinds of info regarding symptoms side effects of synthetic drugs, and also bio-identical progesterone cream. I use this and it is great, it helps with so many symptoms and is completely safe.

Avatar f tn What would cause me to basically have a 1 day period? Now my nipples are tender, I’ve had heartburn a lot lately, which I normally only get when I’m pregnant, I’ve been really hungry lately and I’ve been sleeping a lot lately. I’m not sure if this is just me getting older or what. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I am worrying myself about the possibility of ovarian cancer due to my age, having taken Clomid 17 yrs ago for 11 cycles, plus I am also having heartburn symptoms. I always thought I could attribute the heartburn to certain foods, but now wonder if it is related? Can you please tell me: 1. What are the chances that this is ovarian cancer? 2. What exactly are the "indigestion" symptoms that go along with ovarian cancer?
Avatar n tn re in peri-menopause and not post menopause. You have to go one complete year with no periods at all and including no spotting. If you still spot, you can even get pregnant. Since your levels are low, it's alot harder to get pregnant. But I don't know why they told you that you already were past menopause? Any doctor would know that.
