Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn remedies women

Avatar f tn Hello any remedies to help with heartburn 10 weeks pregnant and heartburn is killing me.......
Avatar f tn As far as 'avoiding' it is concerned, your stomach is being pushed out of position and there is nothing to do to change that, short of having the baby. Some women simply do get extreme heartburn from this involuntary repositioning of their internal arrangement, others (the lucky ones) don't. As as far as treating the symptom, ask your ob-gyn for a list of approved heartburn meds (don't take just anything, ask your doc or your pharmacist).
Avatar f tn Any remedies besides milk and tums. They do nothing for me :( Just started getting bad about 2 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Take a tums. Or if you like homemade remedies take a half teaspoon of baking soda mix with 6oz of water. Drink it fast and hold your nose.
Avatar f tn im 6 weeks and just started having very bad morning sickness and heartburn. Nothing seems to help. I can't miss work. Are there any home remedies to help the nausea?
299260 tn?1304219705 ( She had been head down for 3 weeks, so my doctor was pretty sure she wouldn't move from that stage, but she did. She said if she's still that way in a week and a half, she'll probably stay there but there's remedies they can do to fix it. They said they can try to physically move her back to head down, and if that doesn't work, they'll have to do a c-section.
299260 tn?1304219705 kaylee- it could be the baby moving although it is a ltitle early but some women feel them this early. i didnt feel jaedyn until i was 18 weeks. it felt like popcorm popping in my belly. mrspace- oh my mom totally used the whiskey on the gums when we were teething and stuff, it was the only thing that worked. i love hearing those stories. the things they did back then. hannah- jaedyn is doing much better. his cold is slowly getting better.
Avatar f tn Ginger Ginger is often claimed to be effective against pregnancy sickness. However ginger may make your symptoms worse or cause you to have heartburn. Ginger is a common remedy in Chinese medicine. It's based on the system of yin and yang and other opposing factors, including heat and cold. Ginger is a hot (yang) remedy and will make your sickness worse if you are already too hot.
Avatar n tn I have had anxiety that seemed associated with heartburn too. I treated the heartburn with 1/2 tsp of baking soda in 1/2 glass warm water,(it will cause you to burp because it is neutralizing the acid) and the anxiety seemed to lessen.
299260 tn?1304219705 The only thing that worries me are the symptoms I'm having. Bad headaches/migraines, heartburn, gettings sick in the mid morning afternoon almost every day (for the last 3 days), weird appetite. When I'm hungry I'm HUNGRY. When I'm not hungry, I don't want to even think about food. Plus I'm still having bad O pain and hot flashes. So I feel all over the place right now. I've been documenting everything in my journal so I can talk to the doctor about it when we go in.

1098165 tn?1340760837 i hope i have my energy back to ask him my list of questions. if u have any proven safe remedies please let me know.
Avatar n tn that you can contact.
Avatar f tn I take tums. For natural methods, it's suggested you don't eat too soon before laying down and by eating smaller portioned meals. We get acid reflux because the baby pushes on the bottom of the stomach which causes the contents, including stomach acid, to go closer to the top of the stomach and the lower part of the esophagus. Eating foods that are bases (not acidic) will also help. Most dairy products will help. Fruity yogurt probably isn't good, since fruits are acidic.
6295905 tn?1390894808 I read a lot of stories from women who tried it after 37 weeks and it worked for them. I guess it has to be fresh pineapple and they ate either half or all the pineapple in one night and then they said either contractions started or their water broke. Have any of you tried this? I just bought a fresh pineapple and I am going to try it... Lol.
Avatar f tn A lot of women don't get symptoms. Its nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Excessive salivation is common in pregnancy and some women experience it more than others, especially when they feel nauseated. Since much saliva is produced in the mouth some women feel the urge to spit it out. This particular syndrome seen during pregnancy is known as ptyalism or sialorrhea and is often co-related with a severe kind of morning sickness.
535822 tn?1443980380 A study published by the National Cancer Institute found that women who took two or more aspirins a week for more than 20 years had a 58 percent increased risk of pancreatic cancer compared with women who rarely, or never, used aspirin. The risk of pancreatic cancer rose the more aspirins were taken. Women who took 14 or more aspirins a week had an 86 percent increased risk of pancreatic cancer over non-users.

151668 tn?1239924705 Problems that seem to keep coming up are heartburn, constipation, can't sleep, itchy skin, swollen feet,etc...etc... So post away with all your advice! Thanks!
Avatar n tn If you are completely against medication, there are a lot of morning sickness remedies that either work or don't work, so you'll just have to test them out yourself and find what does the trick for you. There are SeaBands wrist cuffs (sold at pharmacies). Ginger, sucking on lemons or lemon drops, clear sodas, etc. etc. Of these, only lemon drops helped me, but tore up my mouth from sucking on them all day.
Avatar n tn Check with your doctor or nurse about any prescription or over-the-counter medicines as well as herbal supplements. What medicines can I take? Many pregnant women aren’t sure what types of medicines are safe to take. Below are some recommended medicines for common discomforts, colds, and the flu. For headaches, muscle aches, or mild pain, you may take 2 regular strength acetaminophen(ah-SEE-tah-min-oh-fen) tablets (325mg), like Tylenol, every 6 hours as needed.
1541869 tn?1293124759 One is B-Natal TheraPops are cherry flavored lollipops which have been shown to help cure morning sickness for many women. Another Vitamin B-6 enriched product is called Morning Sickness Magic. Morning Sickness Magic is a herbal remedy containing Ginger, Vitamin B-6, Red Raspberry Leaf and Folic Acid. * Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings. * Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness.
Avatar f tn I am 34 weeks as well and as much as I feel done with being pregnant it's not about us, it's about the baby. 3 more weeks until full term is not long!! I plan on walking ALOT at 37 weeks and doing other natural methods to help things along, but not yet.
Avatar m tn According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost 4 million American women give birth every year. Nearly one third of them will have some kind of pregnancy-related complication. Those who don't get adequate prenatal care run the risk that such complications will go undetected or won't be dealt with soon enough. That, in turn, can lead to potentially serious consequences for both the mother and her baby.
Avatar n tn In some states you would be able to take him to court now and get him to pay at least half of your medical expenses. But if he contested it, then it might be put off until the baby is born and paternity is proven. THEN he would owe you for the past nine months and for the time it took to get the test results. To get the ball rolling, the first thing you need to do is call your locla health department.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me what brand or what to look for for the cranberry capsules?? I live in Thailand and we don't have capsules only imported juice with lots of sugar. Have to rearch online and there are way too many versions of this product. What should I be looking for while searching on the net? certain level of extract or % of ??
Avatar n tn Further to an earlier posting on 06/12, I found that a dose of 2000mg (400mg with meals and at bedtime) a day of cimetidine was inadequate to reduce the pain in my stomach (duodenal ulcer, erosions of the stomach lining, HP-ve, not using NSAIDS) and control the heartburn (which has started since I finished helicobater treatment that I didnt need) and diarrhoea. I am now taking 30mg lansoprazole twice a day and I am taking it properly before meals to get the best results.
