Avatar n tn Are you taking medication for your diabetes? If so, many of these can cause libido problems. So can depression. Talk to your Dr about possible options. If you have a healthy heart Viagra may be an option. There's also the pump. Those are just two things I can think of right now. Don't give up until you've tried everything your Dr recommends.
Avatar f tn My family medical history includes strokes, Heart failure, high blood pressure, and diabetes. My grandfather died of heart attack, two of my aunts have had heart attacks, my great grandmother had many strokes. My older half-sister was born with heart disease and has had a few open heart surgeries. My other half sister has been told that her heart flips. My mom has high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. All of this is in my history but no doctors think i am at any risks.
Avatar f tn s health. Got diabetes? Your current benefit plan may pay for your insulin and doctor visits. But if you change jobs, your new health plan can call your diabetes a preexisting condition and refuse to treat it. Now, you're paying for all of your diabetes treatment yourself, plus the regular out-of-pocket expenses for other medical treatments. HIPAA limits the instances in which a company can exclude payment for preexisting conditions.
3060668 tn?1340675902 Low values can cause symptoms of lightheadedness due to inadequate pumping capacity of the heart. Hope diabetes has been ruled out. And like you mentioned you could see if the relaxation techniques are helping you. Take Care.
Avatar f tn I would suggest you seek a so-called wound-care center or wound-care specialist. You can find one by contacting a specialist in diabetes. As soon as possible. Do not get "put off". There is a likelihood that you may require hospitalization and intravenous medications. You are a candidate for an emergency room in a teaching hospital.
Avatar f tn I have had anxiety attacks over thinking I have brain tumors, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, allergic reactions, the list goes on and on. For me, I have to take control of my fears, so this might help you. Accept that what you are experiencing is not a brain tumor but anxiety. You will not die from the anxiety and it will not harm you as long as you can accept that this is what is causing your symptoms.
Avatar n tn It can be due to stress and anxiety, poor communication with your partner, unrealistic sexual expectations, which make sex a task rather than a pleasure, negative feelings about non performance, smoking, alcohol and sometimes illicit drugs and medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid conditions, poor circulation, low testosterone, depression or spinal or neurological causes.

Avatar f tn I do not know if I am at the right forum, but I have always heard that burning and numbness in hands and feet is a sign of diabetes!!!!??? Anyone ever experience these sensations before? If it is serious we will go to the doc but it is hard because we have no insurance and cannot afford it. Should we go anyway?
Avatar n tn After undergoing a coronary angiography, my mom was told that 4 of her arteries are blocked at 50%, and the remaining 3 over 75%. The doctors advise bypass surgery. She has had 3 strokes in the last 10 years (2 most recently in '06 and last month) and has had diabetes over 35 years. What are her chances of surviving the surgery? Can medication help her at this point or is too late for that?
Avatar f tn If you notice that eating a few pieces of orange makes the shakes go away, then you likely have developing diabetes. Which means blood sugar went too low and eating the orange restored sugar levels. Other symptoms include frequent urination and great thirst, among others.
Avatar f tn I love the poll on meds! Many of us have sought connections between MS and other health issues. Let's develop a list of other health issues and then poll the forum. What issues should we include? 1. thyroid 2. tachycardia/arrhythmia 3. hypertension 4. diabetes 5. gall bladder 6. arthritis 7. psoriasis 8. I'm drawing a blank, but I know there are other issues mentioned frequently on the forum?????
Avatar n tn my brother baby passed away after a month old from heart problems and my sister baby passed away at birth and my younger brother has one working kidney and giantism so I have a lot of health issues in my family that's the only reason I ask.
Avatar f tn The diagnosis of PCOS has been confirmed. I've got all the symptoms except polycystic ovaries, which means I'm in the early stages (thank the Lord!) The doctor---a nurse practitioner named Katie---said that as far as they can tell, I don't have any cysts they can pick up on ultrasound, but they're going to do pelvic ultrasounds every few months to watch for any. She told me that we should be able to hold off the cysts for a while with medication because of how early we caught it.
Avatar f tn I think it's a good idea that he's seeing a Cardiologist. There might be some heart problems going on ,even if the EKG says that everything is okay. I'm not saying that an EKG is not a very good test, but sometimes people need further testing to find out what's going on.
973741 tn?1342342773 So ACCORD would seem to say that its really all about the risk factors for heart disease being the same for T2DM, and that explains why they go together. However, there is this curiosity: "...one medical study found that people with diabetes who had no other health risk factors for heart disease were 5 times more likely to die of heart disease than those without." https://www.webmd.
Avatar f tn I have gd, it's not fun. You are considered high risk and will begin seeing an obgyn every two weeks. The plus side is that everything is monitored and you'll hear baby's heart twice a month, so if something isn't right they'll definitely catch it. The down side is tracking your sugars. I'll never, ever get used to poking my own finger.
Avatar n tn Hi, ejection fraction values below 35% are indicative of heart failure. If medical therapy fails, cardiac transplantation is recommended for all eligible patients with an LVEF below 20% regardless of clinical symptoms. It is difficult to predict the exact prognosis, as this depends on other co morbid conditions like diabetes and hypertension and the cause for the low ejection fraction values. Patients with heart failure have a 5-year mortality rate approaching 50 percent in some studies.
159619 tn?1707018272 I have a question on what exercise levels are best to maintain good cardiac health. About me, in Feb 2005, I had a little scare with some chest pain and went to the ER to be safe. They kept me overnight to do an echo, thallium stress test and more blood tests to see where I was which we did, all came back normal. Turned out to be GERD. When I saw a new cardiologist a year later as reccommended, she repeated all the same tests, all normal again.
Avatar m tn Alcoholism can also cause a condition called cardiomyopathy, which is damage to your heart, causing it to stretch and weaken over time. A weak heart struggles to pump blood throughout the body, and fluids can leak into your body tissues. A common symptom of this problem is swelling hands and feet. With relation to diabetes, he can do blood work to find out. https://www.webmd.
