Avatar f tn to help me, I take a gummy fiber supplement, I put ground flax seed in my yogurt, drink lots of water, and eat beans too. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn Note that if you were to take a purified flaxseed oil, you would get the omega-3s but not the fiber or phytochemicals naturally present in flax. You would avoid the cyanogenic compounds, but the risk of rancidity would remain. If you are interested in using flaxseed oil, look for a brand that contains all the beneficial compounds found in the intact seed. These include the phytochemicals known as lignans. Flaxseed oils should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
Avatar n tn I am 26 weeks and finally found out what will get rid of it. I take ground flax seeds and eat it on oatmeal and I was drinking fresh juice made with my juicer. I haven't done either of these things for a week or so and I'm still not constipated. I'm not sure which one was helping or if it was a combination of both, but it really got rid of it. For the first time in 10 pregnancies I'm not in pain when I go to the restroom. If you really want to get rid of it, try this.
1727909 tn?1314845210 Hi there! Well, without a detailed description or a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to say if the hunger could be related to GERD and if it would resolve with a surgical intervention. Aside GI causes, increased hunger could also result from hormonal/ endocrine and neurological causes. I would suggest consulting a gastroenterologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
1976414 tn?1326171323 can I drink boost with flax seed oil in it for the fat content required for incivek doses
Avatar m tn Fish oil pills are an excellent way to raise your HDL and lower LDL due to the high content of the Omege 3 fatty acids that they contain. Anything that has a high Omega 3 content will have this effect, such as flax seed. Most commercial eggs are commonly high in Omega 6 fatty acids due to the fact that they are raised in cages and eat the seeds of plants that have a high Omega 6 content. Omega 6 fatty acids have the effect of raising LDL levels in the blood.
Avatar n tn Hello -- I have been trying to find out whether consuming flax seed would interfere with the efficacy of the taxol / herceptin treatments that I am receiving for my breast cancer. I understand from a study done at the University of Toronto that flax seed may help to eliminate breast cancer. However, I would not want to consume anything that would interfere with my regular medical treatment. The cancer is in the left side of my lymph system. It is estrogen-receptor and HER-2 positive.
Avatar n tn My husband has severe dry eyes, and has started taking omega 3 and flax seed oil. It is working very well, but his dose (after gradual increase to a point of benefit) is more than recommended. Can he overdose on 3 times the normal dose of purified omega 3 fish oil..the brand he takes is Health from the Sea PFO pure fish oil liquid. He takes twice the dose of the flax seed oil (same brand name).
6366876 tn?1381757055 Also I put a scoop of ground flax seed in my smoothies as well.
Avatar f tn I use a stabalized ground flax seed product to provide about 2/3 of my daily Omega-3 and a high quality fish oil capsule for the final third. The flax adds a pleasant nutty flavor to the small portion of yogurt I mix it with. I use products with (if I remember right) a 6:1 ratio of Omega-3:Omega-6. I get plenty of O-sixes from my diet (they are easy for most of us) but don't eat nearly enough foods rich in O-threes to keep a good ratio going.
1679513 tn?1342481238 Water water water! Try drinking 2 warm pints every morning as soon as possible after waking (I blend a lemon and a chunk of fresh ginger into mine) and then take in regular fluid throughout the day (totalling around 3-4 litres) Diluted juice and fruit teas are good ways to top up. This has been a morning habit of mine for years although at19 weeks pregnant i am finding that i still need way more fluid in the day than normal...but i haven't had a day of constipation...Good luck!
Avatar f tn I'm dealing with this issue since november. I am also an IBS'r but was always a problem of frequent going, not at all. Nov and Dec have been bad once a week I would have to take a bunch of laxatives because I couldn't go on my own. Have now started ground flaxseed in a smoothie everyday like Twopack.
Avatar n tn of GROUND Flax Seed every day. Mix with Orange Juice. It is really good for your health and will help the constipation. If you've been constipated for a long period of time, you might need to take a suppository (glycerin or ducolox) first, but continue the flax everyday. It has to be "ground".
394687 tn?1290920840 (I only wash it once a week now as it is already falling out) But my skin rash and most the skin iitching went away after I started taking the flax seed oil/ cottage cheese smoothy and biotin.
Avatar f tn s suggestions, or oatmeal with chopped nuts and brown sugar and ground flax, or yogurt with nuts or a scrambled egg with vegetables in it. You want some protein and vegetables ideally. I agree you should forget about rules about what is a breakfast food. Nutrition and variety is what's important. Green tea with mint is nice. .
Avatar f tn if ever your that constipated just buy flax seed sprinkle it in your yogurt n drinks u can barely taste it but it works very well I'm 13 weeks 6 days n I had major constipation n by the night I had my flax seed problem was fixed n u dnt need a bunch just like 2 little pinches
Avatar f tn I have also found that taking ground flax seed daily helps constipation (I mix it into yogurt). It can initially can cause increased gas. I'm not sure it's the cure for you unless this becomes a chronic condition. Keep in mind that additional fiber just adds to the bulk in your gut if you don't drink enough water or do something to get 'stuff' moving through. In my own experience fiber alone almost never helps constipation.
Avatar f tn My gynecologist told me not to take the laxatives and to take a fiber supplement. I eat a fairly healthy diet including fruits and vegetables. I had a colonoscopy about 4 years ago which was normal. My bowels do not move every day either, which is a question my gyne. asked about too. The only fiber supplements I can find are either chewable tablets or a powder to mix in a drink, both of which I have a severe aversion to. The only other fibers I find OTC are to be used only when needed.
2212714 tn?1342258744 There are many loaded protein powders, two I am trying in small amounts. So far the ground flax and hemp have been fine. It is something that keeps me busy in the stores when I shop! So far I have lost 5 pounds and feel more chipper. Also added Garcinia Combogia which seems to be making me more perky. perhaps you are familiar with this fruit supplement with a bit of potassioum among other minerals. Has anyone else out there tried the above supplement and what was your opinion of the same?
