In the beginning we tried Similac, but caused serious constipation. Then Enfamil caused serious gas pains. FINALLY , I asked our pedi and they highly recommended Gerber. It's amazing!
Not a pregnancy question but i need some input i just had my baby june 27 and hes been home since monday he seems to have real bad colic & gas and i hate seeing him in pain have any of you ladies experienced/experiencing this if so how did you help it?
My five month old daugther gets horrible, painful, gas everytime we try stage 1 baby food. I have tried rice cereal, peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatos, prunes and apple sauce. The only baby food she can tolerate is single grained oatmeal. I have bought all the brands and made my own. I will give her just 4 small spoonfuls once a day to test her and we are battling gas all day and night. We had a similar issue with her formula until I tried soy Similac.
Some babies are just colicky and it's something they have to outgrow. When trying a new formula you should give it about a week. Also the age that babies will cry the most is 6-10 weeks old so it may just be something that he needs to work through. If you think it's upset stomach/gas you could try giving him gripe water. It can work wonders.
He was fussy to the point of unbearable. Passing large amounts of gas, had stomach distention, and was appearing to be jaundiced. He was hospitalized for 8 days and during this time began running a low-grade temp after feedings (99.4 - 100.6). what kind of medicines do i need to have at home for an infant? I know baby tylenol but for the most part am clueless. i know there are drops for gas and i something to drink after ingesting something poisonous. Can you ladies clue me in on what I should have at home?

Hi - My 11 month old son has been having severe abdominal pain and gas at night. He can't tell me what's wrong, but I can tell from his writhing that's his abdominal area that's causing the pain. He screams and screams. It's only been happening for a month or two. I think it's due to dairy and 'gassy' vegetables.
Possibly. He supposedly had a milk protein allergy as an infant but by 1 years old when we tried real milk, he didn't have the same symptoms (excessive gas, blood in stool). We'll see how it goes. I did start cutting out his before bed milk.
also I would like to add to this that she has also had extensive ummm gas lately. The more I read the more confused I get. I have read that premature adrenarche shows no other signs than curly pubic hair and auxiliary hair. my daughters pubic hair is not curly? and she has had acne and black heads for a few years now. Do you think she might have been misdiagnosed and does anyone have any ideas for me.
My son used to hold his gas and it would turn to lower gas, every morning at around 3am he would wake screaming from the pain. We are in Australia and used gripe water, infacol and moved his legs around in big circles to get him to fart. Another way I found to relieve him was to prop him up a bit when he sleeps and also I laid on my side and draped him over my hip, so he was belly down. Deff get your dr to check because it could be something like collic or reflux.
I chose Similac advanced concentrate that you mix with water. I chose it because of the price and my 3 month old loves it. No gas or spit up problems. And I get coupons in the mail for it. If it give her gas or she spits up or has diarrhea then I would change it, if not any of those then I say it agrees with her. Hope this helps!
I am a Mom on a mission to find out what is causing my 13 year old daughter to suffer from severe gas on a daily basis. I believe that I already have the answers but am looking for some guidance.
