trapped gas pain symptoms

I have been told that I have IBS. Well Ive always seem to get trapped gas but lately its being happening more often. Its very painful. the pain is in my abdomen and in my upper back on nothing seems to relieve it Ive tried Gas X meds and those similar to it. Is there anything else I can try?

i knew from a report that abdominal pain can be caused by ars and there are documented cases about this symptons, but i want to know the ars related abominal pain is more like inflamation of bowel or it is like trapped gas??? or simplay can ars cause trapped gas pain?? thanks doctor..your words mean more than a relief to me...

I was fine through out the day, I haven't eaten anything to cause me really bad gas. As I laid down I suddenly had horrible pain in my abdominal area. Like it was bad. I wanted to cry. I did pelvic lifts and I even tried to move baby around to let some of the gas through. It probably took me about a couple minutes. I moved to my left side and right and I wanted to cry cause of the pain. It finally went away, and it happened again right now.

I thought it at first to be trapped gas but this feels different. I have no other symptoms, no fever, chills, no elevated heart rate or bp. I do suffer from GERD and take 40mg of prilosec and 150 mg of Zantac as needed up to 2xs daily. I do have trapped gas in my chest a good bit and use gas-x for it. I did have upper gi series that came back unremarkable outside of fatty liver. Blood work was normal outside of slightly elevated ast/alt, hep was negative. My question is two fold.....

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and have cramped almost everyday since around 4 weeks but all is normal. I notice the cramps are worse if i have gas especially trapped gas. If there's no bleeding I wouldn't be too concerned though I was before I knew everything was okay.

I am 43 years old and for the past three years I have been getting these pains in my chest just under my breast down to about my belly button with backache pains from about the shoulder blades down to lower back. They come at random times, normally I would be asleep and be woken up from them, they start of as a dull pain under my breast and then the pain moves to my stomach just about where my belly button is, then my lower back will hurt (sharp pains).

Have anyone gotten really bad trapped gas pain? I have such bad pain from eating stuffed mushrooms. How do you get rid of it fast?

i havent lost my appetite , my back hurts so much too its ridiculous , or i expirinence bellybutton pain when im super constipated , or i also get chest pain my breast hurts like it feels like really bad trapped gas , i also expirience pain under bellybutton like where the anus is located , i sometimes get pain on my appendix area & i worry last time i was constipated trying to have a bowlment & only gas came out with mucus ! can this be maybe ibs or appendix attacks ?

I told my doctors about those pains, and sometimes they would bring me to tears! They told me it was trapped gas , or round ligament pains from stretching.

should I worry about a swollen/dilated pancreatic duct, though have upper abdominal pain swelling gas and pain,bile in stomach,in pain everyday..Plus digestive problems with excessive gas,trapped gas in intestines?

I looked up all my symptoms online and concluded that it was probably just trapped gas. I have been belching and passing gas a lot. i notice that when i do so, it eases my chest pains some but never all the way. i ended up going to the dr because im also experienceing shortness of breath. he took a chest xray, and all my vitals and said everything looked good. so all he ended up doing was prescribing me ibuprofen to ease my chest pains. i guess my question is can gas last an entire week?

The only way to diagnose IBS is by your symptoms and trapped gas causing pain which is relieved when passing the gas is a biggie. Look at what you are eating and drinking on a regular basis and eliminate one thing and see if this improves....if not add that food back into your diet and remove another...this is how you will find out if it's food causing the problem. Other symptoms of IBS is constipation or diarrhea and alternating between the two.

I also have the same feelings with the trapped gas chest pain back pain... I have upper right and left pains plus diarrhea and blood in stool... All my chest x rays and ekgs came back fine... All I can say is hang in there and go to the doctor... I know waiting on an appointment seems like a life time!!!

Does it feel like a period cramping or stabbing type pain? After I had my miscarriage I had an awful cramping pain that turned out to be a lot of trapped gas that wouldn't pass. I ended up in the er bc I thought something was seriously wrong. I read that after a miscarriage your body is trying to return to normal and your system slows down so that's why the gas was trapped and was taking forever to get out. Try taking some gas x and use a heating pad or warm bath.

t aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.

Yes! The best advice I can give you is to walk as much as possible. When I had my son the nurses literally had me walk 10-15 minutes every hour. Depending on if I was up for it or not. They said the walking breaks up the gas that's trapped. Hope you feel better!

I've had a lot of right side shoulder/neck pain also. I'm thinking that mine is from trapped gas (my cyst has caused a lot of gastro issues). I didn't make the connection until I read that trapped gas is almost always referred through the right shoulder. Could your pain possibly be the same?
