996946 tn?1503249112 see what is known for cats and ask through one of the on line vet assistants - they'll help. If I had this problem again with a cat, I'd administer only 2 drops of the oregano tea AFTER I researched a lot of options. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Call the doctor who gave you the gabapentin. Check to see if the symptoms you are having are listed as side effects of the gaba.
551343 tn?1506830518 The pain in my left thigh is horrible. It feels like the nerves in my leg are fully exposed it makes me feel sick, and the burning and fizzing and prickling has got worse whether I sit, stand or lay down there is no relief only sleep. Thanks for all your support guys.
Avatar n tn All my cats are indoor cats. Indoor cats live longer and stay healthier. I do leave them out in the back yard on weekends for about an hour, supervised of course.
Avatar f tn I have another cat and a dog that get Frontlined along with nieve every 3month. I use indorex flea spray in my home every 10month (it lasts 12month) and my cats are indoor cats. I read on here about allergies to fleas but she has had fleas before (when we got her) and she did not have a reaction then. She's been completely clean for over a year now so I'm pretty sure it's not fleas. I've also seen ringworm on a cat and it's not this either.
Avatar m tn Revolution is primarily a treatment for fleas in cats and dogs but it is approved for ear mites in both.
1701959 tn?1488551541 Doc has recommended steroid injections, going to see pain doc in a few days. Steroid pack did NOTHING, Advil is a joke. They said I can try Gabapentin. Has anyone had luck with it? Also how did the steroid injections work? Anyone recover from a neck nerve issue without the need for surgery? Thanks all!
1563533 tn?1345366296 I have always had houseplants and my cats never seemed to care. My cats, however, were indoor-outdoor cats. I think cats require an outside life, unlike dogs whose life is with their masters.
Avatar m tn gabapentin is for my MS. At any rate 30 min. Later, all vitals returned to normal. Should I tell my PCP?
Avatar f tn He will take anything he can get his hands on. He has been in rehab three times in one year. He’s in rehab right now. Rewind to a few months ago... he got a script for gabapentin and abused it. He got high off of abusing it. And he flushed the rest. Last weekend he picked up another bottle of the gabapentin prescribed by his dr outside of his rehab.
3135572 tn?1342657739 Get OFF Gabapentin. In 2020, a thorough study came out implicating Gabapentin in Alzheimer's and other dementia. If you've taken it more than 3 years (I have!) you are at highest risk. Anything, apparently, which alters your brain chemistry to help you sleep, like Ambien, has been implicated in dementia...OTC sleep drugs too!
Avatar m tn I feel so tired already and more tired on gabapentin. I am now at 1200mg daily. I might as well stay in bed. My ENT doctor keeps increasing the dosage to help "fix" my vocal cord and coughing problem. I am so discouraged today. throat feels like it has a lump in it. My ankles, calves and back hurts as well as pricking feeling in feet. I see my ENT tomorrow again and am going to ask for a referral if he can't figure this out.
Avatar m tn "It is not a narcotic, therefore much easier to taper down your dose." I respectfully disagree. Gabapentin can be downright dangerous to come off if not done right, and in THIS case, we're talking very high doses. OP, I agree completely with vicki that you need to seek medical attention for this, and soon. You are risking very a serious health crisis taking the much Neurontin. PLEASE read the info below.
Avatar f tn I have taken Gabapentin before for pain and found it about as useless as a screen door in a submarine. Yeah I know the "top doctors" prescribe it. They also used to prescribe blood-letting. In addition it seems to lower a persons IQ by about forty points (I know...that's a figure of speech), cause loss of memory, headaches, and loss of libido. I think there are many alternatives to be considered before using Gabapentin, such as a frontal lobotomy.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed gabapentin this week for nerve damage in that area of my back. I am in first week on it and taking 600mg per day.
Avatar n tn I was taking Gabapentin 300 mg for extreme nerve pain in my foot, it worked like magic for approx. 3 months then stopped being effective. Any Thoughts - Reasons?
Avatar f tn s this past round were not as brutal as a flat out ct stint I did back in April..So, I believe the gabapentin did help some. Something else my doctor prescribed which you may want to ask yours about is clonidine. It is suppose to help restabilize your sleep.. So get some immodium, gatorade, soup, premake some sandwiches, and tough it out. When I got real depressed or caught myself staring at the clock wondering when all this would end, I got up and moved around.
Avatar f tn I am no longer on my gabapentin and I am still in pain from Chiari malformation, a brain tumor and degenerative disc disease but at least I am not edgy on top of it. I feel "normal" after getting that stuff outta my body.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am on 3000 mg. of Gabapentin now too, and I'm finding it does not seem to help the pain and spasms in my legs. I am also on Baclofen, and tried Zanaflex but coudl not tolerate the Zanaflex., even at a small dose. The Baclofen seems to help with spacisity, but not the pain, so we still have the stiffness and pain, and that ICE COLD feeling that we get in the calf muslcles of my legs. Why are you going off the Gabapentin?
Avatar f tn Hi could anyone help me please?
Avatar f tn Im going to start to slowly reduce the Gabapentin in hope that the itch subsides and hope the neuropathic pain does not return. Just wanted to put this out there in hope that someone can help me.
Avatar n tn I am a 50 yr old male. I was prescribed Gabapentin for neurological pain management by the VAMC in Tampa, Florida. According to some post I've read, Gabapentin is a med that one must be weened off of. I've been taking Gabapentin off and on to help with pain so I can sleep. I don't take it all the time because of the side effects. Sometimes, but not all the time, I feel like I'm having a bad hangover after the medication wears off.
Avatar f tn Hi everybody hubby finished tx in April last year, he achieved SVR thank god but it made his periphal neuropathy a lot worse and he is only getting a few hours sleep a night before the pain wakes him up so he as to get up to try to allieviate the pain. His doc as tried all kinds of tablets but none have worked so far. A few days ago she put him on gabapentin and i just wondered if any of you have had it and if so does it help?
Avatar f tn Could gabapentin change up the sensation like this? Or can I figure that the gabapentin has done nothing, and my body is just switching it up? The gabapentin couldn't CAUSE the nerve pain, could it? I am totally thrilled to've gotten rid of the freaky patches. However, it'd be nice to see the pain go too now! My doctor increased my dose to 600 mg a day now, and so, I guess what I'm wondering is, does this dose sound large enough to be effective?
