Avatar f tn I had CTS surgery 4 weeks ago which relieved the tingling and numbness in my thumb, index and middle finger. Prior to surgery I had numbness in all of my fingers on my right hand. They did an EMG and found loss to all my fingers. After surgery now both my ringfinger, little finger and that outer side of my hand are totally numb. I am also experiencing pain in the palm of my hand so bad that I have to take Ultram or Hydracodone.
Avatar n tn I try feeling a vein in my other finger but cant find one. This is the first time it happen, and the left hand middle finger is the only place its happening. So please tell what i should do, in order to get rid of this numbness in my finger.
1336836 tn?1275740921 Most likely your symptoms could be due to injury to a nerve, pressure on spinal or peripheral nerves (neuropathy), vitamin deficiency, lack of blood supply due to cholesterol plaque from atherosclerosis in the extremities, viral infection and use of certain medications. In addition, atherosclerosis can also cause pain, numbness, and tingling in extremities. They can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness.
Avatar m tn was interesting to read your article, i sometimes get my right hand that goes freezing cold, and i get numbness in the tips of my figers, and shooting pain up my thumb. i have just been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, i have the problem in both feet and hands, which they call glove and sock syndrome, may be interesting if you have just the glove syndrome. it does sound to me, although i am not a doctor, it is from the nerves, neuro, or circulatory.
Avatar f tn at times when i wake up in the morning i would feel a slight numbness along the outer sides of both my arms, ring finger and my small finger.... sometimes there would also be slight numbness along the outer side of my legs....this occurs when i sleep straight on my back, if i selpt sideways i dont get this sensation in the morning but because of knee pain i cant sleep sideways at all times...
Avatar f tn However, whilst it was amazing for about three weeks, within days of increasing from 225mg a day to 300mg I lost control of my bladder three times in a week, then started to experience pain and soreness in the tendons of my feet, then my elbows, and two weeks ago (when I stopped talking it) my pinky and ring fingers on one hand have gone almost completely numb.
Avatar f tn It depends on where the pain and numbness is. There is a cause of numbness of the index finger and middle finger called carpal tunnel syndrome. It usually also has sensory changes of the palm at the thumb, index and middle fingers, and the ring finger on the side near the middle finger. I am not sure if you have these other features or not, but I will elaborate on this. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a compression/entrapment syndrome of the median nerve at the wrist.
Avatar n tn s the left arm - triceps and little finger and ring finger. The numbness/tingling comes and goes every few minutes. My forearm and all the rest are unaffected. I'm right handed, I don't use the left much. Doesn't hurt though. I sleep on my side, switching frequently as I'm a light sleeper. It's just troubling to consider, especially being layed off with no insurance.
Avatar m tn Trauma due to sudden jerky forward neck movement can cause weakness, pain, tingling, numbness, and electrical sensation in shoulder and arms. Weakness and decreased sensation are also noted. You also have symptoms in the legs, which could be due to the prolapsed disc pressing on the spinal cord. You would require an MRI spine for precise detailing of findings. Management would depend on diagnosis if confirmed.
1625195 tn?1332178662 But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling. Things to note: I did not bang my elbow on anything. I have rested it while sitting at my computer and have been bending it and actively using my left arm where my left arm has had to bend fast and flex out with more than ten pounds (lifting and putting away groceries mostly).
Avatar n tn i have heartburn, numbness from the left elbow to the end of my pinky finger and ring finger
Avatar n tn Hi, Your distribution of pain, numbness and tingling are like glove and stocking distribution of nerve dysfunction. Pain, tingling and numbness are suggestive of neuropathy. This type of neuropathy could be due to Nutritional deficiency.
Avatar n tn In addition, atherosclerosis can also cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking and they can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness. Please consult your doctor to get all these possibilities evaluation in your case for further assessment. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn i have numbness, tingling, and pain in my feet, toes and legs, also hands and fingers. i had a nerve test done and was told i had polyneuropathy!
Avatar m tn The pain in my upper back/lower neck came back really bad, as did the numbness in my index finger and tip of my right thumb. Turning my head does not seem to help. Doctor prescribed Vicodin and muscle relaxers, plus physical therapy. Since this is an HMO (Kaiser), Physical therapy was 6 weeks out. I went to a Chiropactor while waiting on PT. The Chiropractor took xrays and said my disc at one level (lower C or upper T?) was very narrow and told me there was nothing he could do.
Avatar n tn Hi, which fingers are involved in numbness? If it is little and ring finger, probably it is ulnar nerve entrapment and if it is in rest of the fingers, probably it is median nerve related with carpal tunnel syndrome. As you have mentioned elbow rest causes pain, this happens due to compression of ulnar nerve which passes through elbow joint.
Avatar f tn Once a week or so my pinky finger and part of my hand and the tip of my ring finger on my right hand have a numb sensation. Not pins and needles, but like it just fell asleep and blood flow has not returned yet. I have tried massage, yoga and chiropractic treatments. Do you have any suggestions for further treatments? I hate taking medications, but at this point I am willing to try anything. Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn You are able to shake it around and get the circulation to return to the area but if the nerve gets pinched off too long or remains pinched it blocks the circulation from being able to return and you have the numbness and pain, and can have nerve damage as a result. Continue to try to move it around, and roll and stretch your neck maybe you can eventually stretch the areas enough to unpinch the nerve.

Avatar m tn When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred to chest, inner lining of scapula (shoulder bone), shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger. Repeated clicking of mouse of computer can injure the tendon of index, cause compression of median nerve and also cause this numbness. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!

In the beginning the feeling would come and go, now it seems to be more constant. As far as i know i didnt do anything to injure myself. Is this serious, who should i see?
