Finger pain while typing

Common Questions and Answers about Finger pain while typing

finger

Avatar n tn Hi Meanwhile if you can visit a chiropractor and learn some finger and wrist exercises, it may help. Give proper support to wrist while typing. I would say invest in a good computer chair with proper arm, wrist and back support. Try to type giving minimum pressure to the keys. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn So, I've been having some annoying pain in my right ring finger on the under side. I want to say it feels like a really bad paper cut or being poked with a ton of little needles. I don't know if I did anything to it, it tends to hurt more with use, but only on the underside.
Avatar n tn Of late, I have noticed mild pain in my right hand and wrist especially when on the computer. The pain is more neuralgic type and not necessarily bone or muscle pain. I feel it is also finger specific, especially all my fingers other than my thumb and pinkie all of which I use to move the cursor. I am afraid I may have carpal tunnel. Please do suggest what to do now.
Avatar m tn The vitamin D deficiency was diagnosed when suddenly I started having trouble typing with my left hand. My fingers would pain and I had trouble pressing keys of the keyboard with left hand. (all this while my right hand was ok). My doctor suggested me to test Vitamin D and found that I had deficiency. I have been taking medications to improve vitamin D for 3 months but my conditions with fingers hasn't improved.
Avatar m tn Do any of you zone out while typing? I don't know if this best describes what I'm doing but it seems like I go into a trance of sorts while typing and end up making a ton of errors I don't even notice even though I'm staring at the screen the whole time.
1467506 tn?1286413017 ) The pain begins at my knuckle joint and extends down all fingers, some wrist pain as well though that seems to come and go whereas finger pain is always there, just intensity changes with activity. I am planning on finding a hand doc this week but wanted to know if this sounded like anything any of you have experienced before. Might it be from the FM or is it most likely not related?
Avatar m tn I’ve had a history of dismissible pain (mostly tingling), but it was always gone the next morning, while this has been consistent in some form or another for an entire week. Attempting to use a splint results in pain centered above the veins on the back of my palm. The restraints are so tight they cut circulation and seem to make the pain worse rather than better. I’ve a habit of turning onto my side at night and in the process cut off the circulation.
Avatar f tn Yesterday, When I woke up and went about my day slowly (I do a good amount of typing on a keyboard) I realized there was a pain in my right-hand middle finger. A little pressure-like pain in my fingers very occasionally is normal for me (now that I think about it, maybe that should be concerning) so I mostly ignored it and, unhelpfully, I was absentmindedly messing with it.
Avatar f tn Lately i have had numbness in my thumb, index finger, midfle finger, ring finger and pinky finger as well as pain in this fingers. My wrist, forearm, and elbow gets pain in it. I also get pain when i grip something too long. I also have a hard time laying in bed typing. Is this tendons, ligaments, nerve, inflammation?
Avatar m tn Recently I've been experiencing slight pain on my left index finger due to typing all day. Are there any exercises, medicines, or remedies for this aside from stopping to type(not an option sadly) altogether? Thank you.
Avatar n tn s getting harder to use the left index finger for much of anything (including typing) without increasing the pain. Is this something I should have a dr. look at asap? (My regular doctor won't be available for another week.) TIA for any replies.
Avatar m tn The other possibility is Scalene Myofascial Pain Syndrome. When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred chest, inner lining of scapula, shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger.
Avatar m tn m wanting to get some advice from professionals or someone who has been in the same situation. I broke the proximal joint on my pinky finger about 3 years ago. 2 weeks later i went to the doctor to find out that they had to rebreak it and put 8 screws and a plate in it. My finger is very stiff and im starting to feel pain throughout my hand and arm now. I attached photos below. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, what was the solution & outcome?
1830047 tn?1321667793 Hi buffy regularly. I am always having numb fingers, tingling hands and stuff. I just think its another part of my stupid illness. You should be very careful climbing into attics lol. That alone would make your legs feel weak.
Avatar n tn I have been having severe pain...like nerve ending smart pain periodically in my finger. It almost takes to the ground it is so painful. Sometime it takes 30 - 40 minutes for my finger to feel better. Is it normal for a tendon to be remove to fix a clicking finger? If so, is the pain normal? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I ended up having to hold my finger down forcibly for a week to get its movement back. I was able to bring it back to about 90%. Shortly after I started noticing pain in my finger accompanied by random tingling and sharp shooting pains. For the most part over the past 6 years I've dealt with it (I have no insurance so I cant see a doctor). The pain comes and becomes more painful the more I use that finger. This year I got a new job that has me typing most of my day.
Avatar f tn You need to get it xrayed immediately. Apply a cold compress to the hand and arm. If you have cold natural yogurt you can apply that and wrap it loosely. Wrap the hand and arm lightly with a bandage or a towel so as to support the hand arm and ask your mom to tie a triangular bandage (if you haven't got one use a T-towel or towel) to help support the arm and keep it elevated. Will you be punching any more walls in the future? Best to punch a pillow, it's less painful!
Avatar m tn I am at my computer and all of a sudden my middle right finger started shaking crazily. It never did that again. As far as I know I am in excellant health for 65. I take 10 mg Lipator and allergy over the counter remedys, I do have sleep apthea but am on CPAP therapy. I have a complete physical every year with a six month follow up. Blood pressure has always been excellant. I have been very tired the last couple of days, but attributed it to the Clariton and Benedryl. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Some days ago while returning I saw some dogs crossed me and I felt sth by my finger and I thought that dog bite ...How can I confirm myself that what is a dog bite and what is a not...I m dying from inside..
Avatar m tn The pricky sensation in in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of ring finger certainly indicate involvement of median nerve which is most commonly involved in carpal tunnel syndrome. however if u feel such sensation in elbows, the median nerve may be involved somewhat higher up.
Avatar m tn well i'm so afraid while typing this that it will be melanoma. i have this darkened spot that is more rough than the rest of the skin it doesn't itch or anything it's been there for a while maybe a year it. i put my hand in fire alot. it's here in this link my middle finger near the first joint https://imgur.com/pXoNarq.
Avatar m tn My doctor came into the room, tested me for CT, and aftering determining I didn't have carpal tunnel told me I had RSI, wrote a presciption for Diclofenac and left. It took him all of five minutes and I didn't even get to finish telling him what was wrong. My finger joints are stiff sometimes, from typing and my wrist is tight/stiff. When I flex, I can feel a numb pain (not numbness as in can't feel) move along the back of my hand, in the pattern of my veins.
Avatar m tn I agree with astronot. Your symptoms are most likely cause by strain and overuse. Also, texting on your cell phone a lot can cause hand pain. Remedies? At work you could try rolling a towel under your palms or wrist while typing to support some of your arm's weight while typing. There are several topical analgesic ointments you can buy at your local drug store. After a long day of typing, try some ice packs for a few minutes on the sore areas.
Avatar f tn My ring finger middle finger and thumb lock up. It helps when I take a shower and let the hot water run over my hands if I rotate my wrists and bend my fingers just to work out the kinks. Also I sleep with my hand wrapped up in an ace bandage and it helps with the swelling.
