Avatar n tn Please consult an orthopaedist and rheumatologist and discuss this possibility and start the treatment as your symptoms don’t relate to any other disorder but Fibromyalgia . Prostate problems and UTIs are more frequent in patients with Fibromyalgia . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue and multiple tender points — places on your body where slight pressure causes pain. Fibromyalgia is more common in women than in men. Previously, fibromyalgia was known by other names such as fibrositis, chronic muscle pain syndrome, psychogenic rheumatism and tension myalgias.
937868 tn?1570328281 This association is strengthened by observations that women who have fibromyalgia are much more likely to have late onset of menstruation and lower fertility rates than women without fibromyalgia. Many of the most common fibromyalgia symptoms—widespread muscle pain, fatigue, poor sleep, gastrointestinal problems, and depression—also occur regularly in people who have demonstrated hormonal deficiencies.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from fibromyalgia for years. I have been taking vitiman B6/B-12 shots, and they help me with the pain of the disease. I"ve been trying to find out where to buy the B-6, I already have the B-12. Can anyone let me know if there is somewhere to buy B-6. Also, Rodex Forte is good for the off days, so I need to buy that also.
Avatar f tn Very interesting. I think it's so so crazy that I have all this pain due to Vit D def, but, apparently it's that important. Thank you for that! I don't want to have fibromyalgia, naturally, but it was like "There's got to be more to this than a Vit def!" Guess we shall see what the doc has to say in a few days when I return!
Avatar f tn Today I had to go to town and while driving I had the most sharp pain in the muscle part of my upper arms. Once I got home and took med they eased up quite a bit. Is this from fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn i need good vitamins i have fibromyalgia and need energy. i live in pain everyday.
Avatar m tn Recently, a randomized controlled study found that increasing vitamin D blood levels from a mean of 19 ng/mL to about 50 ng/mL was associated with a modest decrease in fibromyalgia pain (a 20 point decrease on a 100 point scale). The study involved 30 adults (mostly women) in Austria with fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn (the only 2 pilsl doctros can prescribe are antidepressants and they dont really work because you cant fix depression just with antidepressants) Do you know that women are 9 times more likely to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia? Try exercising regularly and have a vegetable based diet. Paranoia, anxiety all exacerbate the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Try doing breathing exercises. Ive just met with all these new techniques and they really do help, though it's a slow process...
Avatar f tn I could give you some general information about fibromyalgia and some of the medications used to treat it, but I think you would be better served by going to our Fibromyalgia Forum and talk with the folks there who are enduring the same pain and symptoms as you.
Avatar f tn Researchers investigating the physical basis for the condition have documented numerous chemical differences between those with and without fibromyalgia. The research findings are beginning to change a few minds, said Laurence Bradley, a psychologist and professor of medicine at the University of Alabama's medical school in Birmingham. He also does research into fibromyalgia.

630344 tn?1280104983 Does anoyone else out there pregnant and have fibromyalgia? If so does it get better or do you stay in pain for the majority of the pregnancy, I am having headaches that pretty much do not ever go away and my muscles never relax and I was given the ok to take Vicodin for the headaches occasionally, but I do not want to take Vicodin on a daily basis and I need some type of relief. I was getting some relief in the sauna, but I am obviously unable to do this any longer.
1353650 tn?1429463374 Yes, PCOS and insulin resistance are linked together. Because PCOS has so many different symptoms, not all women have the same symptoms.
676302 tn?1237863491 Have any of you had your female hormose tested and if so what was the results? I am beginning to think that this may have something to do with the way fibromyalgia effects us. I am thinking of asking my doctor to do these test Thanks for being here!
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia patients may also experience an increase in mood swings and dysmenorrhea, menstrual pain strong enough to disrupt day-to-day activities. Women whose fibromyalgia symptoms worsen during their menstrual periods experience a steadier pattern of fibromyalgia symptoms after menopause, though not necessarily a lessening of them. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Ten women meeting criteria for fibromyalgia and not taking an opioid medication. INTERVENTIONS: Naltrexone, in addition to antagonizing opioid receptors on neurons, also inhibits microglia activity in the central nervous system. At low doses (4.5 mg), naltrexone may inhibit the activity of microglia and reverse central and peripheral inflammation. Avatar f tn I hear that some women with fibromyalgia go into remission while pregnant. May have something to do with the increase in hormones, particularly progesterone. Progesterone has a calming effect on the body and is good for pain relief. Some people are even using natural progesterone cream for fibromyalgia treatment. I don't now how far along you are in your pregnancy, but maybe the pain will get better.
Avatar f tn Not sure that anybody has dealt with fibromyalgia while pregnant... I'm almost 6 weeks and the doctor doesn't want to see me until 10 weeks, so I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but my joints ACHE. Which I know is going to happen with the weight gain but it feels like they're being ripped from the sockets.
Avatar n tn Vliet, has information pertaining to all things hormonal and she recommends only bioidentical hormones for menopausal women (she is not totally against synthetic hormones for pre-menopausal women for several reasons). Her book is huge but so helpful. She also has a website where you can find information on Fibromyalgia. She is extremely suspicious of a huge connection between Fibromyalgia and decreasing (or non-existent...as is the case in a surgical menopause) ovarian hormones.
