If treatment does not yield result after 3 or 6 months, I'll stop. Most of us have strings of malaria in this part of the world (Nigeria) and we rarely even complain.

Avatar f tn At this time, there is no "cure" for fibromyalgia - one main reason being is they have not determined exactly what causes fibromyalgia. There are many thoughts and ideas on it, however, nothing has been scientifically proven/discovered. There also are no specific blood tests, scans, etc., for diagnosing fibromyalgia = there ARE certain critieria that need to be met before a true fibro diagnosis.
Avatar m tn The symptoms of fibromyalgia are aggravated due to poor sleep, high stress, and poor nutrition .There is no single cure for fibromyalgia. Firstly I will advise you to take a good sleep. Take plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink plenty of water every day. Avoid processed foods like white bread, junk food etc. and have whole grain foods. Exercise daily for 30-40 minutes. It will help in burning your calories and alleviating depressive symptoms if any.

Avatar f tn This is enough for now. I don't want to overwhelm you with information. Please check GAPS online for details Of course there are other possibilities, but this stands out more. Do your own research for the rest or consult with a Holistic doctor. Be careful with conventional medicine, as a diagnosis that fits all the symptoms in a "trash" type of medical label could be just like a medical sentence for life. No cure and symptom management medication for life!
Avatar f tn In addition, the majority of individuals can also have a thyroid receptor resistance that is not detected on the blood tests. Consequently, thyroid treatment, especially with timed release T3, is effective for many patients. T4 preparations (inactive thyroid) such as Synthroid and Levoxyl do not work well for these conditions." Kent Holtorf, M.D. --- link to article: http://www.immunesupport.com/fibromyalgia-treatment.

Avatar n tn Anti-seizure drugs are the conventional treatment for fibromyalgia. These include Neurontin and Lyrica. Nobody really knows how these medications treat the symptoms (particularly the aches and pains) of fibromyalgia. These medications can help some individuals with fibromyalgia. But these drugs also have serious side effects.

415098 tn?1214860436 Hi. I'm also suffering from fibromyalgia. This is a disease entity which is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning that other organic and more common disease conditions should be ruled out first (such as spine problems or musculoskeletal problems) before making this diagnosis. Fibromyalgia are somewhat correlated with our inability to have a REM sleep (rapid-eye-movement sleep) which makes us feel unenergized and tired even the first minute we wake up.

I am now 7 7 years old, just lost my husband, and I am trying to find soe relief. Has anyone been given the treatments I mentioned above.
Avatar f tn Have they checked you vit D level? Symptoms of vit D deficiency are: calf muscle & feet pain cramps in feet & legs muscle weakness waddling walk bone pain & weakness fatigue insomnia tingling in extremities diarrhea depression heart palpitations confusion/unorganized I know when the symptoms are flaring, I have to be careful NOT to push myself. Even when I've got a million things on my "to do" list. So the plan would be to exercise when your symptoms are not so bad.
