Avatar f tn Why does Ultram help with Fibromyalgia while other stronger opiates don't? Is Ultram an opiate?
Avatar n tn Mind you this isn't going to help with any of the withdrawls you are or probably will experience (according to what you said) coming of the ultram. Here'something in my drug book ultram is listed under narcotic/opiod analgesics. So I don't see how it couldn't be addictive.
Avatar f tn I look forward to the day when I don't have to worry about how I'm gonna get Ultram. Or how I am going to get the money to buy Ultram, or what story I will come up with to get my next refill early ( because trust me, I have come up with every story you could think of ) Any advice is more than appreciated. God Bless.
Avatar f tn My husband goes to the doctor with me to let him know he helps manage my meds and my doctor still makes my feel like some sort of drug addict. PS-- forget going on vacation and needing to go the ER with a dx of Fibromyalgia. Your lucky if they even give you a tylenol. Also----have tried all the antidepressant-they don't work!! All they do it cause weight gain and give your emotions a flatline.
Avatar n tn Since I've had Fibromyalgia, I have constant bursitis in my greater trocanter (hip bursa) as well as a constant inflammation of my SI joints. I receive shots in my hips every few months, sometimes monthly. I do the exercises given to me by my DO, however, I have only short term relief from the shots. I apply ice. I still have the bursitis and it won't go away. I never had any hip injuries prior or since to cause bursitis. Does anyone else have recurrent bursitis with their Fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn I've been trying to find information on Ultram. Does anyone know anything about the drup Ultram? I am suffering from servere lower back pain caused by multiple colasped and bulging disks. I have had four epedural injections in the past year still without relief. I've been taking 30 Vicodin HPs a week for a year now, but I am still suffering and I am finding it difficult to concentrate after taking Vicodin. I want to stop taking Vicodin before I become more dependant on it than I already am.
Avatar n tn I started taking percocet nine years ago, given to me by an eye doctor for glaucoma, secondary to cataract surgery. I was 36 years old. Stopped the percocet. Withdrawal symptoms were diagnosed as fibromyalgia. Have been on klonopin & ultram since then. Drs vistis too numerous to mention. No dr.came up that my fatigue and pain were due to the meds. Pain due to the 4 hrs. after klonopin wore off. Had decided to try an antidepressant for my "symptoms.
Avatar f tn I went thru 48 months of treatment developed fibromyalgia and worsened joint and bone pain. I have lost a lot of dexterity in my hands and fingers don't have a lot of feeling at the tips, but that's from the treatment. Pre-treatment I had a lot of winter arthritis-like pain in my joints and hands. Don't know if this helps, but I'm new to this forum. Wish I'd seen it when I was on treatment.
Avatar m tn -Aches and pains basically on entire body; worst in the neck, shoulders, back, arms, thighs, and lower legs -Some pain on almost all joints, feels more when I move my joints. -My joints feel they are missing some lubrication, they make cracking sounds when I move them -Burning sensation on feet when I walk and hands especially during the night.
Avatar n tn I have alreasy gone thru treatment with interfuron for a year no help, now I have cronic fatigue plus all the pain of fibro, and the sides of hep c. Is there anyone out there I can talk to that understands what I am going thru? I can't get my husband to understand just because you can't see it it doesn't mean I don't hurt like hell. My life seems to have been put into a suspended form of torture.
Avatar f tn Were you ever on antidepressants or any medication that would effect dopamine, serotonin or norepinephrine levels, prior to being dx'd with Fibromyalgia? If so, what was your age and approximately how long did you stay on the medication. Thank you for your response to this poll. Have a nice day.
Avatar f tn can someone with some knowledge and experience please tell me what seems to be the best treatments out there when it comes to dealing with fibromyalgia? i am still trying to gather information on which is better lyrica or neurontin, and i am also told they are the same med? any truth to this? any advice on how to deal with flare ups would be just great also, at this point i am up for anything new that may help...
684012 tn?1227994056 I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.
Avatar n tn In 2002, I was diagnosed simultaneously with Epstein Barr and Fibromyalgia. The Epstein Barr seemed to clear up after about 8 months (I felt more energetic). My fibromyalgia is focused in my back, ALL of my back; upper, lower, middle, and both sides. F.Y.I. I also have osteoarthritis and osteopenia(?) and (in case it's relevant) I had whiplash (upper back/neck) in Dec. 1987. Now, my questions are: Do Fibromyalgia patients typically experience 'flare ups'?
Avatar f tn i do understand the not wanting to take any pain medications and that is everyones right not to take them.Have you talked to your doctor about other options, like Lyrica or Ultram?
Avatar f tn I went on the meds for the treatment of fibromyalgia. How do I start? What should I expect? Should I go to detox? Just not sure what to do. I don't have any other addictions or meds to get off of. This is my last challenge.
899635 tn?1241972456 Ive looked up symptoms and it all points to fibro, what kind of testing gets done to find out for sure? What questions should I ask of my doctor to find out? Is there treatment for this condition and if so, what is it?
Avatar n tn Ortho-McNeil (drug co, that makes Ultram) was hitting the othopedists with the old Ultram hard-sell when it first came out. Trying to give them an alternative from prescribing Vicodin, Lortab, Ect. They brought in samples everywhere and like you I didn't think of it much in the begininng and then when i doubled my dose I got that semi-warm cozy hydro feeling! and as they say it was off to the races--Another reason they heavily promoted this drug was the fact it is VERY EXPENSIVE!
580352 tn?1218555987 Does anybody out there know how long it takes for your body to break a tramadol/ultram addiction? How long until the DT's are over????
Avatar n tn I was presribed Ultram for pelvic pain (fibroids and endomitriosis). I have been taking it for a little over 2 months and I am honestly addicted. I have decided to wean myself off. I have been taking 300-400 mils, and yesterday I cut it down to 100 mils.. I took that amount today, and will tommorow, and then go down to 50 for 4 days, and then stop (I only have 11 pills left). Am I doing this right?
Avatar f tn My drug therapy includes cymbalta, ultram, skelexin, percocet, cardizem, and benecar. Has anyone with my symptons been diagnosed similarly? If so, do you ever get long term relief? I try to accept my lot in life, but this is very new and very daunting for me. Sometimes I feel sad. Thank you all in advance for caring.
544292 tn?1268886268 Welcome Tram Warriors! Part 60. Wow. Over the years of recovery and reading about others, seeing others recover the main thing I have learned is that everyone's life is better without being a slave to Tramadol. You might be stuck and scared right now, but you can make the decision to get yourself off the hamster wheel of Tramadol dependency and even addiction. You don't have to live that way. There's lots of people here to help.
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Tramadol Warriors, I know you can do this. People are here to help you. It's going to be ok.
544292 tn?1268886268 You can do this tramadol warriors! You can beat this! You will do this!
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
Avatar n tn I went to Rheumatologist who said I have arthritis bursitis and fibromyalgia she gave me neuronton and ultram both of which help with the pain but not the joint stiffness. I have also developed hard knots on my hand joints and was told that the are calcium deposits.Does anyone else have anything like this after treatment.I did 1 year of peg and riba but never reached undetected..
875863 tn?1271606985 I've been to the Rheumatologist, nothing. A little low on Vitamin D. Doc recommended 800 units a day. Went to the Podiatrist. Had nerve damage in my foot, which was a series of shots until the nerve was deadened. All good, and had toe nails removed. (Big Toe) Ouch!! For about 3 months. Hard for someone that works on thier feet all day. (10 Hours, 4 days) I then went back to the Pod. My feet were again killing me. Nothing. Sent me to a Neurologist. Nothing. Sent me to my family Doc.
Avatar f tn Dr. Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. Seronergative arthritis. Look also for any possible anemia issues (low thyroid function is linked to anemia as well) or haemochromatosis/iron overload, which may cause arthritic symptoms, joint and bone pain. Hope this helps. If you need any details please post again anytime. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn We tried Ultram but it upset my stomach I want to know if you would also believe in treatment with Opiates long term if the condition warranted it? And if so, what treatment would it be for symptoms like mine? Should I seek treatment for Fibro seperate of the nerve damage and back pain? If I am treated with Opiates, will I require stronger doses over time, is this normal?
Avatar f tn I'm off the Procrit and Neupogen as well. I've cut back the Ultram to just 1/2 a pill (25mg) daily. Before, on treatment I was on 50mg twice a day. Anyhow, I've been feeling totally bad since stopping treatment. I can't sleep hardly at all, which makes it worse because I've never been able to take a nap during the day either.
