fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn I went thru 48 months of treatment developed fibromyalgia and worsened joint and bone pain. I have lost a lot of dexterity in my hands and fingers don't have a lot of feeling at the tips, but that's from the treatment. Pre-treatment I had a lot of winter arthritis-like pain in my joints and hands. Don't know if this helps, but I'm new to this forum. Wish I'd seen it when I was on treatment.
Avatar f tn I went on the meds for the treatment of fibromyalgia. How do I start? What should I expect? Should I go to detox? Just not sure what to do. I don't have any other addictions or meds to get off of. This is my last challenge.
209591 tn?1267414714 One article mentioned that you must specify that you do not want the long acting dosage (or time released) and another was regarding the use of Ultram. If you do not have the Ultram (and other pain meds) completely out of your system, prior to taking this drug, you will have serious withdrawal effects. Just wanted to share this with anyone considering using this. It does sound promising for treatment.
684012 tn?1227990456 I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.
Avatar m tn Panic attacks are actually more likely to occur if you abruptly stop taking Ultram. There is a risk of seizures while taking Ultram, however, especially while on the extended release version. If your wife has been on this medication at this dose for 4 years though, I would not expect seizures to start up at this point.

Avatar n tn s a big question and too much for me to answer on here. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago. You may want to check out one of my fav. Fibro sites www.immunesupport.com . They have tons of info on FM as well as chronic fatigue and the like. The site has symptom lists as well as current research, treatments, etc. and may offer you a starting off point.
Avatar f tn Hey there...I had my drs appt today to ask for help getting off of Ultram. Thankfully he did not turn me away. He set me up on a slow weening schedule and since I was worried about my fibromyalgia pain coming back, he put me on Lyrica. I know nothing about this med. Does anyone have any info? The dr. did tell me it was not addictive because that was the first thing I asked him!!!
475300 tn?1312423126 I just found out that ultram combined with anti D's can cause all sorts of problems, seizures being one of them. Fibromyalgia diagnosis this week and my doc gave me a script for 100 with a refill. Pharmacy would not fill it because I am on zoloft. A google search confirms this. So the doc ended up calling in darvocet which has acetaminaphin in which I would rather not take . I did try to get the pharm to fill the ultram as I have a dog that takes it.
Avatar f tn I currently take Savella (an antidepressant specifically for fibromyalgia) and Vicodin 7.5/750 3x daily for my fibromyalgia pain. As bamabred said, opioids can be very addictive - I did not begin taking opioids for my body pain until about 4 years ago. Before that I had some for migraines, but only took them sparingly. I used OTC pain killers, Ultram, Vioxx (until it was outlawed), etc... When my back pain became unmanageable, my physician sent me to a pain management clinic.
Avatar m tn I am a 49 yr old white male, good job, me and my girlfriend have a 8yr old daughter together I like playing guitar, drawing, Oil painting. My problem is this Ultram, I have never ever done drugs in my life up until i got hooked on this. My girlfriend was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and one of her meds was some ultram. I had a bad headache one day i ask her for one.
Avatar n tn Hi I have alot of pain post treatment 1.5 year and I personally believe it is from the treatment itself. I went to Rheumatologist who said I have arthritis bursitis and fibromyalgia she gave me neuronton and ultram both of which help with the pain but not the joint stiffness. I have also developed hard knots on my hand joints and was told that the are calcium deposits.Does anyone else have anything like this after treatment.I did 1 year of peg and riba but never reached undetected..
Avatar m tn -Aches and pains basically on entire body; worst in the neck, shoulders, back, arms, thighs, and lower legs -Some pain on almost all joints, feels more when I move my joints. -My joints feel they are missing some lubrication, they make cracking sounds when I move them -Burning sensation on feet when I walk and hands especially during the night.
Avatar m tn I had only once tested my hbsag quantity since my diagnosis two years ago. The test was done a few weeks ago and came out about 17000iu/ml. In other words quite high, that should warrant treatment immediately, in my opinion, though my dumb doctors won't put me on treatment yet. But I'm going to fight them and insist that I need antiviral treatment.
Avatar f tn Sorry to here you're having a bad time with Ultram. I was taking Ultram after my ankle surgery, it didn't seem to help much with the pain. I tried taking it again for the fibro pain and it gave me a terrible neck and headache. Sorry to here you had such a bad reaction to the ultram. Like you I've also tried darvoset to no avail. I'm going to try amytriptyln, hopefully it will work. What does you MD suggest you do for the pain? Deedee....
1225178 tn?1318980604 My body aches have intensified in severity and and frequency in the past few weeks and since Tylenol doesn't work for me, I was taking Ibuprofen 2 to 3 times a day and it started getting to the point where my stomach felt kind of raw when I'd take it. I told my doctor about this and he told me that he didn't want me taking Ibuprofen more than once a day. He wrote me a prescription for Ultram which says it is for moderately severe pain.
Avatar f tn Has any tried ultram or tramadol? I read somewhere that they help the pain and they give you more energy. That sounds great if they wk.
Avatar f tn I've been addicted to Ultram for about 5 years. It was given to me for pain control w/ Fibromyalgia. It changed my life. I was able to get up in the morning without pain and go through my whole day and not hurt or feel like a lead weight was on my shoulders. It was literally a miracle. I just couldn't believe that I was pain free. But what I liked even more was the feeling that Ultram gave me. Carefree, happy, sense of well being, you know the rest. Well that was 5 years ago.
1413564 tn?1281822991 If you have any prescriptions, they told me I could take my ultram (I have Fibromyalgia) with the benadryl and nausea med (Have it for side effects of FIbromyalgia) and it works like a charm. Weirdest thing too, because I have had migraines for 15 years and this worked pretty fast and didn't make me totally out of it. It was kinda cool.
Avatar f tn My doc agreed and for the first 4 days I was to switch a dose of ultram for one does of vicodin. Then the next 4 days I was to switch two doses of ultram for two doses of vicodin, etc. Let me tell you....I AM MISERABLE!!!! My entire body hurts. And I mean hurts! I have no energy...I guess because the pain is just so overwhelming. When I tell my husband (who is military and has that military mentality - LOL!) that the ultram isn't working his comment is that I just give up too fast.
Avatar f tn While I was undiagnosed, I was on Neurontin for a couple of months and then tried Lyrica. I do think Lyrica relieved more pain, but it did cause me more side effects and in the end, I was not happy with the balance of relief vs. complications. Lyrica made me feel more dizzy and confused. For example, I would take my dose, and within minutes I wouldn't remember if I had taken it yet or not. That made me uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn I have difficulty with slow digestion due to medication (lyrica and ultram). My Gasterentologist prescribed Reglan 10mg Tid and Miralax Bid as needed. I don't seem to have strong enough peristalsis to create elemination. I must strain and push a lot to eliminate what I can but it is thin and ribbon like. Please help with some help or ideas other than give up your fibromyalgia meds. I swear I wouldn't want to go back to that kind of pain again! Can you help?
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and I have been taking ultram for it ... well I have been taking it so long I got addicted anyways I ran out and cant get it filled for a few days yet and I'm in the process of moving.. Ugh.. having WD symptoms while packing and moving boxes is a nightmare!
