Avatar f tn Hello everybody , im fighting fibromyalgia, im not completly cured ,but I fell MUCH MUCH better, and the best part im not taking any kind of medicines.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am 25 years old and it is almost crippling for me. Right now I am on Ultram and zoloft. My dr wants me to go see a rheumatologist. I am so upset about the diagnosis because I am so young. I have little kids that I want to chase around at the park and play with but it is a struggle just to get out of bed.
Avatar n tn What types of things have you tried? We basically follow a GFCF diet at home due to fibromyalgia and ASDs in our family. We got a mill to make our own rice flour. We also use masa. Milk wise, we use rice milk and soy milk. We have come up with recipes for cookies, pancakes, spaghetti sauce, chili, banana bread, etc. We also do tacos with corn tortillas and sometimes have 'beanie tacos' (that my kids really like) where we put refried beans, onions, and sauce on the corn tortillas.
Avatar f tn Sounds like Fibromyalgia to me. There is few research into FM and diets, but some think that FM might be caused by leaky gut, or it is associated with it. I also have a friend in the US with FM. She told me that since I made her switch to the special carbohydrate diet a few months ago, her flares are not as often, and not as severe anymore. If you are up to it, google it, start with the intro diet (this is important), and then try to stay on the diet for 30 days.
1353650 tn?1429466974 I have just been put on doxycyline as a trial for Fibromyalgia cause my doctor doesn't believe that I could have lyme. My test came back as negative and that's good enough for him, however it's not good enough for me, just like the fungal one. I've spent the last almost 2 years trying to get some help with my symptoms and found that I had a fibroid tumor growth on my left ovary and just over 3 weeks ago had it and all my female parts removed.

527589 tn?1301681778 Congrats to silkcut. Nice poems. Thanks for the recipes, stories and advice. The latest update to my never-ending saga; positive ANA (and B12 a little on the low side) I know many of you have mentioned that here and there. I just don't have the umph (can barely keep my head up since new med [tegretol] for possible trigeminal neuralgia) to go look for all the pertinent threads so if you could do me a favor and tell me here what that means and what might be next I sure would appreciate it.
15254172 tn?1439480825 I couldn't take the pain. I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis. I went a month before I went back. I want to quit this time. Tomorrow I will be in full withdrawal. I'm calling my doctor to say I don't need her anymore. I'm doing this cold turkey again so I know what to expect. My question is to the people that made it. How long did your pain last and how long did it take to be normal?

551343 tn?1506834118 com/p/articles/mi_m0850/is_n3_v8/ai_9369099/ This is a brilliant piece by Jodi Bassett about MS V FIBROMYALGIA. It makes very interesting reading and I would recommend you follow through on some of the links especially about CFS. Here is a website about functional or dissociative neurological symptoms. Many of us are diagnosed with this: http://www.neurosymptoms.
4939681 tn?1361302899 There are a couple other drugs you could try first before going to the higher potency drugs that may not make you feel so out of it. The first drug is actually used for fibromyalgia patients a lot and it is called Savella. It is not really a "pain medicine" per se but works more like a neurological blocker so it decreases pain overall but you take it daily at a set dose, at a regular time. It's not like taking a Tylenol when you have a headache.
Avatar n tn I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but it has gotten much better on thyroid meds. Wouldn't hurt to talk to an endo just in case.
Avatar n tn stuff in the house. Focus on vegetables, lean meats, and low calorie recipes. Make this your new mission. You really CAN do it. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Right arm sometimes feels like it is going to fall off body, especially with migraines or fibromyalgia-like painful periods. Bilateral carpal tunnel. Normal SSEPs otherwise. Pain usually right temple area. Sometimes periodically jabbing behind the eye, initially. Not often now. Headaches switch sides or become bilateral now. Often facial pain, too, with intractable migraines. Last one felt past jaw joint and in teeth. Usually more mastoid and not TMJ like.
Avatar f tn Do you have Fibromyalgia and still manage to hold a job? Feel free to leave comments about what your job is and how you cope.
Avatar f tn I am tired all the time, have fibromyalgia and extreme allergies to perfume, cologne, smoke and chemicals to name a few. I don't eat a lot of food but I don't eat very healthy at times either. I usually eat breakfast from 2 to 4 hours after I get up and get to sleep from 2:00 to 5:00 am. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can stop the sweet/carbohydrate cravings so I can lose weight? I am 65 yrs old, 5 ft 1 in. and 240 lbs. Please serious suggestions only!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia over a year ago, but I just found out I have a rare parasite infection. I had a special comprehensive stool test ordered by my naturopathic practitioner. This was NOT a routine stool test ordered by a doctor which often misses many kinds of parasite infections. Parasite infections can mimic fibro and cause chronic fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems, irritable bowel, skin rashes and itching, joint aches, muscle aches, food sensitives, etc.
Avatar m tn I have already gotten rid of everything toxic in the house and only use those homemade recipes for non-toxic cleaning. And, I've changed over to non-toxic cosmetics and personal care products.
Avatar n tn Hi I am a 65yr female diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago. My Dr. will only give me Tramacet for pain and 'suggests' that I smoke pot to help the hellish pain. Well...the Tramacet doesn't even touch the pain & I really do NOT think that a person with COPD should be smoking pot!! I have found a kind of vaporizer on the net to use for the pot..but it's terrible expensive for a senior on a fixed income. My days are filled with wretched pain and many many naps...

1550026 tn?1299339682 Hi Jennifer, I have Hashimoto's but have also gotten into Insulin Resisitance and Metabolic syndrome. I am an RN so I tried the traditional medical path first. After 3 Endocrinologists, I finally found a "functional medicine" doc. She is an M.D. but medical and surgical solutions are not her first choice for treatment. I did the micronutrient testing and discovered extremely low Bioitin levels which accounted for massive hair loss.
612876 tn?1355518095 I have a disease called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a type of dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system, which can go hand-in-hand with fibromyalgia symptoms; some docs diagnose fibro on top of it, some consider the pain part of the disease. Either way, the tactile allodynia (a kind of skin pain where things that shouldn't be painful are perceived as painful) has been getting progressively worse over the past couple of years to the point of being intolerable sometimes.
1171003 tn?1267075703 If slowing down is not an option and I am sure at your age it is not, I have a 20 year old junior in college who presents with fibromyalgia symptoms, he has been since he was in junior high. He has changed how he eats, he drinks a ton of water, he takes supplements and he has eliminated or limits sugars. It's helps him so much. It has changed his pain, he still has pain but nothing like before and he is not on any pain meds and says he will never go there.
325405 tn?1262293778 I have a very bad back and fibromyalgia. My dr stresses yoga and walking. Do to my fibro activity has been limited, however it is my intent to go back to yoga. I also have a Susan Sansone walking DVD that is excellent. I also have pre-diabetes. My dr put me on metformin at the end of December and I have already lost 15 lbs. My dr. is thrilled. I do need to start exercising or my weight will be at a stand still. I do know that my dr is very much for the South Beach diet.
