1415174 tn?1453246703 Mkh9, YES, I see a pain Physiatrist here in the Kansas City area and he is just wonderful. I do not think he/she will intentionally make your pain worse. As a matter of fact, my physiatrist has just been great and keeps my pain under control. I've done injections and also have been prescribed pain medication (fentanyl and oxycodone) and he has done physical therapy with me, and tried just about everything to help me.
Avatar f tn Then I am scheduled to see a orthosurgeon, and the neurosurgeon who did my surgery, next month to get there opinion on the results of my next mri.I live in the Kansas city area. I am wondering is there anyone out there that has had OPLL and has had surgery for it? If so, did they continue to have OPLL growth and repeated problems with it? I am also wanting to find a neurosurgeon that is experienced in operating on OPLL. Anyone out there that has the OPLL.
Avatar f tn You can also email to ---- contact [at] ILADS [dot] com ---- and tell them generally where you are located ('near Kansas City') and how far you can travel ('up to 100 miles'). ILADS is the main voluntary group for Lyme specialist MDs, and the organization is well known. They won't ask you for any information about yourself. Sorry about your doc not 'believing' in Lyme. There is a lot of that out there in the medical community.

Avatar n tn See I'm in a big city, actually in suburbia outside of a big city and I think its funny how I can read your posts with your accent that I think you might have, you know? its just funny. Anyway, My leg is a little restless at work, but not really an issue, what is an issue is my drive to work hard and in sales unfortunately its all productivity, not activity, but productivity........ anyway, I have the L-carnatine what else do I need to buy before I start the recipe?
Avatar m tn Except for the tinnitus my symptoms are exact and so is my search for a diagnosis. My exact symptoms started about the same time. I live outside of New York city and have been to many top Dr's. I have even traveled to Johns Hopkins to see a top ENT. I have also have stumped all the DR's to the point where they have givin up. I have spent hours upon hours researching myself and could not find a single case like mine. UNTIL NOW.
Avatar f tn I have just been diagnosed with Hep C and am being referred to a gastrologist to start treatment. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Will I be able to work thru this? I also have Fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, & 2 herneated discs. I am a single mom with no family nearby so I am pretty scared. Any advice?
Avatar n tn My doctor is in Kansas City. Where are you located? I have friends who see doctors in other states that seem good as well.
Avatar f tn I'm in Kansas City, so I'm out of luck, or I would take you up on that for sure. Have you tried taking a hot shower yet? It will help relax your muscles and give you a break. You might even get a little nap in afterwards.
Avatar f tn You can also simply google/search for LLMD Kansas City or wherever you are or can get to, and see what you find on message boards. If you want to let us know what geographic area you live in, we might have personal experience with LLMDs there that could help you. Sorry to be a downer, but I really really would find a doc who thinks bigger thoughts. Let us know how we can help.
Avatar f tn I've had to go out of state to see a Neurologist because the first one I saw here in my city did not run anything but a nerve test on one leg and then diagnosed me as stressed out. He wouldn't even listen to my sypmtoms but could clearly see that I was incapable of walking normally. Anyway, I went for a second opinion. The 2nd Neurologist was very compassionate and said he would get to the bottom of my problem.

Avatar n tn I first experienced this in the Indian Wells Valley, California in the early nineties and roughly associated it with the Angeles Crest forest burning. I have since experienced it a lot in the Kansas City area. I am reasonably sure that it is a sub micron fiber. I think it may be made by very small spiders. I had not experienced anything like this prior to the early nineties and moving to the Mojave Desert. The fibers cause a pricking feeling in the nose when inhaled and protracted sneezing.
Avatar n tn Well it's tax day, if I were still drinking I would be off to drown my sorrows, instead we are going to drive down to Kansas City today, eat some good barbeque, shop, listen to some live music. I'm stopping by the post office on my way out of town, I always make them wait til the very last friggin day. I'd actually wait til midnight too except I plan to still be out having fun by then hope. Blessings to you.
Avatar m tn I have found 3 LLMDs in the Kansas City area (3 hours from me), so I guess I will call them and try to make an appt, but what if they are super full and won't take me for a long time? Do I try to convince my dr. to put me on higher doses of antibiotics and for a longer time? What if after this cycle I am feeling better? Do I believe that I am better?
Avatar n tn I think it might be helpful to list information like a detective would consider. I am a health 36 year old male I live in Southern California I live in a city my daily routine has not changed food wise, I have only bought some fruit. Everything else has been purchased a week prior to getting my symptoms. I find it interesting at the dates people have made there posts.
Avatar n tn my husband is worried that i will become disabled - i told him i was going to fight this, we are 46 and have grandbabies and i really want to be a part of their lives - we do have great medical facilities here in Kansas City, MO - there are a lot to choose from. I did reasearch the neurosurgeons and found one group that comes highly recommended. i don't have the problem with scar tissues - at least i don't think i do - keep in touch and i'll let you know how things are going.
Avatar n tn i met a wonderful women who is now my wife, wound up in a good city to live and work in, had a great job.....and then an injury from 1970 came back to almost wreck my life. since spring of 2000 i've had two cervical level spine surgerys. in the winter of 2001 my surgeon told me "one of the fussion failed, it has to be redone. i'm taking you off all pain killers and you have to quit smoking for 60 days."....well i went to a pawn shop, bought a cheap 20 gage shotgun and a box of shells.
Avatar n tn I also have neck and upper back pain after C5-6 fusion. An Oropod did my surgery. I eventually went to a Neuro in Rapid City, SD but it appears that there is not a problem. I have had another MRI. No problem. My new Neuro is doing an Intrathecal CT on Jan 3, 2007. My guess is that he will not see anything.
534800 tn?1217170959 Sorry to lag in my posts rash-gang, but I have been traveling so much with work I honestly didn't know which city I was in when I changed planes last week!
Avatar m tn you might want to look into Fibromyalgia......based on you mentioning you have other pain symptoms, back & also your ocd etc,................we have an over acute sense of pain/touch,....... everything really,.....more recent research points at CNS involvement.. I often feel "the crawlies"....its not "in my head", but then its not insects either, just my central nervous system playing tricks on me.............
