Fibromyalgia is fake

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia is fake

Avatar f tn thank you so much for article for only shows me that once again so many doctors do not believe fibromyalgia as a disease even though science proves it is. But then after years of not getting (most of time) the medical help I need, this only proves one of my major reasons for not getting the kind of help I need.
Avatar f tn Do not make the mistake of thinking gluten is a sugar, this is not true !!! Gluten is; Oats, Wheat, Barley and Rye. Anything made of flour or dough, pizza, bread, biscuits. Found in all cereal, gravy etc. Basically everything has gluten in it if its packaged. All fruit and veg fresh or frozen are gluten free. Cadbury choc, most is gluten free, unless it has a biscuit base in it. Cheese and yoghurt, eggs, gluten free. Mcdonalds, hash browns and beef patties are gluten free. Not the bun.
Avatar n tn I am up to taking 20 Norco a day for my fibromyalgia. Part of this is pain, but part is the agony and misery of feeling the worst mental fatigue and depression, anxiety, and panic ever. Since diagnosed with fibro, my whole personality has changed-can't enjoy anything or stuff I used to; don't feel happy; can't have fun or happiness with my son; don't want to go anywhere or do anything----AND THIS IS WHETHER I TAKE THE NORCO OR NOT!
Avatar m tn Meds that target nerve pain are usually opiates, which MANY docs will not prescribe because they worry about addiction. Thanks to all those people that fake their pain and all they want is the opiates. Gave those that NEED those meds a raw deal. You are officially a FIBROMITE! :) Welcome to the club! You are not alone and send me a message whenever you want! Take care of you! Get some laughter into your life!
Avatar n tn I have Crohn's Disease and Fibromyalgia. I am always in pain. I'm not sure the level you would say it is, all I know is when it's not under control with the pain meds, I will pass out from it. My hubby has picked me off the floor many times in the past till we finally got me on a system of meds to keep it under control. I hope you never have to be in a position again where you have to take Mortrin or Advil type drugs.
865902 tn?1239312521 I know no doctors who do. It is fine to say “why do I need this medicine?” or “Is this medication really necessary?” but to ask “is it safe?” or “doesn’t this destroy the liver?” is kind of insulting. 7. I guarantee that any plan like this one will cause significant weight loss…in your wallet. Sorry. Had to rant about this. People believe many dumb things and will until the world’s end.
2107676 tn?1388977459 She was so nice and also has fibromyalgia so she was very understanding. She is trying to work something out so they can stop charging me enormous interest on my credit card. I have 2 days to decide and my head is spinning. I phoned Pfizer Canada and they don't offer any help with paying for Lyrica so struck out there. Wish I had some good news. Oh wait, I do. I am still clean and not going to use today. Give me strength to get in the shower and walk downtown.
Avatar n tn Even if you fake a smile it works! You usually only smile when you're happy, so smiling is directly connected to your brain releasing some "feel good chemicals". hold the smile (or a pen between your teeth) for a few minutes and notice the difference!!! Other, more long term benefits can come from exercising, eating right and getting enough sleep. It's not a coincidence the quarter I took Yoga was the most stress-free one I've had so far. Good luck!
Avatar n tn try natren brand 'megadophilus' which is acidophilus plus vitamin c. you need to keep it refrigerated bc it is live culture acidophilus. they say dosage is 1/2 tsp, but i suggest you take 1 full tsp about 10 x a day (before and after each meal and also in between) should notice a difference in 3-4 days. keep taking for several weeks until you can reduce dosage. also eliminate all sugar from your diet. also get a TRH test for thyroid.
Avatar f tn there is a split in the medical community over Lyme disease. The Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) takes the position that Lyme is a hard disease to get and an easy one to cure with a couple of weeks of antibiotics; IDSA has held this position for quite a long time.
Avatar n tn I hope the forum is okay now but some how I think there is still trouble, I need this forum and it is the only place I have ever found that I can be honest and okay no matter where I'm at. I want to keep going and open up I have so much to say and want to share. My time to quit is approaching and this forum is going to be the key.
Avatar f tn At first you are going to be sick because your detoxing and then your pelvic pain is going to seem way worse and you are going to swear you need those pills. Suck it is fake...Your brain trying to get you to take those pills again. Stay off the pills for at least a month and then reasses your pain. Talk to your dr about other ways to help....nsaids....heat....TENS unit....BC pills....etc etc. Being in pelvic pain ***** me I know....but you cant go on taking all those pills.
1139187 tn?1355710247 Its weird because a lot of us have the same symptoms yet ive had 2 doctors (both endos) tell me that these are not related to our disease. I feel better for a while and think "wow the medicine is starting to work". next thing you know im shaky and very anxious. Have a weird slight headache, fatigued, and hard to focus. I dont want anyone to know how bad I feel at work because I fear im going to lose my job if all this keeps up, so I try as hard as I can to get through the bout.
Avatar n tn Please do not accept a diagnoses of "fibromyalgia", there is no such disease. This is a blanket term used by doctors to pacify mainly women patients. Fibromyalgia is usually accompanying some form of arthritis. I suffered from symptoms such as many of the ones listed above, and have lived through the era of valium being prescribed to primarily women for these same they call it fibromyalgia, and prescribe antidepressants....
1522259 tn?1291214939 My pain management doctor is skeptical about Fibromyalgia being real or fake, and he has asked me to change my diet a bit, start stretching and exercising, quit smoking, eliminate things like sugar, caffeine, etc., and eat and sleep on a regular schedule. If I cn prove that I'm seriously trying to change bad lifestyle choices, he will believe that I'm truly in chronic pain and that I do indeed have Fibromyalgia. I am willing to do whatever he asks to benefit my life.
Avatar f tn Looking for opinions essentially. Is the talk about Lyme Disease in the alternative medicine sphere hype, or is there some validity to it? He told me that getting tested for it won't necessarily rule out the possibility of Lyme because the test yields a lot of false negatives and positives.
529392 tn?1212983895 Those who got true acupuncture had notably bigger improvements in fibromyalgia symptoms than those who got fake acupuncture, write the researchers. (WEBMED) So,try it,good luck!
Avatar n tn Someone said that I may have Fibromyalgia. I've been to a doctor in the past, he kind of blew me off-just prescribed me medicine. I'm able to work, so I don't think that is the problem. Any suggestions!!
Avatar m tn What other medication is out there? It is so hard to get up in the moring because of the pain I have to crawl to the shower to have the warm water loosen me so I can do my fibro stretches in order to function. I have read some of the people who take narcs for the pain. Are you aware that narcs can make it worse? There have to be some other medication out there to help with fibro without the side effects of narcs.
Avatar n tn Please don't believe anyone who claims that it is non-addictive and please don't allow yourself to start using it, thinking it will be an easy kick down the road. It is not easy. It is painful, it is lonely, and it is terribly difficult. That is not to say that if you are now on it, you won't be able to quit. Many have done it (check out emily post's journal), it's just a b*****. Sweating, shaking, aching, insomnia, but all worth it. How long does it take? I don't know.
Avatar m tn Hello zoe00, It's always nice to be seen by someone who knows what it's like to be in pain. My Rheumatologist has Rheumatoid Arthritis as well, so she knows what it's like to be in pain, so she treats me better than any other doctor I've seen. I have FM and OA. Unfortunately, because I don't have it as bad as her (meaning the RA), I sometimes think she minimizes my pain just a little.
Avatar n tn Some are even treating her like she is drug seeking, and all these pain attacks are fake. Could it possibly be that this is all just in her head and none of this pain is real? I care alot about her, but I dont know how to approach her about this. I think that maybe she would totally turn away from me and thats the last thing I want. If this is all in her head, I know she needs help, but I dont know how to approach this. Can anybody help?
Avatar m tn I agree with these posts its your brain trying to trick you into using but it will go away addiction is a serious sickness and trys to get you to use do to your dopamines trying to fight off the fake dopamines that drugs create a dopamine is what makes you feel pleasure drugs make false dopamines that are bigger and more pleasurable its a lot to explain but look up drug addiction dopamines and it will fill you in better than I can good luck
1429415 tn?1308271820 So all I can do now is hope and pray it works. People actually fake having this crap, who in their right mind would do that? How awful. If you have anymore helpful hints please share.
Avatar f tn I went to the OBGYN today and he told me that Fibromyalgia is a B.S. diagnosis and that i am just going to have to deal with the pain and its going to get worse not better. Those were his exact words. While I have been waiting to go to the doc i went to my family doctor and told him i would like to lower my dosage on the hydrocodone that i take and i have done A LOT of research. Everything that i have read states that it is ok *not ideal* but ok to take the medication while pregnant.
Avatar m tn Just sentences running into each other about any topic. She is addicted to pain killers. I never knew this. She is always in constant pain from her fibromyalgia and other pains she has from old age. Yesterday she said she ran out of pain pills and took Gabapentin that she got from someone in the family. She also smoked some legal synthetic marijuana ( natural herbs and stuff ) that they sell at the mall. It seems she had some wild adverse affect that really has her mind messed up.
Avatar f tn I just think the doctor could have mentioned which blood tests he ordered. People don't often fake fibromyalgia and anxiety to get a hold of 1 1/2 mg of klonopin a day. And that 600 mg of neurontin is less than people take for shingles. Celexa isn't any fun either. I should be asking for a morphine drip if I'm gonna go through full drug screens periodically.
Avatar f tn You could try bringing up fibromyalgia instead of CFS (they are pretty similar, with the main symptoms being pain and fatigue, but CFS is EXTREME fatigue, when Fibro is more based off the pain you feel) I find that doctors don't get freaked out by Fibro like they do when a patient says something about CFS. Also, it's best to NOT mention the internet during an appointment.
701334 tn?1262857103 So what do you do when all the sudden you feel like you have been hit by a train, NO energy, muscle pain all over, nerve pain, I mean just a year ago I felt great, it's like I woke up with this and I'm only 46 yrs old, but something is definitely wrong and I truly bellieve it is my thyroid, it is common over 40 yrs old to have some thyroid issues, but my thyroid is normal according to doctors, I do have arthritis in many joints, but that's because i was so active and hard on my body as far as ex
5764859 tn?1400885356 Luckily I had my doctor on board my psychiatrist and my counselor all in agreement I suffer from schizoaffective disorder, ocd, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety with panic attacks, and dissociative identity disorder not including my physical ailments of chronic migraines and fibromyalgia when the judge based their decision it was all on my mental health hope this helps
