fibromyalgia

415098 tn?1214856836 Your doctor can identify if you have problems in enough of these areas to warrant a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, especially since you've already had the CT's, etc. Google the words "Fibromyalgia and tender points" and you should find a few web sites that talk about this in more detail. God Bless!
Avatar f tn what is fibromyalgia? i am curious. My mother n law suffers from it and i am just curious what it is.
1168938 tn?1327154232 s over the last 4 years but they concentrated on my myoclonic jerks, when I mentioned all pains etc they just said your muscles are bound to hurt because of the jerking, my jerks are in my torso and spine, that does not explain my muscle and joint pains in my arms, wrists and hands. I think because the myoclonus is visible they concentrate on that and can't see passed it.
Avatar f tn Hi, The heavy head feeling that you experience could be related to issues in the cervical spine like disc herniation, disc prolapse or cervical spondyitis. I would suggest you to get a cervical spine exam done. Inner ear diseases are usually characterized by vertigo, dizziness and tinnitus. It will be worthwhile to get an ear exam done, since ear problems can cause heaviness in the head kind of feeling.
Avatar f tn An MRI showed I had several herniated discs and impinged nerves in my C spine, and thoracic spine. I am now getting severe stabbing pinching pains in my thoracic spine. It is also very uncomfortable for me to rest my back against anything hard, like a wooden chair back. This causes a lot of pain in the thoracic spine. When I get the pinching pain my fingers also become hot and tingly.
267076 tn?1270674331 Your symptoms sort of point to fibromyalgia, except for the rash, at any rate, a basic doctor visit is in order and they can refer you accordingly.
Avatar f tn The pain in hands and arms could be due to fibromyalgia or some other cause. Any sprain, degenerative arthritis of the spine, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and bursitis can lead to arm pain. It will be best to discuss it with your doctor about the above mentioned possibilities. You may need a clinical examination and tests to rule out the possible cause. Treatment will be specific for the cause. Do keep us posted. Best of luck and kind regards!
Avatar f tn My brain was normal and I do have stenosis and a bulging disc in my c-spine. My neuro said she thought that accounted for my symptoms, my othrosurgeon said there was no nerve pinching and that it could not account for them. I also have various shooting/burning pains and body aches. He wanted my neuro to do nerve conduction tests to check for carpal tunnel and for her to also have a talk with me about a "condtion that causes aches and pains".
Avatar f tn If this is referring to a herniated disc in your cervical spine, it could be the source of your pain. It depends primarily on how the disc is affecting the spinal nerve roots that supply the various parts of the body including the neck, shoulder, arm etc.
267076 tn?1270674331 I've been having pain in my upper and middle back for over a year. I've had MRI and xrays done and no one can tell me what's wrong. I went to a back Dr at the Mayo Clinic thinking maybe he could tell me something. All he did was look at the results of my MRI and xray from over a year ago and tell me it's Fibromyalgia. I know I have Fibromyalgia but the pain in my back seems to be more in the spine itself. It hurts to lay down and to sit back against a chair.
Avatar f tn Neuro Faramina are stenotic bilaterally. I also have severe ddd in my lower spine and various buldges herniations throughout. I am reading about the thorasic hernations and it is making me nervous. I have bad chest and rib pain (xrays fine) indigestion problems. I experience extreme pain when I sit a certain way. My ears feel like they are going to explode, my back and chest tighten and when I sit another way it stops.
444414 tn?1376576095 As time has progressed, my muscle spasms have continued with strange sensations in the left side of my face (tingling, some numbness), migraines with a burning sensation in the head, stiff neck, blotchy skin, continued numbness in the legs, some loss of balance and increased pain in my back/spine. I took a look at the Mayo notes from the bad hospital xrays and their notes indicated spinal lesions, compression, fractures, forminal stenosis and two disk hernations.
Avatar f tn I have 2 herniated discs, arthritis in my lower spine and fibromyalgia. I hate how the morphine makes me feel and the fact that addicted to them. I tried to go cold turkey but I work full time and don't have the time off required to do that. I told my dr that I wanted off them and just stay in lyrica for the fibro. She said taper method was the best way so she prescribed me 15mg 3 times per day for 2 weeks then twice per day for 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn They doctors say I have fibromyalgia. I started falling in November so they did an MRI of my brain and spine to check for MS. They found the syrinx but say its nothing. I would love to find someone to talk to with similar problems and I would love to fins a doctor with knowledge. Thanks so much for reading my post.
8496079 tn?1398412516 I was put on Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) yesterday by my doctor for my Fibromyalgia Condition in addition to the Norco 7.5/325 I can take up to 4 pills day as needed for the massive pain I'm in.
Avatar f tn Non-invasive spinal care is essential for patients with fibromyalgia in order to keep the spine and muscles from losing too much movement since fibromyalgia causes muscles to tighten up and lose some of their natural pliability which tightens the muscles further. This is a vicious cycle and will cause increased pain, increased muscle tightness, loss of movement, and development if more trigger points.
Avatar n tn These are not the same as tender points that are related to fibromyalgia. These trigger points can be extremely painful and can form in almost any muscle. The chronic form is called Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) Many FMS patients have both. Do you suspect your physical activity may have something to do with your back pain?
Avatar m tn Dear Doc, For the past 3 weeks, I have been experiencing deep, aching tightness in my mid-lower back, very slightly to the left of my spine. I cannot pinpoint the exact spot; it feels more like a small area. This sensation comes on every morning between 4-5am and is irritating enough to wake me up from my sleep, and persists till I wake up. Thereafter, the sensation disappears the whole day. I can resume normal activities without any pain but I am suffering from lack of quality sleep.
Avatar f tn Oh, be sure you ask the neurologist to look for areas of demyelination in your spine and/or brain MRIs in case your symptoms are being caused by something like multiple sclerosis. This seems less likely, but still a valid consideration with your symptoms. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn t think the medication causes spine pain, but perhaps it is causing something else that is triggering the spine pain? It's possible that the pain is indeed from fibromyalgia or the accident... it's just being triggered by something the medicine is doing. Perhaps when the effect kicks in, I mean, it *is* blocking a nerve receptor, perhaps that is triggering the thing that triggers the spine pain... I think a neurologist may be more able to pin the problem there.
1073473 tn?1257840649 I have numbness in my left foot due to nerve dysfunction in my spine. My case is somewhat severe in that I have some other co-occurring conditions along with my Fibromyalgia. As far as trying to alleviate symptoms- make sure you have a good mattress to sleep on at night and a good pillow. Don't sleep on more than one pillow and don't bunched it up. I purchased one of those a tempurpedic mattresses- It's wonderful! They also have tempurpedic pillows too!
