Fibromyalgia checklist

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia checklist

Avatar f tn I've read many books and articles on many websites and after seeing an osteopathe who told me I may have a fibromyalgia, I'm sure I must be suffering from FM. Nevertheless, I saw my GP who sent me to have a blood test to know if I had an inflammation and the test was negative. I will see him again. Will i have to bring my own checklist symptoms; exagerate my pain ? I don't wanna have another blood test cos I really need medication.

967168 tn?1477588089 // I've heard of CFS but never really FM and am shocked to find I have ALOT of the symptoms. This all started in Nov 1997 when I was almost 30, when I developed Group Beta Streptococcus which turned into blood sepsis. I developed hypothyroidism in 1998, and was treated for a year but then my lvls were fine (or so I thought).
Avatar f tn Tender points have been tossed out the window and they have been replaced with a symptom checklist. Please check the fibromyalgia network website for more details. Fibromyalgia does not fall within the scope of neurology-even if there may be some neurological symptoms present in some patients- so a rheumatologist would be the right specialist to see to rule out Fibromyalgia.
915277 tn?1252576713 He didn't laugh at me, just tried to explain away my symptoms and my checklist...when I mentioned Sjogren's, he said "that is very rare." I said, "but, not nonexistent." I immediately thought of all the people on MH that have been diagnosed with it, he did offer me fibromyalgia...guess that one is not so rare!?!? The visit was not a total loss, he had the nurse draw blood for a freeT3 & T4...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn Scroll down to pages 9-10 for symptom checklist. Your symptoms sound like fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue, both of which can be due to Lyme Disease. FMS and CFIDS are not diseases, but a collection of symptoms. Restless leg syndrome can be due to Lyme. I was diagnosed for 15 years with fibromyalgia, before I finally figured out that it was Lyme. I had many problems with fatigue when I was in nursing.
Avatar n tn There is hope for you I finally demanded something be done and low and behold a rheumatologist diagnosed me with lupus with a lap over of fibromyalgia. I happened to be a the drs. when I had a flare up. Demand to be seen when your pain is the worst you will be amazed what the drs. can find out. I knew I had fibromyalgia back in 2000, but I also knew that it wasn't all just fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn Have you been checked for autoimmune disease/disorders? Here is a checklist that may narrow some down. Best wishes, I hope you get the help you need soon.
Avatar f tn Well, it can be Lyme’s disease as often the tests are inconclusive. Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis (ruled out in your case), lupus, or other autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor to exclude other possibilities. One other possibility that should be looked into is post partum depression if all other possibilities are excluded.
2150194 tn?1336454410 Everything from spinal problems to something like Fibromyalgia. What types of testing has your dr done? I know a lot about back issues but not the rest but I am sure there is someone on here that can point you in that direction. The reason I said spinal problems is where your pain is it is possible to have several disc problems. There is a chart on my profile that may be helpful to you it is the first pic.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but am not sure if this is the true situation or not. I am 25 years old and want my life back! I paid to have a Lyme testing with Igenex in California, not cheap!

471161 tn?1317194550 I then started on Prednisone and was told I had Fibromyalgia and maybe a Connective Tissue Disorder. I was so dizzy I couldn't even walk across the room that I would walk crooked and run into something. I slowly took myself off the prednisone and the dizziness got better. I still get dizzy but they are dizzy spells, some are pretty bad but it's not constant dizziness at least.
209384 tn?1231171906 I've been updating my meds list and working again on my symptoms checklist. Also making list of problems on my own. Am seriously hoping for hysterectomy at the very least. Am getting ready to start another of these stupid periods where I can't leave the house for a week solid! So tired of it all. Am really ready to get on with this, but now am really nervous. Think AF's impending visit is not helping any. Hormones making me nuts! Am very weepy today. Tomorrow should be f-u-n.
1392168 tn?1280078008 You could have fibromyalgia, ask for an epstein barr blood test, this will show if you do. Also, you could very very well have some misplace vertebrae and they can be pressing on some nerves, if this is the case, no drug will help, just chiropractic treaments. From your description, I would say this is the case.
Avatar n tn However... apparently all CFS patients are failing the Halter Heart Monitor test.
Avatar n tn My previous doctor basically said all of my symptoms were psychosomatic because of a paper she had me fill out, it was a checklist with various symptoms. So from this little checklist she determined that ALL of my symptoms are probably psychosomatic and wanted to put me on depression pills. I don't feel that a checklist is sufficient enough to come to that conclusion at all!
Avatar f tn If a person has CFS or Fibromyalgia would your white blood cell count be HIGH? Especially the Neutrophils? The doctor tested me for strep, mono, bladder infection and much much more? All test came back negative. I know I'm trying to self diagnose but I'm tired of feeling so lazy......
1831849 tn?1383231992 Makes me want to print my checklist like JJ's to show my nbeuro. I often think he doesn't see the forest for the trees.
358304 tn?1409713092 but I'm almost 100% positive this is fibromyalgia... I have EVERY symptom on the checklist. I'm scared ********!!! I can fall asleep at night, but I awaken 3 hours later, every single night, wide awake. Last night was the worst. I sat up, tossed, turned, in pain... watched the sun rise... prayed to God to heal me. Finally fell back asleep for maybe 30 minutes before I had to go to work. All I dreamed about was FIBRO FIBRO FIBRO!!! It's turning into OCD. I dont' know how to fix this...
Avatar n tn Do you know anything aobut the Lyme Urine Antigen Test? I am asking because whenever I review a lyme disease checklist my symptoms match in many respects. I am happy my friend finally has an answer although if it has been Lyme all along I understand that is not so great...any thoughts would be appreciated. When do you give up on Lyme? Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn He said this could be caused by the allergy meds I'm taking especially symbicort. He said I might have fibromyalgia. He had me drink water while he examined my neck. He said I might have to see a neuroligist or a rheumatolgist. I'm not sure why the neuroligist. He was at the computer the whole time I was there and I had a hard time understanding his strong accent.
255722 tn?1452550141 Lyme is definitely related to hormones. Another Lymie told me that Lyme can infect the part of the brain that regulates hormones, causing imbalances. About 3-4 months before my chronic fatigue kicked in, I had an incredibly painful ovarian cyst. I had two more after the fatigue started. And a month before my chronic shortness of breath started, I had the worst PMS ever. My doc called it "severe PMS" and said I was having hormone swings.
Avatar m tn I had one doctor say I have fibromyalgia and undifferentiated connective tissue disease. She felt that it was actually mixed connective tissue disease but wanted to watch me a bit. Unfortunately, I had to move out of state and leave the only doctor who cared enough to try to find an answer. I suspect lupus even though I have a normal ANA. My mother has lupus and fibro.
1056589 tn?1273750702 ) Theresa, I wonder if there's another list in this...? I mean a sort of checklist /survey of members (probably as people join Limboland) and their familial/other apparently unrelated sx?
662361 tn?1225338107 Several members of my HG boards have also recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so I suspect (as do they) that our pregnancy conditions were likely a trigger. My physician keeps putting me off for a legitimate check. So far my Thyroid has been checked ("within normal range"), Lupus came back negative as well as various other tests that I'm unaware of what they mean. One thing that came back was a very low Vitamin D level - not sure what that means.
Avatar f tn I do not think i have fibromyalgia. My physical therapist sees a lot of lyme and fibro people and she thinks it is lyme. you are so helpfull. thanks as i said i have been searching for an answer for over 6 months and sometimes i think i need a shot of whisky and a bullet to bight on.! the pain .. the unknowing creates anxiety. my hubby is an angel. he is so worried. now to take a break from the health crap and try to get this stabbing pain in my shoulder to go away. Advill anyone?
435241 tn?1208579131 please remember that some of these symptoms can go along with lyme, CFIDS and fibromyalgia. Don't forget about these illnesses because they are just as bad as most autoimmune conditions. Here's the link to the checklist:
Avatar f tn He didn't even check my pressure points and when I told him I didn't really think it was fibromyalgia he just blew me off. His nurse gave me a checklist form for fibromyalgia before he even came into the room so I kind of saw it coming. I mean, I definitely have symptoms of fibromyalgia but I don't think it accounts for my main symptoms which are nausea and severe abdominal pain.
