1523981 tn?1311318595 My son is 14 weeks and has developed a nasty cough and stuffy nose, I thought it was just a cold, but I have not caught it and he has not been in close contact with anyone who is or was sick recently. He felt warm and was fussing like he was in pain gave a little infants tylenol. Checked his temp rectally an hour later and his temp was 100.1. The tylenol should of kicked in by now. How often should I check his temp to see if its going down or up?
689402 tn?1236306342 B vaccinations. Yellow Fever is considered a travel vaccination as well and in many high risk countries abroad you MUST be vaccinated by an authorized yellow fever vaccine provider/center before leaving the U.S. I had my 10 year booster for yellow fever when I knew I had HCV but way before treatment with no adverse events....other than the side effects, that is. This PDF should help: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/downloads/vis-yf.
1194973 tn?1385503904 just put her in a onesie and some socks and give her some extra TLC....if her fever stops responding (bear in mind that it will begin to go up again as the tylenol wears off - this is normal) then keep an eye and if it gets above 103-103.3* call her doctor and put a cool, damp cloth on her neck (but not her back - you don't want her chilled) and if it gets any higher than that, take her in immediately. I hope she feels better soon!
Avatar n tn My 20 month old grandson has had vomiting for almost a week. He has had a history of reflux, but this past week he has had some projectile vomiting, no fever, and just can't keep anything down. What should we do? No fever, his pedi thinks it's a virus and lasts 7 to 10 days.
Avatar n tn Her gastro doctor had her tested for this due to frequent vomiting (she still grew at an impressive rate and was in good spirits most days). Is vomiting a common sympton of c diff in infants? She is on antibiotics right now and I am very hopeful that this will cure her of her frequent vomiting. Also, she has never had diarhea, as a matter of fact, she has been constipated since she was 3 months old and has been given a dose of Myrilax daily. Can c diff also be the cause of constipation?

Avatar f tn Hi my 4 months old baby was sick last month she had fever for almost 10 days. I used to check rectal. It was between 98.8 to 101.3. I was giving her Tylenol infants every 4 hours as needed & I was constantly calling her doctor's office. Their response was to watch fever & see if she eats properly. Then I took her to children's hospital emergency unit. They did a urine test via catheter. It came back positive for urine infection. They gave me an antibiotic to give her once a day.
Avatar n tn I have pulsating pain in my head mostly in top. I have neck stiffness and tingling when I turn my head, and hurts in my shoulders as well. I also have pulsating pressure in my ear. Its a wierd feeling that I can't hardly describe.ear feels like sometimes like your really high in the air and need your ears to pop but there is that pressure and air pulsating I have soreness behind my eyes.
Avatar n tn Hi Aidens_Mom, Ya it's new to me also that asthma causes a 103 degree fever! Asthma can lead to pneumonia but not the other way around. When steroids are inhaled into the lungs to treat asthma it creates an immune suppression and can make the person more susceptible to infection. This is a scary thing for a mother not to mention your son and should be investigated further. I would recommend they refer you to a Immunologist, and have the level of antibodies your son has evaluated.
Avatar f tn There are anecdotal reports in which there is an association of infants being born with a serious eye condition that could result in blindness, and cleft palate. Since these drugs are excreted in breast milk, I would discourage their use while breast feeding. Their somnolent effect would be exaggerated in an infant. By the way, when your wife is pregnant, her dermatitis may improve.

6333619 tn?1386598382 Ok so here's the story (rant) which will end with my question(s). Last Friday we found a young cat freezing it's butt off on our patio to our apartment. We decided to let it in, and try to find the owner. He's not chipped and we came close to finding the owner from a flyer that looked like the same cat. But it's not him. The cat is very sweet, very loving, uses the litter box, has claws but uses a scratch pad but I want nothing to do with it and he wants nothing to do with me.
Avatar f tn Could be just what you say it is. A fever and nothing but a fever. Get some rest and see if it does away. If it doesn't go away in one or two days I would suggest seeing your doctor. My guess is that it could be a pretty bad cold that you just need a little attention for or maybe it could be the start of Mono. My mono started out as a fever for a few weeks to a month (I know! I had a fever for almost a month!
Avatar f tn My 4 year old woke up Tuesday morning vomiting with a fever. Throughout the day she continuously complained of pain in her lower right abdomen but my husband said that it would be worse if it was her appendix. By 7pm she was vomiting bloody foam so I took her to the urgent care where they advised I take her to the pediatric ER at the hospital. I took her in and they said it was most likely the flu but they were going to do a CT just to be sure.

Avatar f tn My son just turned 2 in August, and we have been battling high fevers with him since he was 18 months. Seems like it strikes about every 6 weeks. His temp ranges from 103 - 104.5. We have taken him to the ER several times, each time sent home with no answers. They take blood, swab his throat, and take a chest ex-ray, and find nothing. I have also taken him to our regular physician mulitple times, and they dont seem to have any answers either, and they dont seem worried.

Avatar m tn Hi, It is a myth, yogurt causes vomiting. Usually during fever, an individual hates any food given to him. The reason being, change in the hormones of the body when the temperature inside the body increases. The beneficial bacteria in some active yogurt cultures help prevent cold and fever. It is always wise to take boiled or steamed vegetables, vegetable soup, honey and yogurt as these are easy to digest.
