Avatar n tn I am limited in what I can do due to the OA in my knees and RA everywhere else, but besides the knee pain I have no\problems or other symptoms while exercising, I just need to keep it under a run and stay a a fast walking rate. Right now, I'm doing 45 mins per day on a treadmill or until I burn 500 calories and get in 3 miles at a minimum, even on days I travel, I always find the exercise room. Some days it takes longer than others depending on my knees.

Within that time is when my head really started to hurt, and the tiredness, so I never really got back into it. A couple of months ago I tried to start back in and my head started pounding - which is why I went to the Dr and told them whatever they thought was wrong - got the MRI - Dx w/ CM - here I am. So anyway, since finding out it is not a blood vessel about to burst or anything, I tried to exercise yesterday.
Avatar n tn I used to run a lot but now just a few miles a few days a week. The knee pain is interfering with that now for the first time. My hepatologist ordered xrays yesterday and I will talk to him about the results next week. Not running to me is just unimaginable.

Sometimes exercise makes it feel better, but sometimes walking on it for long distances also makes it feel worse. I would like to know if I should exercise it more, or rest it. I went to an athletic trainer and they told me I had tendinitis and to ice and take ibuprofen. It continues to be very painful during practice. I can feel rubbing and clicking in my knee when I walk. What is wrong with my knee? Should I still be playing basketball or will it make it worse?

Avatar n tn I just started to run again. About a day later, I started to get knee pain. I have had it for about 3 days and its not the normal muscle pain. Its right below my knee, my knee's pops when I straighten it out. When I stand up or put pressure on them they hurt and get a pinching (like a slight electrical joult), Taking Tylenol for now. Does this pain last long and what can I do to take care of it? FYI: Im unemployed, layed off, and cant afford insurance....home remedy.

Avatar n tn we did an exercise last night ( pugil sticks) and i have had extreme pain all day in my knee it wasnt immediate yesterday but rather a slow pain. its a sharp pain on the side of my right knee and is incredibly painful to go up or even down stairs.. walking straight is bearable. the pain represents a stabbing knife sharp pain. i need help to tell the post hospital ? could this bee a sprain or tear of a ligament? thanks!
1773330 tn?1314174931 Hi Potti Welcome. Sorry that are having knee pain. Do your knees only hurt when you run? .... Or now do they hurt all the time since you've been running? The obvious is to stop running. It is a high impact exercise and not for everyone. I also suggest you find out if you have a something going on in your knees. Consult your PCP and make sure your knees are healthy. In, the mean time consult your pharmacist for an OTC NSAID suggestion. Ice packs may help the pain rotating with warmth.

You may also consider some topical pain relievers such as capsaicin topical patches (Salonpas is one such product) applied 3-4 times daily when needed. A next step if topical therapies are ineffective may be to add Tylenol on an as needed basis.
Avatar m tn Work makes the anterior/medial part of my knee just near my knee cap ache. Exercise also tends to do this. Awhile back I hit approximately that same location (more medial) on the side of a desk leaving a bruise/large bump. That was a few months ago, and I still have somewhat a bump. Just yesterday I had a long day of work and the back of my knee started to hurt. Could this just be tendonitis or something more? I don't want to go to a specialist if it's just tendonitis.

Keep a thorough pain diary -- daily -- with multiple entries about pain levels, activities, medication, exercise, what makes pain better, worse, etc. Don't forget simple remedies like ice and elevation. You say that pain is "almost as bad" as it was -- this is good. The pain diary will show if your pain is decreasing slowly (it's difficult to remember what yesterdays pain was.
Avatar f tn Riding and walking consistently have kept the other from surgery for 15 yeara and I am allergic to NSAIDs. Sometimes they can give you cortezone. The one knee does worse the less exercise I get. Every knee is different and that is why I would start with a GP an possibly PT first.

I wonder if there is an excercise I can do so I can prolong surgery. I love to walk but by the time I get back I'm in agony. Does anyone know of an excercise that would help?

Avatar m tn I know the difference between muscle pain and joint pain, and this is definitely not muscle pain. It's centered in the front area of the knee, under and around my kneecap area - sometimes on the inside, sometimes underneath, etc. I thought about doing some quarter-squats with, say, just the bar on my back, or quarter-presses in the leg press, but when I did that a few days ago, I woke up the next day with my knees hurting (on a scale of 1 to 10, it was about a 2 with 10 being the worst).

1378884 tn?1315509445 When first diagnosed I could not walk up a flight of stairs due to the intense general knee pain. Now it comes back intermittently for a day or two then it subsides but does not fully go away. I have also felt like I cannot stretch my tendons in my legs enough even after warming them up and stretching for 30 min. I am 55 and have done many bad things to my knees over the years but nothing like this has happened before. It's as if the tendons and muscles around my knees have lost all strength.
