Avatar f tn Unfortunately, the seat hurt my big ole' bum, but I can probably fix that if I can find a bike seat big enough! LOL I have been debating buying a bike. The weather here is actually pretty pleasant year 'round, so we have make good "bike riding" days. Enjoy yourself!!!
1936411 tn?1333835449 hmmmmmm have you ever thought of getting a gel bike seat cover, save you looking like a twit when you get off the thing lol I think you get more exercise from a sport than you do from exercising for exercising sake, well I get more out of it and it is probably because of the fun aspect. Water aerobics and swimming seems to be the common activities mentioned on here, i'd be more like drowning though i can still float but i'm sure technically floating doesn't actually count as exercise.
Avatar n tn For the past six months I've been spinning about 3x/week average, and despite using a gel seat and not sitting as much as possible, the pain in my backside has gone from an uncomfortable sensation, and straining pain (esp. when rising from seated > standing position) to what seems like a floating tailbone which now wiggles uncomfortably when I flex my ass muscles or reposition in my seat.
Avatar n tn I did work up to a point at which I could get a good exercise in on my recumbent exercise bike (it has a very soft seat, and I reclined the seat as far as it would go) but this was 10 months into my saga. I was also losing some weight, which did help me tremendously.
Avatar n tn I love to be active... so thankful. In the interim, if you can't get into a accupuncturist. I found a nerve gel at Walgreens, that would stop an episode for about 6 hrs. I also tried a marajuana tincture applied topically helped as well.
405614 tn?1329147714 Well, the banging the knee happened last week, a few days before I fell off the box at PT (have a bump/bruise on left hand where I caught myself on exercise bike). The other things have happened over the past year, with many more incidents, like the time I was laughing and joking with my roommate and fell into the half-wall in the bathroom face-first, getting paint on my glasses and a bruised cheek and eyebrow.
Avatar n tn I have curtailed these a lot, since any vigorous exercise seems to flame up the pain. It is especially painful near the center of the right buttocks, almost near the groin, almost right on the bone where I sit. But sometimes the pain radiates from the lower right back into the right hip area. When I bend over to tie my shoe, the pain also can go from the right butt into the upper hamstring. I am new to this website, but was just looking for some advice.

I exercise moderately and am not considered overweight--well at least for a 53 year old man--but I was riding a stationary bike more frequently (4-5 x per week) and at a higher resistance level for a few month before this pain. If anyone knows what this is, any contribution to this thread would be appreciated.

It was a bit awkward because seat of the chair I rested my legs upon was a bit higher than the seat of the chair I was sitting on. .After about 15-20 in this position, my left leg fell asleep.. I got up to walk it off.. About an hour later, I felt like my cell phone was going off in my crotch.. As long as I moving around, I didn't feel it but when I went to bed last night, it was real noticeable..
192055 tn?1263559137 Starts to hurt and I need to slip my hand down my bike shorts and pull it out. After a while it stays out. I thought it may be due to bike seat or tight shorts. Now it happens doing other activities or just when in the office. I'll keep check to see what answers come up.

Avatar n tn this helped a lot - go for a massage of the whole area that hurts pay close attention to any sore spots and work them yourself at least 15 minutes everyday - one urologist told me to walk at least 1 mile per day (basically i need to be more active) - do not sit for extended periods of time get up and go do something every so often - sit as comforatably as possible as often as possible - talk really hot baths with espom salts for at least 1/2 hour per day - stretch daily - aloe gel and vitamine
Avatar f tn My rash was on my lower legs the day I arrived home. I put cooling gel (aloe vera) and itch cream on it and within two days it began to disappear. Because of the heat here in the Washington DC area, I turned on my air conditioning (78%) and the fan in my bedroom to keep me cool. By the fith day it was gone along with the slight swelling that I also had. I believe it was heat related because while in Florida I wore walking shorts and had no problem.
Avatar f tn Hi I was diagnosed with moderately severe erosive esophagitis and chronic mild gastritis a month ago via endoscopy and biopsy. I have been on 40 mg omeprazole QAM for 4 and a half weeks and 300 mg ranitidine Qhs. I have no relief of my symptoms. Esophagus feels as something is stuck in it much of the time with sharp pains and burning in chest, arms and back much of the day as well. It doesn't matter if my stomach is empty or I have eaten.

The cramps last for about 3-5 minutes. I have fibroids which may be pressing on my organs but it only happens during that two weeks before my period. I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem until reading these posts.

I can tell you that its the last thing I feel like doing when I have it and I've tried other things like the cold water on the face to no avail.

Avatar n tn I've found the most relief from pain, itch and swelling of the outer veins in the anal area using pure aloe vera gel after every trip to the bathroom; washing and drying the area well before applying. I couldn't believe how quickly it worked. I get large tubes of the 100% pure gel at the local Rite Aid store, and wouldn't be without it now.

But that wasn't as bad as my tongue swelling up a few days later. I had daily swelling in different places--my sides, neck, etc. Once I thought I had something in my sock. I took off my shoe and saw the ball under big toe swelled. No swelling ever lasted more than a day—usually less.
Avatar n tn Our lifestyle, I believe is our problem, and lack of exercise. Although, exercise alone without stretching can be hazardous if you are tight. Those of you who have this, stretch until you are flexible, and this may help. (I've been like a rubber band (touch hands flat to floor standing, etc,) until lately. Now lately, I have this too! Sorry to say doctors just want to do tests, and med's. We just all need to watch what we eat, exercise, and destress however you can.....
