Common Questions and Answers about Exercise bike nh

exercise

Monkey Right at present I only have a exercise bike available to me and we generally have not nice winters for walking. Cold does not bother me but worry about the ice so my question is this. Will it be beneficial for me to just use the bike on days when cannot walk, is that going to help with my weight and exercise program.
Avatar f tn I am wondering what you guys do for exercise with Cm and syringomelia. My Dr said to walk or swim. I bought a bike, the recumbent type. The first time I used it the next day I have severe headaches, "migraine" worthy. Any chance this is a coincidence?
1237562 tn?1360989580 For the first few weeks I could still exercise. I tried to ride the recumbent bike and walked for a total of 20 to 30 min. per day. Once my severe fatigue set in around week 4, and my hemoglobin started dropping below 10, I rode the bike but kept my heart rate under 120 BPM as I didn't want to risk a heart attack. My heart was already pumping harder due to the lack of oxygen from low Hgb. and I'm a former smoker.
Avatar f tn I just stick to walking... whether its outside or on a treadmill. You can go bike riding as well. Squats, lunges... simple stuff. Don't do anything where you are putting strain on your body or where you won't be able to catch your breath.
Avatar f tn nothing high impact. you can still exercise but can't allow yourself to over heat, let your heart rate get too high etc. the moment you feel yourself heating up with the red sweaty face and start panting its time to take a break. walking, swimming and jogging are all ok. i walk miles every day right up to the day before baby boy arrived at 42weeks. you can cycle on a stationary exercise bike, they recommend you don't go on a normal bike cause your balance is affected while pregnant.
12693075 tn?1442246392 I walk & use the stationary bike every week. My goal is 10 miles a week. I was doing more pre pregnancy. I didn't exercise much in my 1st trimester because I was so tired. My 2nd trust is almost over and I'm hoping I can keep exercising! I also use free weights fir my arms and some machines. I don't do more than 25lbs but make up for it with more reps! Exercise is good for endurance! Im hoping my delivery goes well because ive stayed active!
Avatar f tn I personally think it has a lot more to do with diet rather than the kind of exercise one is doing. But with that said, I do varied amount of cardio exercise to keep it mixed up. Some days I hit the tread mill, some days the bike, some days the eliptical machine and some days I'll do a good amount of 2 of the 3. Are you incorporating weight training into your program?
Avatar n tn Do you have a bike? If you do then you can convert your own outdoor bike into an indoor exercise machine easily and inexpensively with an indoor trainer or roller. Which one is best for you depends on your preferences, goals and fitness experience. To convert your bike to an indoor machine using a trainer, you affix your back wheel into an elevated mount and your front wheel rests on a plastic block.
Avatar f tn Walking, swimming, yoga, bike riding........
Avatar f tn Thanks for sharing ladies. I was walking/jogging recently and plan to continue. I also have a stationary bike and am used to doing weights and elipiticalat the gym. Good luck going forward!
Avatar f tn What kind of excercising are okay to do during pregnancy? Any moms exercise during there whole pregnancy?
483733 tn?1326798446 While playing the waiting game to hear how they are going to treat my issues, is it OK to exercise? I'm not a normally active (exercise wise) person. I don't want to do anything that would cause cysts to burst or twist. What do you think?
Avatar n tn There's walking, bike riding and pregnancy yoga. All are safe to do. I've recently started going on 30 minute walks a few times a week.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, what are your thoughts on riding a bike in the park if I'm 5 weeks preggo?
Avatar f tn Can you ride on a stationary bike while pregnant? I know you can do moderate exercise and I know that regular biking is out of the question because of all the bumps and jostling. But I would think stationary bike would be fine? I want to keep my thighs toned (NOT trying to lose weight but just stay healthy and in shape). Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn m now hoping everything is ok but I want to do some exercise to try and tone up a little I know you can use a stationary bike but has any one used a cross trainer at a steady pace?
4311875 tn?1352630163 I was riding until I crashed hard, kept falling and went into HE phase. Now I'm scared to ride, but I go to Y once/twice a week and ride stationary bike. Can't fall off that one. Do what you want until it becomes impossible is my advice.
2066536 tn?1354241604 This time, due to time/schedule constraints, I have been doing more walking and using a bike trainer (turns a bike in to a stationary bike). I just hit 30 weeks and think I may only have a few weeks on the bike left - it's starting to get harder to avoid whacking baby with my thighs! Ultimately, as claire said, it depends on what activities and fitness level you pursued prior to pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I am 6 wks pregnant and I did a 15 mole long bike ride along with other cyclists. Is that safe? Or should I lay back from bike riding in my 1st trimester?
Avatar f tn Can i use an indoor exercycle bike?
Avatar f tn Just wanted to update you guys on how my exercise program is going. I have been meeting with a personal trainer now for two months, twice a week for about 45 minutes. I have had NO major setbacks so far!!! She happens to also be a nurse, so I felt less anxious about working with her. She was unfamiliar with Dysautonomia, POTS, but researched it so that she would understand my condition(s). Needless to say, she was nervous about working with me and saw me (as I did) as fragile.
Avatar f tn I'm 22 and have always gone to the gym. I don't do something like run 5miles a day but my usual is about 30min of cardio on either elliptical, bike, jogging then some weights. I'm curious what you all have been doing as exercise? I'm 3months pregnant and was already a little overweight so I'm trying to maintain a healthy weight. does anyone do spinning classes?
Avatar f tn I wouldn't advise a bike unless it is stationary, balance is a little off haha. Have you been exercising throughout the pregnancy? I would talk to your doctor first, and see what they suggest for exercise. Things like yoga, walking, swimming, etc all are recommended typically. Low impact seems to be the most common.
1018329 tn?1448980165 Whats a good amount of exercise to get while pregnant? I am trying to work out at least 5 days a week for 30 minutes, I figure it's about as good as it's going to get until I am less tired or well into my second trimester. Just curious what everyone else does to get exercise and what you are doing to keep healthy through your pregnancy.
Avatar n tn 5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run) The cardiologist responded that I should exercise as long as it was comfortable, but not to exert myself too much. He advised me not to do the triathlon. I have a stress echo done every year, and do very well. In addition, I have no symptoms. My research does not seem to support what this physician recommends. Any advice?
