Avatar n tn Dieting Community. I'm new to this particular forum and am beginning the Nutritarian Diet. and exercise program for myself:) Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. When did you find out you had Graves disease.? WHOA , i read that Treatment with antithyroid medications must be given for six months to two years to be effective. Are you being treated for this condition?
233488 tn?1310696703 O’Keefe, MD As the June7, 2014 Hospital Hill Half-Marathon “run up” commences, disturbing research is accumulating about potential cardiovascular dangers of exercising at maximal levels for durations over an hour, especially after age 40. While this type of ‘excessive endurance exercise’ can occur with cross-country skiing, long distance swimming, triathlons, and 100+ mile bike races, the prototype activity is marathon running.
Avatar m tn My GP says that the ALT is most likely from the alcohol not the HCV based on my other blood work results. I feel great, especially after quitting the wine and can go for a 50mi bike ride at 16 mph average 5 days a week with no fatigue other that what one might expect from strenuous exercise. I have not had the genome testing yet, I assume that will happen when I see the specialist.
Avatar m tn Hi there Klonny, and great news. Do believe you have to give yourself credit for jumping on that bike, day after day after day. Makes sense to me dropping alot of your weight ( 30 Lbs? ) helped you to achieve SVR12. You should give yourself a pat on the back for that one. Know we can't change our "Host Factors' other then the weight, so will say cheers to you... ...
4043517 tn?1374010173 Today is Monday, at work wishing I was home in bed. Saturday took a hard spill on the bike down the river bank hitting rocks along the way and flayed the skin off my arm. Now worrying about an infection, I have the arm wrapped up mostly, but it hurts so much, my left leg, ribs etc are crying. Not to mention the daily abdomen, back and shoulder pain throbbing through.
Avatar n tn I won't take that because it makes me think of death. I live in NH, yes NH where it is cold and still is in the month of April, we just had snow. haha In 3 years all the children will be out of high school and off to college. They will be on there own at that point so we are considering the move then. So far the only place we have been is to Green Cove Springs, Fl (next to Jacksonville) and it has a totally different humidity then NH and my pain is not as flared.
Avatar n tn My husband justrecently got diagnosed with this condition. Has anyone else had this diagnosis given after a hyda scan? Another question....What are some helpful hints on food that are low and fat and ones in which he should avoid?
Avatar f tn So I was just in Orlando 7/15-20 and spent 4 days in Universal and one day I park hopped in Disney. I have been down in Orlando 5 times in the last 4 years. 2 times were 10 days Disney, one time 7 days Disney but my husband broke his leg so I didn't really do anything, this time and also last October I did one day in SeaWorld and one in Discovery Cove. I got this same rash except for the SeaWorld/Discovery Cove time. I have tried to narrow it down and can not figure it out.
Avatar n tn Unless the weight you carry is causing you life threatening problems - then and only then should you consider risks - I would recommend the old favourite - balanced diet, smaller portions - eating frequent small meals and exercise. This way you can change your lifestyle for the better without grasping for quick fix solutions which ultimately end up making you pile the weight on later on!
Avatar n tn I should have waited for cervical replacement. I am an athlete by heart. I bike, exercise, own 4 jet skis and used to love running. After my cervical fusion and very little rehab, then the official release from the neurosurgeon I went back to my usual fitness. I now have adjacent segmental disease on above and below, I stay in chronic pain almost all days. I can do very little upper body. DO NOT fuse!!!! I am a nurse and my husband is an OR nurse. I did it because my pain was SOO bad.
Avatar n tn - In terms of treatment, I've seen two orthopedic surgeons, two chiropractors, PT clinic, exercise physiologists. I get a lot of assumptions that I'm talking about a lower back problem/sciatica which is complete wrong. I did have sciatica which a little bit of PT cleared up. - I've been on NSAIDs (ibuprofen and naproxen), muscle relaxers, antibiotics, neurontin, percocet, vicodin.
429155 tn?1205676864 I feel the need to be alone overpowering sometimes, maybe not a good thing, I will need to exercise more as that helps, but it's a merry go round, more exercise equals more tired, but then cannot sleep equals more fatigue, am at a loss.
Avatar n tn The docs said it will take time to get my system back in-balance and I have anxiety medicine (Serax/Oxazepam) for sleeping, breathing exercises to do, and instructions for mild exercise like walking or gentle yoga. I actually had 9 hours sleep last night for the first time in 6 weeks and I feel so much better! I'm still going to the naturopathic doctor weekly for B12 and other vitamin infusions to help equalize my system too.
363682 tn?1299492962 The only thing that cures it for me is vigourous exercise. Exedrin, motrin ect. don't even touch it. The headaches start shortly after finishing my drinks, but are worst the next morning. I find it strange that 2 drinks would effect me 8-12 hours later! thinking of giving up the drink completely.
Avatar n tn My doctor does not seem to know what the problem is and is contacting a specialist in Lebanon, NH. My Dr. prescribed an estrogen cream which did not seem to work. I have not been on any other medication for this. I am looking for some guidance as to what this condition may be and how to treat it. My husband & I want to get pregnant soon but I would like to resolve this issue first. Please help.
162948 tn?1205256292 It was not until I started reading everyone's post that I realized all of the problems that I've been having were probably from the Mirena (acne where I've never had it, Horrible PMS, funky cycles ranging from 25 -31 days apart and lasting from a couple of days to a week and a half), inexplicable weight gain despite regular exercise and strict food intake management and on and on...). I began my last cycle on the August 14th and it was mostly gone on the day I had the Mirena.
