He has increased the dosage since and where the hot flashes are subsiding, the mood swings are now way out of control. Watching a commercial can literally send me into a complete crying tail spin. I have tried over the counter hormone creams, vitamins such as black cohash and all kinds of other things that "older" ladies have recommended and nothing seems to be working. I am not depressed or anything like that so i do not need those type medications.
Hi, I am 17, I am on Depo Provera and am having side effects such as constant bleeding (1 month and half) and the common mood changes. I was told that if I take estrogen I can minimize the bleeding or even stop it...However I was informed by a nurse that due to breast cancer running in my family if I starting to take an estrogen pill so early it can potentially make my risk of breast cancer even higher for the future.
I had my hystercomy 12/2006....I have had hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings almost every night before and after my hystercomy.
My mother-in-law told me that I did not have a total hystercomy if I am still having night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, and etc.....
my question is.....Am I going crazy or is it normal to have those systoms?
I am a 24/7 pain patient. Before and after my period I have extreme mood swings. Extreme doesn’t even explain what I go through. Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy to stop the mood swings?
I would like to take estrogen to help the menopause symptoms still driving me crazy one year after surgery and chemo for ovarian cancer stage 2c - I also had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy as I have a history of breast cancer in my family - I have heard the HRT can increase the incidence of OC but I am wondering if an estrogen patch would be safe as I have had my ovaries, uterus, tubes, cervix, and breasts removed surgically.
I have had a full hysterctomy in February. I am experiencing mood swings and weight gain and raised temperature. Is there a way to control these symptoms?

i have been on anxiwty drugs for twenty years and was doing aoaky till a few years back so i wanted to see if the estrogen would help me...i need my sex drive back will it help with that and my mood and vagianl dryness...
I am wondering why I am loosing so much hair after my complete (my ovaries are out too)hysterectomy? I was on 1 mg of Estrace which was very helpful the first month or two.I felt so incredibly good. My hot flashes were gone completely, and my moods swings were stable.Then after about one and a half months my hot flashes and mood swings came back with a vengeance.Because I couldn't get in to see the Dr. for another 2 months I started taking 1 and 1/2 mg of Estrace for another month.
t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
I am having very bad hot flashes,mood swings,and fatigue,sometimes insomia. I have been on estrogen since Oct.2008,my O.B. wants me to take Effexor 37.5mg twice daily to help with the hot flashes and mood swings. My concern is that I was previously on Zoloft 50mg. and it gave me real bad headaches raised my blood pressure and sent me on a emergent run to the hsp. emergency room,,I am concerned about starting this medicience that it will cause the same problems or worse. Mood changes and all the symptoms associated with menopause are hormone caused. Estrogen and testosterone production decline or go away with surgical menopause and if we don't supplement it, then all sorts of things happen.
Low estrogen manifests itself in:

Lately I have been experiencing anxiety, some insomnia, happy/sad mood swings. I feel like packing my bags and running away. I pray to be nice and not let me say something mean especially towards my mom.I had a full hysterectomy in 2005 but was never prescribed any hormone pills. The doc said I didn't need any. Femara is different than Clomid. Clomid binds to estrogen receptors and makes the body think estrogen is low. Femara actually blocks the synthesis of estrogen. Both have the same effect though - which leads to more FSH and LH which stimulates follicle growth in the ovary.
In addition, you maybe u need to juss focus on having sex and pleasing Ur partner when you both are getting sexual... Sometimes the mood has to b set meaning mentally, physically,and try to set the mood differenly...role play..light candles.. pop in a porn. you could juss really b over this whole sex encounter with em bcuz its a routine....
Is she experiencing any other symptoms? Pain, bloating, mood changes? She may want to go for tests because it is most likely some kind of hormone imbalance. The iron supplements made her feel better because they are helping to replenish the blood she is losing with the increased menses, but they are not likely to cure the underlying problem. I don't know much about either condition but here are two possibllities:
1. Perimenopause - which can happen as early as the late 30's.
