Avatar m tn Low estrogen levels are often addressed by supplementing with estrogen cream or patches; however some nutritional supplements may also help improve symptoms Low Progesterone: Treatment often includes natural progesterone supplementation, which is generally very safe and effective. The herb chasteberry may also help normalize progesterone levels. Sometimes low progesterone indicates low thyroid hormone levels, therefore lab tests for thyroid function may be recommended.
Avatar f tn I am being treated with this with Hydrocortone but with this my testosterone levels is low as is my Free Androgen Index is also low. Avatar f tn Some studies suggest that these lumps may be dependent upon estrogen, because they are common in premenopausal women, pregnant women and postmenopausal women taking estrogen. Limiting beverages or foods that contain caffeine, including coffee and chocolate can help shrink the lump and reduce the pain. Also evening primrose oil and vitamins E and C supplement, application of warm compresses to the breast and massaging with Castor oil could be very beneficial.
Avatar f tn A study testing the safety of vaginal estrogen (Vagifem) for vaginal atrophy/dryness in woman on estrogen-blocking drugs such as tamoxifen 4. A study testing the safety of low dose estrogen to treat hot flahes and vaginal dryness in women on AIs However, a search for estrogen as a treatment for ERneg BC turned up no results. If you come across the study you referred to again, I'd really appreciate a reference or link to the information...
Avatar f tn Maybe ovarian functioning is directly coorelated to the quality is some fashion. I do know that failing ovarian functioning in older women cooresponds very highly to their present quality. Well, how could it be that I could be compared to my cohort's quality if it is based on my age. It just doesn't make sense! Does anybody have a prognosis for my outcome.
Avatar f tn They can then determine if you really are low estrogen. And if it is so low that you have these types of issues, then you can perhaps take BC with estrogen and bump back up to get regulated again. I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack.
Avatar f tn Hi There, The fact of the matter is that eating disorders are very common in older women and I think that the reason that it is not a well known fact is simply because as older women this is something that we hide pretty well. I am 38 "Soon to be 39" and I also have an eating disorder. I flip flop between bulimia and just not eating at all. I am 5'0" and I weigh about 113. I have a medium frame and I work out like a demon. I both love and hate food.
Avatar n tn You should see your Dr and tell him/her what's going on. It could be that your testosterone is low. This is very common as you age. With women it's estrogen. Your Dr should do a full checkup and blood panel on you. If it is a testosterone problem there are treatments for that.
Avatar f tn I started using this plant based progesterone cream that helps balance out all our hormones. We women are usually estrogen dominant due to all the exogenous estrogens were getting exposed to and in menopause we get no progesterone at all. Progesterone helps offset estrogen, without it it's kind of damaging to our bodies.
Avatar f tn Estring, for example, releases over 90 days an amount equivalent to taking oral estrogen for just 2 days, and Vagifem, aready a very low dose estrogen product, is now available in a 10 mcg dose, as well as the original 20 mcg dose. (Both of these are reported to be preferrable to a similar third product, Estrace.) These products also appear to have a very, very low level of systemic absorption.
Avatar f tn I don’t know if the IFN caused this occurrence, or if it was merely coincidental. Many women do HCV therapy at the normal biological timeframe that menopause occurs in naturally, of course. Have you consulted an endocrinologist?
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
402702 tn?1325887812 Is there any hope in getting pregnant with fibriods and low estrogen. My hope is yes but i need to hear from someone out there that has gone through similar experience. I have people telling me, don't you think you and your husband are to old to start a family, look at it this way in 20 years you will be 65 and people at 65 are usually grandparents. OOOOOOOOhhhh I hate when people say that. I need hope and encourage that this is possible.
Avatar m tn The treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in men and breast cancer in post-menopausal women is to use a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. According to Jaroslav Drsata, a scientist in the Czech Republic, the enzyme-blocking properties of saw palmetto may include aromatase.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms may be due, at least in part, from not having enough estrogen. Women also lose about 50% of their testosterone when their ovaries are removed. Unfortunately, doctors fail to divulge this important information before surgery! 1mg of estrogen taken orally is a fairly low dose for a woman without ovaries. And some women do not absorb oral estrogen very well. Has your doctor ever checked your blood level of estrogen or estradiol?
1616538 tn?1304707284 Generally, it's not known what causes chemical pregnancies, early miscarriage, etc. What is known is that most women don't even know when they have an early miscarriage or cp because it happens SO early and it doesn't cause their cycle to be delayed or only by a day or 2. It's basically been chalked up to a chromosomal issue and usually doesn't indicate a long-term problem.

Avatar n tn You will be amazed how much better you will feel in just about 5-7 days ( less for some) Bio Identical in comparison with old school hormones like premarine are very safe, you will hear different from some, actually I asked my cardiologist he says they are safe for heart where the older hormones are not, and lack of estrogen is very bad for the skeletal system...
Avatar m tn Systemic estrogen therapy — by pill, patch or gel — can have a positive effect on brain function and mood factors that affect sexual response. Local estrogen therapy — in the form of a vaginal cream or a slow-releasing suppository or ring that you place in your vagina — can increase blood flow to the vagina and help improve desire. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe a combination of estrogen and progesterone.
Avatar f tn Also, I am taking less estrogen replacement then in the past so that should also reduce density and I have no ovaries. Does an increase in density indicate breast changes that point towards cancer? Very confusing? Is this a red flag?
Avatar n tn m on bioidentical HRT, 2-3 pumps Estrogel and 100mg Progesterone for 12 days in the cycle. My last blood levels in January 2013 were estrogen 29 pg/ml, progesterone 1.1 nmol/l. My most annoying symptoms are anxiety, depressive moods, insomnia, low libido, cold chills. My Gyno said that I have probably an estrogen dominancy and I should increase progesterone on 200 mg. I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think?
Avatar m tn I swear doctors should not give them to you until they can sit down with you and go over them. What I know is that in your teens, estrogen is low and testosterone is high. As we get older, our estrogen level increases. That's normal. A lot of times as our estrogen level gets higher, our testosterone level gets lower. This equates a bit to the old cliché about sex drive in men, being crazy in the teens and less so as we get old.
