Avatar m tn After a year of being in remission, I too had such a tough time with hot flashes and mood swings, so I took estadil and soon my marker went up, Come to find out my cancer was not tested for estrogen sensitivity. So please make sure.
1553360 tn?1355848431 The first 2 days was depressed and just sad about everything, yesterday was fine, but the today I feel up and down non-stop. Please can anyone give me some advice as to how long this may last. Once I get my cycle I can start the clomid, which makes me question if there will be any more mood changes. Any advice would be appreciated!
405824 tn?1201817954 I wondered if you are on the combi-patch? ...Estrogen and Progesterone? or just estrogen. Do you mind saying what brand (Vivelle?) and if you are not taking Progesterone, has anyone ever talked with you about this? If they think you are going into early menopause, you are likely not ovulating and so you would not be releasing progesterone.
Avatar n tn I am having very bad hot flashes, mood swings, and fatigue, sometimes insomia. I have been on estrogen since Oct.2008,my O.B. wants me to take Effexor 37.5mg twice daily to help with the hot flashes and mood swings. My concern is that I was previously on Zoloft 50mg. and it gave me real bad headaches raised my blood pressure and sent me on a emergent run to the hsp. emergency room,,I am concerned about starting this medicience that it will cause the same problems or worse. My O.B.
Avatar f tn In the last year, I would say that the symptoms including hot flashes, have been unbearable at times and have been more frequently and more severly. He has increased the dosage since and where the hot flashes are subsiding, the mood swings are now way out of control. Watching a commercial can literally send me into a complete crying tail spin.
Avatar f tn went to a dr todfay and i have to get a mamogram before she will think about prescibig them and then i have high colestaral so i dont know if she will give them to me or not.........i think they wouldhelp my mood im on 2 antidepressants and xanax for anxiety....i have sexual problems too which i never used to have..
Avatar m tn Supplementing with DHEA could improve your depression symptoms by reducing your cortisol level. Testosterone also play a crucial role in mood and sex drive so I think it will help. It will also help with your memory. You must be careful with the dosage tho because too much testo or estrogen is not good. High estrogen production thru supplementation or diet rich in phytochemicals producing estrogen are linked with tumor growth.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar f tn Hormones change with menopause, and hormones can affect mood. I use Progesterone 1% cream to help with this. It is a bio-identical hormone, whose purpose is to balance the hormones that have changed from pre-menopausal times. I'm also on an antidepressant (Effexor XR-- have been for years), and an antianxiety medication (Klonopin). I would check with your gynecologist regarding this. Good luck.
534800 tn?1217167359 I have been living with a host of menopausal symptoms for over two years now (hot flashes, sweats, chronic insomnia, mood swings, migraines, exhaustion, you name it) and I feel the lack of sleep is severely affecting my overall mood at this point and causing great tension between myself and my family. I cannot seem to get my estrogen leveled out (try everything natural, no interest in drugs or hormones) and nothing seems to work right now.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 17, I am on Depo Provera and am having side effects such as constant bleeding (1 month and half) and the common mood changes. I was told that if I take estrogen I can minimize the bleeding or even stop it...However I was informed by a nurse that due to breast cancer running in my family if I starting to take an estrogen pill so early it can potentially make my risk of breast cancer even higher for the future.
Avatar f tn I was in a Boceprevir study and they let me continue my HRT through it, so my estrogen level was constant. I did SVR. I have always wondered if the reason I didn't have mood swings and depression was because I my estrogen was consistent. If I *had* been producing my own, it would have still been affected by the heavy meds whereas the patch was not.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
Avatar f tn While the ovaries may be gone, there is still estrogen floating around and it takes a while to get out of the body and that is why you will have symptoms plus your body may be out of wack with other hormones. I know after my TAH-BSO and could not take replacements for a while, I was a mess. I am still pretty hot and it has been years - that is unusual. You still have one other source of estrogen in your adrenals.
Avatar f tn I think if you are considering going so far as a hysterectomy, you might be able to work with your doctor first to imitate the effects of a hysterectomy by using drugs to turn off your hormones for a while, to see if it makes a difference. It wouldn't surprise me if part of the package is the ovaries, but it would surprise me if that is *all* of the picture. It seems like the triggers for hormones and hormone swings also have to come from the brain.
3944505 tn?1348709677 ve been getting major headaches nausea dizzy spells and hot flashes.. I rarely get headaches maybe one or two a year but I've been getting 3-4 these last two weeks. I have also been getting hot flash's and nausea. But I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. My dad said that stress levels could be causing it but whenever I get stressed I just lose my appetite... Has anybody else gone through this?
1437126 tn?1284099058 Thanks for your response. I'm not taking any pills now for almost a year. of course I do have estrogen dominance, mood swings, nausea and vaginal dryness as well. I also have mid cycle period on the 14th day with dark blood. I was confused whether it's a good sign or a bad sign. Is it a ruptured cyst?
Avatar f tn There was ups and downs with his levels and He’s more consistent but still not high in his levels. He even takes an estrogen pill to prevent highs. But he is battling mood swings still and is constantly upset he is not getting enough sex, which is average or better than average. There is weekly or biweekly intense arguing. It is ruining our marriage. He was told to exercise to help the swings and he says he does at work but I don’t know for sure. Has anyone else experienced this.
Avatar f tn Our hormones can be very tied into mood and losing an ovary will be immediate impact to hormones. Estrogen deficiency is what occurs from loss of an ovary. And depression is common from premature estrogen deficiency. This study talks about it (copy and paste into your web browswer) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6196781/ Depression is treatable though. Your doctor could visit the idea of hormone replacement.
Avatar n tn Then with that --- levels of progesterone and testosterone are unbalanced with the amount of estrogen and cortisol building. So now instead of a sluggish thyroid disorder holding you back - Almost your whole endocrine system is out of whack. Then insulin falls and spikes then organs start to be harmed. Symptoms can alert a person of these changes happening.
Avatar m tn You might try OTC meds for menopause first or go back and see your GYN and as for low dose estrogen.
1276940 tn?1564515084 The depression continued while on an inadequate estrogen. After I got enough estrogen in my body, the depression lifted and has not returned.
Avatar f tn Studies show that ovary removal or post-hysterectomy ovarian failure increases risk for many health problems including heart disease (the #1 killer of women), osteoporosis, hip fracture, cognitive and memory impairment, dementia, Parkinsonism, mood disorders (depression, mood swings, anxiety, irritability), vision and skin changes, poor sleep quality, urogenital atrophy, sexual dysfunction, more severe hot flushes (I think that's all of them!).
1219499 tn?1410749730 My first cycle I had all the side effects - headaches (all day, every day), hot flashes, mood swings, and dry CM. This month my body must have been prepared and I havent had any side effects. But im taking the Estrogen to help with me being dry "down there" from the Clomid. I hope Clomid works out for you!! Good luck and sending some baby dust!!
Avatar f tn Before MS, aged 47 and monthlies still a pain and showing no sign of slowing down yet. I did not start my periods till 15 so quite late so assume menopause will be later than some as it is based on number of cycles. All I know is that now I feel worse each month and I am convinced this is MS related. This month, right now my muscles are aching big time and I am very fatigued..
