Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
594914 tn?1245263684 Hey what is the purpose for estrogen meds. My Doc put me on them and he said he wants me to start them next month if my cycle comes.... What good does this do for me?
1328473 tn?1335874467 m on clomid and my estrogen levels can be as low as 1500 at ovulation and this cycle as high as 3500 at ovulation. I was just told it's indicative of the amount of eggs / follicles sorry don't know where did you hear this? from your RE?
Avatar f tn this is best achieved by metformin, 2000 mg per day, and clomid, given for five days per month at the lowest dose which will induce ovulation. once you know you are ovulating, you should stay at the same dose of clomid until you conceive. if you go above the minimum dose of clomid needed for ovulation, fertility actually can decline, and rate of miscarriage can increase. if you don't get pregnant after the first, second or third cycle of an ovulatory dose of clomid, don't despair.
546318 tn?1328193635 If I am pregnant should my estrogen levels be higher than at time of ovulation or is it normal for them to go slightly lower? Any replies much appreciated! It's so confusing as they say estrogen causes low temp and pregesterone rises it, so you would think estrogen stays lower if preg, but someone told me that your estrogen levels should get higher if pregnant than they were at ovulation...
Avatar f tn I had a friend who was on clomid and estrogen (clomid helped her get pregnant, but thinned her lining, so the estrogen helped counter that), then she went on progesterone as soon as she got a bfp. and found this on healthywomen . org "During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones that cause a new egg to be released from its follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces estrogen, which causes the lining of the uterus to thicken.
655897 tn?1328018445 Does anyone know what their estrogen level was around a week after your IUI or ovulation? Mine is 820. Is that a good sign? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Theres is many treatments for endo, the "pill" for one or just progestin, did you have a lap for diagnosis?
Avatar f tn My retrieval is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:30am. I triggered last night at 10:30pm. For the past day and a half though, I've been getting a ton of the egg white cervical mucous. I'm so nervous that I'm going to accidently ovulate before retrieval. Is the egg white cervical mucous (EWCM) normal during the IVF cycle? I've heard we get EWCM because of elevated estrogen levels, which anyone going through IVF obviously has, but I just want to make sure.

Avatar n tn If your ovulation is normal why is the doctor recommending Clomid? Usually it is recommended for ovulation problems. It can lower estrogen level, reduce your CM, thin your endometrial lining and cause your ovulation time to shift in your cycle. It also increases the risk of multiple births. My doctor wants me to start it if I don't ovulate on my own this month, but I have amenorrhea due to anovulation, so it is probably required for me to conceive.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry about your cancelled cycle. You will probably still ovulate on yopur own (if you normally do). I would use OPK's or an Ov. monitor to make sure. Did your RE say he was going to change your protocol for your next IVF attempt?
7843530 tn?1395009668 I want to know what having an anovulatory cyst typically does to your estrogen levels. I'm using an ovulation microscope and I've gotten some odd readings here and there, so I'm wondering if my estrogen levels are abnormal because of the cyst my doc felt on my ovary. She said it was only a little enlarged and would probably resolve itself within a cycle, and I'm at CD 24 now, with first time full ferning this morning.
Avatar n tn Your estrogen does continue to increase during the first part of your cycle and hits a peak right before ovulation. The estrogen is needed to help build the lining and it also helps improve the cervical mucus. I'm not sure how much of an impact a low level has on day 3, as the levels are generally much lower then anyway. I guess it all depends on how much it increases as you get closer to ovulation. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn t make sense that it has been going on for several days now if it was in fact ovulation spotting. I did look it up online, however, and it seems to be fairly normal; unless it is very heavy. But since you're trying to get pregnant, I would probably suggest that you call and tell your doctor about it, especially if it continues in future cycles...just in case your hormone levels are off. Hopefully it's just an "off" cycle this month.
Avatar n tn 39 years with thin endometrium, normal ovulation ,have been trying oral estrogen for the last 2 years.want to know other strategies or medication. This discussion is related to Thin endometrium but normal ovulation.
Avatar n tn ve read on plenty of forums of women have outbreaks during ovulation. Estrogen levels are higher during ovulation, and there are studies showing that estrogen is linked to herpes. This is why women seem to have herpes more than men. It is just that women present more than men do because we have more estrogen. If I don't take the Valtrex, the outbreaks progress to oozing and crusting over. I really don't see what else this could be.
Avatar n tn If this is a recurrrent issue for you, it can usually be corrected with fertility meds in the follicular phase (before ovulation)...either with an estrogen supplement or an ovulation inducing medication, since both will increase your estrogen levels. I would definitely call and check with your doctor, though, to make sure you know for sure what the number was. Good luck!
1050589 tn?1253752185 So your doctor said it was the estrogen that was low, not the progesterone? Usually, the estrogen rises as your follicle/egg develops and then once released, progesterone goes up. A low progesterone usually indicates no ovulation, and without ovulation, you won't get your period. I would probably ask your doctor for a progesterone supplement instead (like provera).
Avatar f tn Ferning and mucous have been around forever, and simply are not very accurate and timing ovulation - if they were we would not have had to invent more accurate tests such as urine ovulation prediction. If you feel you must time ovulation, I would suggest your efforts would be more fruitful using a relatively inexpensive ($35-$40) urine ovulation prediction kit, and start testing on or about cycle day 11. Have intercourse the day the urine test is positive, and the day after.
Avatar f tn FSH signals your body to start the process of maturing eggs for ovulation. The eggs are contained inside a follicle where they will grow and mature until ovulation occurs. As the eggs grow the follicles enlarge and produce estrogen. High levels of estrogen in your body triggers a release of LH, Luteinizing Hormone. This is also known as an LH surge. When this happens it causes the mature egg to burst from the follicle. This is called ovulation.
594189 tn?1386916607 Does anyone know about low estrogen affects ovulation? Since she said my estrogen level is low.
