1112541 tn?1286311213 Some herbal products (like soy isoflavones, red clover and some Chinese herbs) can act like estrogen in our bodies, and may not be safe for women who need to avoid estrogen. Also, there are some antidepressants that are supposed to be helpful for those of us who can't take the hormones, so that might be another option you could ask your doctor about. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hello, well I heard that herbs are good in boosting fertility though never tried before, I read also cinnamon is good too to be taken twice a day mixed with honey..
Avatar m tn There are different approaches that can be tried to improve endometrial thickness, such as adding estrogen into the vagina along with the estrogen pills or patches your wife has likely been using to thicken her endometrium in the first place. If, after trying different approaches, the endometrium still does not get any thicker, then it is what it is and to my mind is thick enough that there is still a chance to get pregnant. Good luck!
613471 tn?1244201788 I wanted to share with you all some things I found… I had been TTC since 2004 and had a divorce and now a fiancé I don’t know how I lived without…and I think now I have actively been TTC for roughly a year. And have become pregnant 2 times, once resulting in a Tubal and a miscarriage and so i read on line about Vitex and decided to give it a try and stick to it and see and document my progress and this is what I have come up with.
Avatar f tn t take birth control (the high estrogen makes me grow precancerous lumps in my breasts). So she put me on flaxseed oil, she said it is a plant estrogen which might help with my lining. Has anyone done this?? Did it work?
Avatar f tn First off, please don't tell me to see a doctor. I can't right now. I want to treat with vitamins and herbs anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm either estrogen dominant or deficient, but I can't be sure which. It seems that I have most of the symptoms for both, and not just the ones they have in common. I'm obviously leaning toward dominant because it's much more likely being 27 years old.
Avatar f tn I started taking licorice to raise my bp and cortisol, but crashed in the last few weeks. I read today that licorice can lower estrogen and is a phytoestrogen so it probably messed up my thyroid too. So what do you do then if you have several health issues that the treatments all contradict each other? I need something to help my adrenals, but the natural herbs like rhodiola and licorice seem to be bad for my hormone and thyroid problems.
216278 tn?1308861082 HERBS There are many vitamins and herbs that can be taken to help enhance fertility. As with all herbs, the benefits of taking them have never been proven in clinical studies. Here is a list of some of the more popular vitamins and herbs taken for fertility purposes: • Black Cohosh Root Used to promote healthy menstruation and to treat symptoms of PMS, menstrual cramps, dysmenorrhea, mood swings and menopause. Its ability to mimic estrogen makes it a valuable female supplement.
3046028 tn?1340538562 I believe it took about three months to kick in and all her estrogen deficiency symptoms went away. She took this product for the next three years until she found she didn't need it anymore.
395342 tn?1217873786 Does anyone know can progesterone supplements help increase cervical mucus? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn I am 39 with PCOS. I do not currently take anything for it except herbs to reduce testosterone. I might also be a tad underweight. I have been told by my doctor that it is like it I have low estrogen due to the symptoms I was recently experiencing. I bought an over-the-counter cream of Estriol USP, which has less than .75% of Estriol per pea-sized amount. As soon as I used it on my abdomen, I began having the normal symptoms I would expect with my period, which brought me great relief.
1660049 tn?1326089018 I looked metformin up in Mosby's Drug Guide for Nurses 9th Edition and there is no mention of any interaction with vitamins. There is a mention that metformin can cause Vit B12 deficiency. Also if you take an estrogen supplement it can increase your risk for hypoglycemia. There is a long list of herbs that interact with metformin, however, so choose a prenatal vitamin that does not have herbs. I would type it out but it is a pretty long list LOL.
1771664 tn?1317686285 The thing is, with herbs and dogs....some herbs which are fine for humans to take can be toxic for dogs. So the best plan if you want to go down that route is seek advice (and after all the checks etc have been done with your regular vet -which Ghilly mentioned)....get a consultation with a Herbal Vet or even a Homeopathic Vet. I'll just mention one thing which may be of some help while you sort out what might be causing this. DOGGY DIAPERS! They are wonderful....
1340383 tn?1309990914 my concern is that I do NOT want to get on birth control when Im TTC...and my Estrogen blood work came out in the normal range.. some people also suggest natural progesterone cream to balance out the excess Estrogen that might have caused the cyst..
Avatar n tn No, you don't. But giving up all dairy products is just smart. All dairy cows produce a lot of estrogen just to produce milk. Forget the fact that they are given de-wormers, antibiotics, growth hormones and such. And animal estrogen isn't a good thing. Then there comes the debate about phytoestrogens in plants. Soy for instance .... so many studies and so many different answers! Keep everything in moderation and you will do well. I actually take a drug called neurontin for hot flashes.
322529 tn?1224945949 Black cohosh is very dangerous if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. If you take it, you should never take it after o. There are many herbs in "fertility" blends that actually cause mc if taken after a certain time frame. Be sure to look up each ingredient b4 taking anything. Many have serious consequence. Here is a copy of one warning label on Black cohosh. I think St. John's Wort is another one that has high risks if taken after o.
1990256 tn?1326824857 10 years ago I was told I had ovarian cancer, I was 20. I was 1 in 100,000 of woman my age with that specific type. No body told me what to expect no body knew anything to tell me to help. I went through menapause at 20. I guess I just really need to know and want to know how to get rid of this 'fat' that it has caused. I just wanna be normal again. Nobody that age deserves a hyterectomy, nobody that age should have to deal with this.
Avatar f tn I will update once i have an actual print out of levels, but i was curious about natural ways to treat hormone imbalances. My testosterone is extremely high, estrogen extremely low, and progestrone is low as well. I may be jumping the gun here without actual numbers, but I'd just like to get started on taking some kind of herbs/vitamins/supplements as soon as possible. Not sure if this is useful in anyway, but possibly worth noting--my Vitamin D, B12, and Iron are all extremely low.
Avatar f tn thanks so much for your answers. I'm new to femara. With my previous fertility doctor, he liked clomid better. With Clomd my estrogen level was always well in to the 1000's by day 12 or 13 but I'm on day 13 now (used femara on day 5-9) and my estrogen is only at 600. And I don't have any signs of having my LH surge yet where as I always surged on day 14 naturally on clomid. So I'm finding femara is working different for me. No idea if it's better or worse.
Avatar n tn I feel a bit better, but not much. There are also several plants and herbs that act like estrogens in your body that might make you feel better, red clover tea is my favorite and tastes great. Since you don't have ovaries, you might want to balance these things with progesterone if your doctor will prescribe it, or get a OTC progesterone cream, but I'm not sure they are the best to use. I sympathize with you.
Avatar f tn Hi Judy! You asked about hot flashes and B6 toxicity. All I can tell you is I started having hot flashes and B6 symptoms the very same month I went into menopause. It was like my body chemistry changed and I could no longer metabolize the B6. My hot flashes have subsided now with the help of taking herbs prescribed by a dr of oriental medicine and accupuncture. Like you I tried conventional methods to reduce my hot flashed but nothing helped until I found a licensed dr of oriental medicine.
Avatar m tn Excessive consumption of foods that may contain estrogen-like substances may upset the balance of hormones and act like estrogen in the body, causing the development of breast tissue. Nutritionists advise that eating a balanced diet may help avoid the development of hormonally related disorders such as gynecomastia. Many herbs contain phytoestrogens present in higher quantities than even estrogenic foods.
Avatar f tn It is claimed to be a good bio-identical product, interesting it doesnt seem to contain estrogen or testoserone, so it is definatley not a hormone replacment therapy. It is more a medication to increase natural sex drive, lubrication, and help with hot flashes, mood swings etc...seems to be similar in chemical structure to a anti-depressant. I also noticed its very pricey , please keep in touch w me and let me know if you try it how it effects you .
1748995 tn?1427334864 Do you test for ovulation and go in when you get a positive? I am a little confused. I am hoping I only have to do a fresh cycle & I get my BFP tyhat way,but I am curious of how a frozen cycle works. Thanks ladies!
378102 tn?1215571666 s in it. He gives me a combination of herbs which contains no estrogen-like components. I ran out of it last week, and thought it would be a great test to see if the herbs were, indeed, doing anything. I've been *dripping wet* for a week now. Gimme those herbs!
