Avatar m tn The first symptoms I noticed were fatigue, no libido, chronic insomnia, ED and testicular shrinkage. Then I started having constant sharp pain, burning, stinging in both my feet, calfs, knee (mostly right leg). I started noticing peeing and bowel movement was becoming difficult (trouble starting, frequency). Then started having testicular pain and sharp pain in the rectum (Urologist diagnosed rectum pain as pelvic floor problem and physical therapy has been helping the rectum pain only).
Avatar m tn t had a checkup for a year or more, she could go in for one now and mention any issues dealing with estrogen and having no libido, as you describe, during that appointment. Of course, with any sexual activities, you need to entertain a good amount of foreplay with her that might trigger her libido.
Avatar f tn I am now on transdermal patch of testosterone to try to ignite my libido which has been non-exsistent for years. the dose of 300mg is not enough but my doctor does not want to up dosage. I would like to have a healthy sex life and my marriage is definitely suffering due to this. anyone got any answers to this for me?
Avatar m tn I was on androgel for several years with good libido results before discontinuing due to prostate cancer. After brachytherapy for my cancer, I am in remission, and after 2+ years resumed taking androgel. I am on androgel again, and have high Testosterone levels (about 1000), but my libido has never recovered. I also have had hypothyroidism, but have been taking synthroid for it for many years with no adverse impact on my libido. Does anyone have a suggestion for what to do?
Avatar m tn Hello, I am becoming very concerned for my girlfriend who is currently on a Low Estrogen birth control pill. Her libido is practically non existent, and she also gets dry and sore when we actually do have sex and finds it very difficult to reach orgasm. I am fairly confident it is the birth control (and possibly her other medications) causing these problems.
Avatar f tn Very high or very low estrogen levels can affect libido. Also, balanced food intake is very important. Not sure if the long term use of anti anxiety drugs would have affected the nervous system. Sorry not able to give any specific suggestion.
Avatar n tn If your body was making insufficient amounts of estrogen, but is introduced to estrogen and progestin (synthetic progesterone), it is completely normal for your libido to be increased while on birth control. Congratulations, you now get to experience the hormonal changes many people experienced in high school. While on birth control (with sufficient amounts of progesterone and estrogen in your body) you will notice a significant change in libido at a specific time during your monthly cycle.
Avatar f tn t producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back. I hope everything works out well! Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I have had the pellet implants for 6 years. Don't give up. They are the best thing I've ever used for HRT. Any form of estrogen can cause bloating. It should even out in time. Ask your doctor for Spironolactone. It's a mild diuretic that also helps the testosterone in your body. I know many women on pellets that use it, myself included. What dosage of estrogen and testosterone did you get? What were your lab numbers? Hang in there!
Avatar f tn I noticed that the skin of the labia majora has become very thin.My libido is very low for 3 years.I am still a virgin because of this.I had blood tests and ultrasound. The test results are normal. Could it be vaginal atrophy? What kind of tests should I do?
Avatar n tn I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I have been on every birth control available and they all have side effects affecting libido. There is a very low dose pill called Camila that you may want to check out but since it's a low estrogen, you have to take it consistently. I've heard that the Maca Root supplement is good at boosting a woman's libido.
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I started a birth control pill called Yasmin and was on it for 2 years. During this time I was on and off it as it gave me alot of symptoms which included being very emotional, weight gain, low libido and more. These symptoms didn't exist when I started Yasmin, not until probably 6 months in, is when I started noticing that my body wasn't liking it. So I stopped it completely last year around August.
Avatar f tn Hot flashes and night sweats Irritability, mood swings and depression Loss of libido and energy Trouble sleeping Urinary incontinence Vaginal dryness Weight gain (especially in the abdomen, hips and thighs) I am 54 and was thrown into surgical menopause 20 years ago. I used synthetic estrogen for 16 years. I tried to get off of it and wow did I get hit hard with menopause symptoms. So now I've been on bioidentical hormones for the last 4+ years.
Avatar n tn I had some estrogen deficiency symptoms for quite a few months. If your estrogen deficiency symptoms are really bad, you could consider taking phytoestrogen supplements such as Soy, Black Cohosh, Ginseng, Red Clover or **** Quai.
Avatar m tn You comment on low libido and low testosterone. These are NOT the same thing. My testosterone level for example has for a LONG time being well within the normal range but my libido (ie sexual drive) has been and remains low. 3. If you want to lose weight cut down on the carbohydrates you eat. limit carbohydrates to two meals per day.
Avatar m tn Can you please resond back and tell me what you know about this drug? I took it because it was an anti-estrogen, I know it's a strong drug but I doubt that 5 pills can completely kill my libido for life. I should also tell you I'm also on suboxone (6mg a day) so not sure if that has something to do with it or not. I just want a doctor to please tell me what I have to do to get back to normal!!! Where the hell did my sex drive go!??!?!?!!
Avatar n tn I have been on Arimidex for seven months and experienced an increase in libido, I am 72. The Oncologist checked for an increase in testosterone. Result: normal. The Doctor checked with an endocrinologist. The Arimidex is blocking the estrogen production and the body recognizes the testosterone more readily and reacts. Are there other women with this reaction?
Avatar m tn My wife has been taking Vicodin (6 x 10/325) for several years. For the past year this escallated to hydromorphone (8 x 2, 2mg tabs). She raised the issue of having zero libido with her physician. Rather than addressing her opiod "saturation" she now is also taking a plethora of hormones, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, etc. with no change. Do they not think of other solutions?
Avatar m tn You must be careful with the dosage tho because too much testo or estrogen is not good. High estrogen production thru supplementation or diet rich in phytochemicals producing estrogen are linked with tumor growth. The relation is not clear buy significant with breast cancer I don't see anything bad with taking Effexor with DHEA supplementation but the optimal way to go would be to take choline, alpha GCP, L-Huperzine and vinpocetine with the DHEA.
Avatar n tn I really feel bad for you younger guys. My libido was strong up until I turned 48 (now 50). All of a sudden my **** went limp and the sensation was gone. No more morning erections. I know things change with age, but I was not expecting this. I had just started a regular exercise routine (cardio & light weights) and eating better after being sedentary for years. I immediately got on the computer to find anything to "fix" this problem. I have tried many internet products.
Avatar f tn Have you heard of Vagifem? It's a non-systemic hormone that is just used vaginally, not a pill, or a systemic estrogen. For years after having a complete hysterectomy, I was on a gel, Estragel or something like that, where you rubbed the gel on your arm. I was told it was safer than an oral estrogen or shots or patches because it didn't have to pass as much drugs through the liver.
Avatar f tn s a good idea for fatigue and low libido but for someone anxious as you are? Bad idea! Did you cut the Adderall or Ritalin, I don't remember which one you are using.
Avatar n tn As we age, we produce less estrogen which is important in preventing vaginal atrophy and lubrication and testosterone which is absolutely key to our libido and all things sexual, our ability to become aroused, our sensitivity and ability/quality of orgasm. I have estrogen and testosterone implants in my hip and I can say they work! There are options and there is no need for you to lose your sex drive. Good luck!
