Estrogen and varicose veins

Common Questions and Answers about Estrogen and varicose veins

Avatar n tn Horse chestnut is the best-known natural treatment for varicose veins. It helps prevent swelling and strengthens capillary and vein walls. The usual dose is 300 mg a day. Side effects are pretty rare, but if you start feeling itchy or nauseous, taper back your dose. Nature’s Way has a widely available, quality product I generally recommend. Grape seed extract also supports the walls of blood vessels. Take 150 to 300 mg in divided doses over the course of a day.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Varicose veins are caused by hormone changes, exposure to the sun, and injuries. Few predisposing factors for developing varicose veins are prolonged standing or sitting, chronic constipation, menstrual cycle, birth control pills/estrogen replacement therapy, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy etc.It may not be possible to determine the exact cause of your symptoms without a detailed evaluation.
Avatar f tn This supplement cured me of varicose veins and got rid of the few liver spots that I had, as well as other skin imperfections. (Note: you have to buy this brand.

429700 tn?1308011423 I've noticed no itching at the site of my injections, but I have noticed some really, really, ugly broken capillaries (I think that's what it is). I've been noticing the varicose veins these past two years, and now, OMG, they are REALLY disgusting to look at where I'm giving myself injections!!!! I do hope that you find something that helps with the itching. Take care, Ess.
Avatar n tn He has told me that I can either let him go back in and tie of the damaged veins and hope that stops the pain or have a partial hysterectomy (leaving the cervix & uterus). He also tells me that this is a issue that he has only seen in one other of his patients. What is the success rate if I have the veins tied off or will I end up with having a hysterectomy in the long run? I am only 30 and don't know what the best choice is.
Avatar n tn then the doctor told him to do ultra sound their was Varicose veins on the left side But the doctor said their is no need of surgery because the Varicose vein is light and the hormones are normal ,then he did Biopsy to see whether or not the testicles are working or not .or if he got blockage . it come out that every thing is normal no blockage and the testis are working . but i still want to know why their is no sperm in his ejaculation .

If you are concerned that you may be at risk due to any of these conditions, please consult with your physician.

Avatar n tn Hi I am 48 and experiencing all the aforementioned - hair loss (for which I've been using Rogaine), crepy skin, wrinkles, dry skin, sagging everything, varicose and bulging veins, and basically the loss of my looks. And I am so tired. I take a host of supplements, and use a red laser about 3 times a week. I have had no exercise in the last few months though and alot of stress. I weigh 115 at 5'3. Any advice other than cry and add exercise back in as well as quit my profession lol?
Avatar f tn When I hit 28 weeks with my 2nd baby, they put me on progesterone suppositories, and that happened to me after a few weeks of being on it. My doctor said it can be caused by increased estrogen and progesterone levels.
Avatar n tn They only last a few seconds. The build and peak like labor pains. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on so I have time to brace myself. I'll set down whatever it is i'm holding and get ready. I have to cross my legs, bend my knees, hold on to something, clench my body tight, and try to breathe. Thank God it only lasts a few seconds. My 14 yr. old son witnessed it yesterday and tried to call 911. I kept signaling him not to. I knew it wouldn't last long. My gyno.

Avatar n tn I kept tearing and my skin down there was ultra-fragile. Turns out it was hormonal and I was prescribed estrogen ointment/cream to apply once or twice a day to the external areas and just ever so little inside. It strengthened the tissues and kept me from tearing after just a few days of use. I swear, my clit hood would split open (talk about PAINFUL!) and my perineum would tear if I even thought about having penetrating sex. It'll also help with lubrication.
Avatar n tn I have all three plus others. I am now dealing with varicose veins in the genital region on JUST ONE SIDE (what is THAT all about?) and I am not sure what the doctor is going to do about that or if anything can be done. Found one vein by accident a few years ago. Tons showed up on the ultrasound I had today. Another fall-out apparently, from the hysterectomy. I had better quit. Dictation is waiting. I fear that I would be writing forever if I continue.
Avatar n tn After going being home for two days my fever went up to 102 and I was readmitted and given antibiotics for 2 days and released. No one ever said anything about the bowel repair or possibility of infection from it. My concern is, what are the long-term effects of a bowel repair? Also, shouldn't the doctor have informed me that this happened? I was very worried I had some kind of awful post-operative infection. I am going to request a copy of my surgical report...but this is all strange to me....
1936698 tn?1333918793 Its very common and is called the chadwicks sign... its caused by estrogen/increased blood flow which causes a blueish purpleish color... it can also be accompanied by swelling form the increased blood flow or vericose veins... all common during pregnancy...
Avatar f tn I had dull AF like cramps until about 8 weeks, and my bbs hurt A LOT, but I was on progesterone and estrogen supplements, so they hurt before I actually got pregnant lol. After awhile I started getting some bloating, which now has turned into a slight actual baby belly, but other than that I don't really feel pregnant. No morning sickness, no cravings, my bbs don't hurt anymore. Just getting a belly.
Avatar f tn I have no varicose veins, not a smoker, 5'2-149 pounds, I excercise. I am scared and I know that even though I'm healthy just being on the birth control pill can cause blood clots. Should I go to the doctor and tell them to check me? I don't want them to think I'm crazy. What are the symptoms for blood clots and should I be worried?
547919 tn?1411519482 the Dr also thinks I might have the type of endo that is inside the uterus. I was also diagnosed with Chronic Pelvic Congestion (like varicose veins around uterus).. The dr thinks if the shots help then I will do well with a hysterectomy. I guess my question is this: Has anyone suffered with any of this? And taken Aygestin? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Varices are sign of portal hypertension when the blood cant make it through the main artery and varicose veins are formed to find a way through. The risk is that they bleed, which is life threatening.
Avatar f tn I'd much rather chance joint pain than uterine cancer and thombosis! I have a huge fear of getting a blood clot (I have some varicose veins in my legs and had one bad one removed once). ...It really seems that more people have so many terrible reactions to Tamoxifin, more so than other drugs! I'm trying to do a lot of research of the drugs I can choose from.

Avatar n tn A number of conditions can result in leg edema. These include varicose veins, venous thrombosis (usually limited to one leg), fluid retention secondary to medications, renal disease, liver disease and heart disease. Congestive heart failure is associated with the following symptoms; shortness of breath, fatigue, leg edema, shortness of breath upon reclining etc. From your description it is quite possible that your leg swelling may be due to your medications.
Avatar n tn my period is still not due for a week to a week and a half, and I've had no cramping whatsoever, and it looks like actual blood, not menstrual fluid, though it is getting heavier and darker now than it was before. I'm wearing a tampon just to keep it from leaking all over, though it didn't start actually coming out until I went to the bathroom. it was just sort of sitting there until I went pee, but then it was dripping and I didn't want a mess so I put the tampon in.
