Enzyme that causes milk protein to settle out

Common Questions and Answers about Enzyme that causes milk protein to settle out

milk

Avatar n tn You appear to be intolerant to milk protein, based on that test. Many sensitive people can handle milk protein if they take a protease enzyme supplement just prior to consumption. I would not recommend you continue to consume dairy products without this enzyme supplement, as you can make the problem worse, over time. Better yet, you can take an enzyme blend that includes lactase and protease both.
Avatar n tn The substitutes for dairy products are soymilk, lactaid milk (which has the lactase enzyme in it), rice milk, almond milk, soy cheese, soy yogurt, lactaid ice cream, soy ice cream, and rice ice cream. Lactase enzyme is sold in drugstores as a pill, which can be taken just as you have the dairy product so you do not have issues.
Avatar f tn I dont know how to get my baby to eat. She eats very little. She is allergic to milk. She has Vital JR but she wont drink it anymore. She did at first and now refuses. Her doct wants to send her to a GI but I dont think that is her problem. She was born with a severe deviated nasal septum. Im wondering if this is bothering her and if this is why she wont eat. She was on Flonase for 3m then off and she started not eating.

Avatar f tn My sympathy to your sister! I had a similar experience 25 years ago that was finally diagnosed as a hiatal hernia/duedonuem ulcer. And, the trigger was not bacteria but an allergy to milk protein (casein/casinate). (See the no-dairy web page for avoiding these widely used food additatives. They even "wash" tuna to make it "whiter" with milk protein.) I went from 60 pills (Zantac) a month to zero once I cut out the milk protein.
Avatar f tn You might try taking an enzyme product that has a good amount of Lactase in it, the lactose digesting enzyme, and then try a bit of dairy to see if it eliminates your problem. Are you sure it is the milk sugar you are reacting to, and not the milk protein? Some people have a lesser amount of an enzyme called DPP-IV in their gut, contributing to an intolerance for dairy proteins. I would recommend talking to a nutritionist about this.
335728 tn?1331414412 I also take Amitriptyline for fatigue related to MS. Has anyone else had trouble with protein or calcium deficiency that has been proven related to any meds? I can't say that I have a perfect diet and as I told my hubby that perhaps if I started drinking again it would help with the calcium deficiency...I always drank Kahlua and Milk (calcium in the milk) he he. I am probably grasping at straws here but I can't say that I have ever heard of someone being protein deficient before.
Avatar m tn That's alot of dairy. Depending on the individual that can be hard on the system, causing the opposite effect (ie leaky gut, malabsorption, irritability, even difficulty reasoning, as with my son.) Before adding all that dairy maybe get a casein and gluten peptide test and check prealbumin levels to make sure your body is not having trouble breaking down or absorbing protein. If so, you will want to ask for tests for negative bacteria and parasites.
Avatar f tn Given the possible liver enzyme abnormality, it may be worth using Milk Thistle as a supplement (this will help protect the liver). Other than that, I would say try to keep to a kidney diet for now and see where things are in 2 weeks time when you repeat the blood testing.
Avatar f tn Red_Star has a good point. Sadly there really is no fast way to test this besides cutting out your normal dairy intake. Try buying "A2 Milk" which is real milk from a certain cow that does not produce the A1 (Casein) protein. If symptoms subside then you may have figured it out.
Avatar m tn This involves drinking 6.6pts of milk per day for a period of 1 month, to get fast weight gain that I should be able to maintain by returning to my normal eating habits. I am prepared to accept any short term implications, such as acne, or sickness if I get weight gain results that I am looking for. This is a serious self-confidence affecting issue and it makes me feel uncomfortable and depressed. I need a solution, and my doctor has no answers for me.
Avatar n tn so i'm 24 and for as long as i can remember anytime i've had any milk or ice cream, it has always left a bad taste in my mouth. i have no problems with cheeses and yogurts. at school when given the choice of white milk and chocolate milk i always chose chocolate milk because it masked the bad aftertaste. i hated when my parents made me drink milk with meals. i never had digestive issues - bloating, gas, stomach aches, undigested food, etc - until about 6 or 7 months ago.
Avatar m tn I'm not a fan of soy milk either. Long list of potential imbalances and hormonal effects. I'm also not a big fan of drinking milk anyway (I prefer getting my dairy through yogurt, kefir, cheese, etc) and for drinking I prefer water (for cold) and tea or espresso (for hot). And I enjoy my one glass of red wine for dinner. I also eat full fat dairy, use cream and butter and ghee in my food, opting always for grass fed free range, to get very high quality macro and micronutrients.
Avatar f tn I find with gastroparesis there are times that things seem to be better than others. Of course, I have had to learn to eat differently. Movement doesn't seem to assist me either. I try not to eat after 4 p.m. This does help me. Since I have a feeling of fullness most of the time there isn't a problem with cravings. I know that if I wait a half hr. the craving disappears. Here is my concern; my stomach area feels hard when palpated and I have a lot of bloating.
Avatar f tn I think you're confusing inability to digest dairy with sexual hormones. You are right, humans were only intended by nature to consume mother's milk and that only until weaning, but the main problem with it isn't that it causes hormonal problems. Plant foods are actually more likely to cause hormonal problems than animal food, which is quite dead by the time we eat it whereas plant food has not nutritional value unless we eat it while it still has life force in it.
Avatar m tn This is the protease enzyme culprit that causes the HCV to multiply and PI`s block. NS2-3 protease (of hepatitis C virus, HCV) is an enzyme responsible for proteolytic cleavage between NS2 and NS3, which are structural proteins that form part of the HCV virus particle. NS3 protease of hepatitis C virus, on the other hand, is responsible for the cleavage of non-structural protein downstream.
1346101 tn?1288051949 not sure which caused which, but seems there is a leak. i guess i got cfs diagnosis first, then with some digging, dr also found thyroid problem [now normalised], and this leaky gut. they're related, in that when one system goes down, it places a strain on the next one, and it follows. so i can't say which one went down first. my gastro system has always been less than ideal. the leaky gut test was a urine test. dr added a reagent, then another reagent a few minutes later.
Avatar n tn For others it might be all milk products - not just lactose but all milk products - some people have trouble with the casein in milk (which is a protein). Some people have trouble with both and need to eliminate both at the same time. For others, carbohydrates in general cause problems. Hopefully, someone on here will be able to help you.
Avatar f tn Oh my god that is so good to hear!! Did u avoid dairy etc while pregnant??
Avatar f tn Test for food allergy AND milk protein peptides showing up in the urine, indicating enzyme deficiency in breaking down milk protein. Is he irritable or occasionally spike fevers for no reason? My sons weight was in the 10th percentile and I went to the doctor from the time he was 10 months old for that and his emotional coping problems. I thought they must somehow be related, but was told no.
Avatar n tn Needless to say, I did not have any alcohol and started having protein fruit smoothies every morning with Milk Thistle to improve my liver functioning and overall diet. I rarely drink enough fluids throughout the day, and the liver and kidneys filter our blood. So by improving my diet and liquid intake, I had a remarkable improvement. After the blood tests, he asked me what i had done, because he had never seen such dramatic improvements in liver enzyme levels.
Avatar n tn Should say, an exception would be a sports drink that contains electrolytes but also a lot of protein to counteract the sugar. Gym actually has a lot of recipes for such drinks he posts sometimes.
1464587 tn?1307491605 What do you recommend more to avoid inflammation and flare ups, whey protein or vegan protein supplements? Are protein supplements safe to take while on prednisone and hidroxocloroquine? I feel because of my cut I'm losing more muscle than I want beacuse I don't take any protein supplements, only food rich with protein.
1298409 tn?1272846202 s the Bomlain enzyme in the pineapples that supposed to do it. But now that ur pregnant plz be careful with pineapples cuz too much can actually lead to uterine contractions and miscarriage. http://www.ivfplus40.com/2008/09/pineapple-and-grape-juice.html I'm taking about half a cup to one cup of fresh walnuts daily and I know that all nuts, ESP walnuts, help during the 2ww. And ur right about the yams too.
Avatar m tn My daughter has been battling with constipation since her infancy. The Dr. had changed her regular formula to soy and her constipation issues were gone. At the age of one when she was put on cows milk the constipation issues returned. After struggling with on and off constipation I had put her on soy milk at the age of 4. Now, about 4 months later since I put her on soy milk I learned of the high estrogen content.
Avatar m tn I know exactly what you mean! I can't eat a bowel of cereal either. It's weird because I can put cream or milk in my coffee but not milk in my cereal. I thought it must be the lactose and maybe it's just that it's because there's more in a bowel of cereal? Anyway, that's what I thought that maybe it was the amount because I can seem to take milk in little bits. Sorry if that doesn't help much but I know how you feel!
1374347 tn?1279163392 She went from 50% to 0% in a 3-4 months. She went through periods of having an aversion to food, to eating and still not gaining. We have seen a gastrogist, hematologist, endro, and a cardiologist, behaviorist, and speech therapist. Her red blood cell counts are in "normal range" but are slowly dropping while her white blood cell counts are in "normal range" but are slowly increasing.
Avatar f tn I read somewhere that broccoli is toxic to dogs. My dog likes eating the stem/root of broccoli sort of like a bone. He prefers fruits and veggies over his own dry dog kibble. Can someone please provide me with a safety list of fruits/veggies for dogs. I keep getting hearing mixed information; about broccoli and almonds and more.
Avatar m tn A lot of people lose the ability to digest lactose over time due to decreasing enzyme levels. However another problem could be developing an intolerance to casein, the major protein in dairy. It can cause a variety of symptoms including fatigue and skin issues. You could ask your doc to run some tests, or just avoid dairy in general.
